When I ordered this product I was leaving for a weekend vacation, in which I was taking my truck and did not want to have any problems with anything in my truck bed getting wet. I ordered days before leaving and received it within 2 days. All seemed great until we opened the package and it was the total wrong size in the box. Called customer service and they were unable to get me a new one before I was to go on my trip. After speaking with their customer rep I decided to try and have a new one delivered to the destination I was going to(a family members house). It arrived just hours after I got to my destination. We found it very easy to install, just when securing the clips underneath I had to just make sure I payed close attention that the silver clip pieces did not move when I tightened them. So happy with the ease of opening and closing of this product on my truck. After we put it on within 3 hours It down poured. When the rain stopped, I opened the tailgate and sure enough it was totally dry. Yes, there was a slight hiccup in the beginning of this purchase, but the company did good and arranged for pickup of the wrong product, whilst sending the new one. For the price I am very satisfied. Hopefully this review helps at least one person.
This is my second Tonneau Cover. My first is on my 2007 Ram 1500 and I just bought a 2019 Ram Classic 1500 so I needed a new cover. I have Adarac racks for my kayaks and other things and wanted a cover that did not cover the post holes and this was one of the very few that fit that criteria. I have not yet installed the racks as I need to take them off my 2007 but already checked to make sure they fit. I ordered this on Wednesday and received it on Friday and 45 minutes later I had it installed. Very easy. The rails fit perfectly so I did not need a clamp to hold them while I installed the permanent clamps. There is a gasket type seal on each rail and a rubber gasket type flap on each end. Those will likely keep out most of the water from rain. I live in Florida near the beach so lots of rain depending on the time of the year. The only tool needed was a socket wrench with 1/2" and 9/16" sockets. The 1/2" is for the rail clamps and the 9/16" is for the cover attachment to the rails. While I gave it a 5* rating for durability I am hoping that's not premature. The cover is warranted for 10 yrs. My other cover has a lifetime warranty but was almost twice the price 12 yrs ago. he material seems thick enough but only time and the Florida sun will tell. Anyway, it was easy and fast to install and does exactly what I wanted it to so zero complaints and a great price!
Great deal for the money. Probably the nicest cover you can get for under $300, maybe under $400. The fit is absolutely perfect. Installed on 2011 Ram 1500 quad cab with 6'4 bed. I have a bedrug liner installed and it still worked great. No water leakage so far. I was skeptical at first of the velcro style setup but after using it a few times I'm sold. So much more bed access than a trifold. The trigger release mechanism is pretty slick.
When installing make sure you follow instructions and look at the pics for help. Do not over tighten the nuts in the back corners. They are supposed to be able to slide back and forth to mate up with the cab side.
It is cheap and installs quick, but it is cheaply made and poorly designed. The rear clamp screw is cheap plastic and strips easily. The front clamp is poorly engineered and only locks in the handle down position so it interferes with cargo loading. If you have plastic bed rails, you will need to buy additional weather stripping because there will be a gap across the front bed rail. It only folds twice so you only get 2/3 of your bed space unless you just take it off. Do your research and buy something better.
Nice looking cover. We had a bad rain storm the other night and the cover held a excessive amount of water. The middle section was sagging down about 4 inches. Obviously needs better supports.
It came really quickly after I ordered it and the packaging while not secured with styrofoam or bubble wrap was intact. I am giving it 4 stars because although my husband said it was pretty easy to install he pointed out to me the gap on the corners and in the middle on the front side where the cover was not touching the surface of the bed rail . He ended up getting some rubber to fill in the gap and ensure a tight seal. Overall, it looks good. I just hope it withstands the 10 hour drive from NC to FL and back! I will update after our trip!
Update: this cover held up and kept our stuff completely dry even through a downpour - 12 hours on the road each way! It's brand new so for now I am satisfied.
I searched a while as I’m sure you are doing now. Lots of different brands, styles, prices, etc. I decided I was not going to pay $900 for hard cover and I wasn’t going to buy a snap on piece of cr*p. I paid $20-$30 more and went with the Gator tri-fold. Looks great and easy install on my 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab with 6’ 4” bed. It took me 20 minutes to install, but if I had to do it again, I could install it in 3-4 minutes. (I did cut a 1/4” x 1” strip of the bed rail plastic to make sure it clasped well, but probably was overkill).
