The bed bug thing is real. DO NOT BUY! Just opened it up and saw a few

Read reviews that someone else had bed bugs and thought they were just unlucky but sadly as I purchase this and used it shows that this mattress also was infested with them. I had to thow out my mattress because on the outside things look fine but inside was a nightmare! There were dozens of them and I’ve never had a bed bug problem.. now I’m left with no bed angry because I exspected amazon and the seller to have better quality control specially with something as serious as bed bugs. Very disappointed..
After 3 months folding the futon and unfolding it, the way it is designed, the mattress separated in the middle creating a huge gap and exposing the springs. I could not find any way to contact the seller so here it is publicly.
After about six months of use I am finding that springs are punching upward through the mattress topping - uncomfortable.
It has been very difficult dealing with the company on this issue. They want a photo, fine so I send them one. Then they want another photo which I send and then another photo which I send. All of this is a slow process that wastes time. It makes me feel like they're trying to get to the end of the warrantee period. Now they want a PRF, what ever that is, and 20x20 cutout. I need a mattress to sleep on. This is getting rediculous
I have had this mattress for two months now. I bought it to accompany a futon frame. Here is the good and bad.

Good: Great to sleep on. Good bed so far.

Bad: It was a mistake to think this could be a couch and a bed. Its almost impossible to move from a bed to a futon couch.

Horrible: The mattress split on me in the back after only the first week of moving it from bed to couch every day.

Now I only use it as a bed. It was a mistake to think it could be both.
I would definitely recommend this mattress to any budget conscious buyer looking for just a basic mattress for themselves or a guest bed. Please see the pictures for the details. I have taken pictures of the whole process. First you have to carry what looks like a blue body bag into your house. Next, you shimmy the bag down the outside of the mattress. There is no need to cut the bag off, it comes off just fine with a little patience. I decided to go with the "stand the bag up, bear hug and squat technique" but do whatever works for you. Inside of the bag you will find a plastic wrapped rolled-up mattress inside of an outer plastic sleeve. It is okay to cut this off without fear. The magic doesn't happen until you reach the next layer of plastic. I cut the end off and then slid the scissors down the bag until it opened. DO NOT CUT THE PLASTIC UNDERNEATH!! Next you will come to the rolled-up mattress itself. It should be secured with three pieces of clear tape that hole the roll together. Cut the three pieces of tape. As you cut, you will hear a pop as the mattress is released from the pressure of the roll. You will only need to barely cut the tape pieces and the mattress will do the rest. Then you unroll the mattress where you want it to be. If you are using this for a futon, then it would be best to open the futon to the flat bed formation before you do this. Trust me it will be a pain to move the mattress later, it's pretty heavy.

Okay, now here comes the fun part. Once the mattress is in place, position your cut on the side seam so that the mattress can expand fully and you can get out of the way after you cut it open quickly. IMMEDIATELY after you make your cut into the plastic the mattress will start to expand so slide the scissors up the side of the mattress plastic quickly and get out of the way. It should only take about a minute to fully inflate and you can continue cutting away the plastic. Mine opened up with the tags facing up so I flipped it when it was done expanding. If this doesn't bother you then forget about it. Yes, there is a chemical smell, it came from a factory. No, it's not that bad and it went away after 3-4 days.

In all I am happy with this mattress. I am using it flat on a full size metal frame that I got from Walmart and it does not slide around on it at all. It also holds up well to me sitting in the same spot for a while. I hope this review helps you out, I noticed no one else had posted any pictures of the black one. This review is of the black version which is a true black, not grayish black or anything.
I got this product on March 2 and opened it March 3. It's been almost 2 months and Found bed bugs in them April 21. Two exterminators came to examine and dispose the mattress and told me these bed bugs have been there for over two months to have it in this state. I can't imagine how I could have got it in but if the bed is brand new I can only imagine it came from the bed itself before I even opened it. The bed bugs were living under the black cover which has a zipper but I couldn't open/take off all the way because it was sewn to attach to the mattress. I ended up cutting the cover off to inspect my bed and ended up being full of red marks and droppings- which means it must have been present for a good while. But it's brand new! I'm beside myself. Again, I can't identify where it's actually from but I can't imagine it being from anywhere else.. Furthermore I was very disappointed in the middle seam where the futon is supposed to fold as my purpose was for a bed mattress.
Now I currently have all my clothes washed and dryer, bagged up and I live out of this ! I further sleep on the floor until my new bed comes (which I will not ever order from Amazon again). I also had to rent out a hotel room because my work told me I couldn't go in unless I was cleared by bed bugs.
Myself and the bed bugs are convinced that they came like this and it was an unspoken lay refurbished mattress. I actually never had red blood stains on my sheets - again all droppings and blood were underneath the black cover. ANyONE WHO PURCHASED LOOK UNDER THE COVER. I It's a rip off since I actually paid $125.00 and this shouldn't have been what I purchase.
We bought this futon for our five dogs, so they would stop trying to get on the couch. It came rolled up in plastic, you cut it open, and pops out like a can of biscuits would. Its very comfortable, our dogs love it and have stopped attempting to get on our couch because they now have their very own. It is worth the money, don't bother buying something for cheaper that will just go flat in a years time. This is great and we would recommend anyone buying it for their homes for themselves, or your fury friends! Its comfortable!
After reading all of the awesome reviews, I was slightly dissapointed in my mattress. It feels like I received something different than everyone else. This mattress is only OK, nothing special. I doubt I would buy it again. I think I would stick with foam futon mattresses

-The mattress feels like it has air in it. When you sit on it, it feels no different than an air mattress. If you sit/lay on the edge of the mattress it squishes down to nothing. I don't know how two people would lay on this mattress side by side.
-The top layer feels crinkly. It feels like it has a plastic mattress protector on top, which I guess would be good for spills. It doesnt make it very appealing to sit on. Every time you move it feels like you are on cardboard and you hear the crinkling.
-The packaging was very hard to get into. The box isn't taped shut, it is completely glued shut. It is very hard to get into the box without puncturing the packaging around the mattress
-The bottom of the mattress is a black material, you cannot flip the mattress to help it last longer

UPDATED: I have owned this mattress for a couple of months now, there are huge 'butt grooves' where we sit. Not impressed at all. Guess the low price was too good to be true.
Comfortable, firm mattress but it has a chemical smell that's still lingering several months after I purchased it. I bought this mattress for use on my son's bunkbed specifically because it claims to be CertiPUR-US Certified so has low VOC emissions and is made without phthalates and other harmful substances so am disappointed with the odor it has. I've tried almost everything including airing it out, vacuuming it, spraying it with an odor neutralizer, I even bought an air purifier for the room to try to help alleviate the smell but it still has a strong off-gassing odor months later making me wary about leaving it in my son's room or letting him sleep in there with it. The mattress itself would be great otherwise.
Very comfortable mattress. I bought this on sale and I am very happy with the quality of the matters. All of my guests that have slept on it sleep well and find it to be very comfortable. The only thing is that once it is opened there is a smell that it gives off but it went away after a week.
We are very pleased with this futon!! It's exactly as described, fits our solid wood futon perfectly, and very comfortable! It arrived on time too. The only complaint I have is how super hard it was to open box it came in. Would definitely recommend this futon.
Great price and packaging and shipping time received. Nice soft colour tan. Springs are a little softer since receiving. That's why only four stars. I think should not be pressed shrunk and rolled . Maybe caused the springs to be not as strong. But overall like the mattress.
Quel bel achat, super confortable, bien conçu, et moelleux comme j'aime, très bien emballé, je recommande, je l'adore, merci !
It took 2 weeks to get here but was WELL WORTH the wait!! ABSOLUTELY the best futon matress I have ever seen/had! Weighs about 50 lbs (so get help unpacking it!) Inflates beautifully and quickly. excellent quality. Highly recomend
Packed well and really good quality. Expands to the full 8 inches and is really comfortable. Makes a futon not feel like a futon and that's a plus.
Great value, looks great, came faster than expected ( 2 days) and most importantly super comfy! Highly recommend.
Burgandy colour is rubbing off on clothing and any bedding used, so I hope after a wash of the cover it will stop. The mattress is a lot softer than I was expecting and there is a lining on the inside that feels very rigid and plastic (probably to help keep the coils from digging in?).
I am extremely happy with the quality of this futon. We purchased it for our rv. It is so comfortable and we actually had great sleeps while camping. We fold it up and use it as a couch during the day.
The price is also excellent. I would definitely purchase again, we love it!
I read many bad reviews which scared me and then had some shipping problems but they fixed it and it arrived sooner than what they said and when it arrived it was great, it does have a chemical smell at the beginning but it’s normal and fades within the week and now is even more comfortable than my own bed!
This futon mattress is actually more comfortable than my regular mattress, to be fair that mattress is 14 years old but it is still comfortable. I wasn't expecting to offer guests the best bed in the house.

Took a while to unfold . Pocket coils comfortable. Using mainly as mattress not couch.