Just stop shopping and reading reviews and place the order. Worthwhile investment if price and quality are important. Gator seems to have a good name in the tonneau business too.
I bought a Gator rollup cover 53204 for my 2016 Ram 1500 Sport for luggage space for vacation. I received the package 5 days before it’s scheduled delivery date which was awesome. I installed it the next day. The frame pieces felt cheap, and the clamps are not very high quality. The install was a pain due to alignmemt issues, but I got it straightened out. The cover looks fantastic on the truck, but the quality is not good. It does not seal well, but it’s parked in a garage so I don’t have to worry about it too much. My biggest complaint is the roll up and roll out. I found you have to stand in the bed of the truck to get it to roll out and velcro evenly. If you do it from the side of the bed, it will roll out and velcro crooked. It is very frustrating and I would not recommend this product. I will not be keeping it long.
This cover is a terrific value. It took me about 1/2 hour to install. Super basic. A suggestion: don't even bother trying to decode the cryptic written instructions. Simply Google search the cover for installation. They provide an excellent video covering exactly what needs to be done. Watch the video all the way through once or twice, go out to your truck, and install the cover with ease. The fitment is excellent and the quality of the product appears top notch. I have a 2018 Ram 3500 with 8 foot bed. This fit like it was custom made for the truck. My buddy spent about $2000 on a hard tonneau cover.............totally unnecessary. This cover is well worth the money.
I like the cover. It took a little time clamping and setting the tension block, but overall not more than 45 minutes (would have been much quicker, with another person) and then the rest was super easy. I didn't expect two round tubes sitting on the rails to support the cover in the middle; I expect it to sag in time, but hopefully not too badly. Looks good and functions well for the price. Hopefully it will last as the manufacturer promises.
I have 2019 Classic Warlock Crew 5.7 bed. Fits great, I suspect I may want to replace it in a couple of years because of the stretch and the little bit of flapping on the highway (no gaps, just will need tightening every once and a while). On an upward slope water collects a little, downward slope no issue at all. Overall you cannot beat the ease of install or value for money.
Quality is good,,, alum frame is sturdy , material is a bit too flimsy in the wind than what I would like. But for the price, I'm still very happy. I watched a youtube video before installing,,, they made it look so easy,,, and it was!! It took about 10 mins just to be sure I had it centered,,, but very quick to tighten down.
Having had a Gator Tonneau cover on my last truck I purchased one again for my new pick up. It arrived in great time.
It took less than half an hour to install and looks and works brilliantly. I would highly recommend this cover.
Fit perfect on My 2015 Dodge Ram Sport Crew Cab.
This cover was easily installed by one person, looks like quality material,i hope it lasts me many years.
I gave no stars for durability because it has only been on my truck for a few days.I dont know how durable it will be?
Very easy to install. Final product looks great and seems to be good quality. Nice seal on both front of box and tailgate ...
My only concern is that the clamps seems flimsy . I actually had some from an old cover and had to use them since I had 2 defective ones but will be calling for replacements ... Overall a very nice, clean sleek low profile look ..
Amazing fit and built to withstand a Canadian winter. Easy to install as well. Was able to hide truck box LED strips inside the rails for an added touch. This was worth every penny.
There were a couple scratches on the metal rails when they arrived. It was not easy to install the tensioners, the pin was tough to get in. The instructions were not incredibly clear so we watched a YouTube video to help. It really looks good on the truck.
Excellent product
Very easy to install took me 45 min to install
Very satisfied
Fit Ram 1500 classic 2019
Just 1 thing, it has a scratch/ripped on the top right side, my husband covered with glue...we didn't return coz its a big and heavy item...
Installed on my 19 ram classic 1500 crew cab. I’ve used easier tonneau covers but the price was great for this one and it by no means feels cheap.
Very easy to install. Keeps water out of the truck bed. Fits perfectly. The vinyl is not that thick, I am not sure how it will hold on the long run but it still looks new after a couple of weeks. I am overall very satisfied
Put this on my 2010 ram laramie 5'7" box. Fits great, works well and looks good. Easy for one person to roll up and down.
