Tyger Auto T3 Soft Tri-Fold Truck Bed Tonneau Cover for 2019-2020 Toyota Tacoma Fleetside 5' Bed TG-BC3T1630

Read reviews that mention:

Here is the scoop on this cover. It should be rated a four star out of the box but I am going to tell you how to easily make it a five star. I will also address many of the "problems" other people have reviewed for this product and similar covers as well.

I bought this for my 2015 Tacoma and after considering every possible bed cover. In a nutshell, I love it. Installed it and drove 350 miles this weekend in both nasty sideways dust/wind storms and straight up pounding rain and it contained both as well as any similar product conceivably could. Meaning, several few drops of water at the impossible to waterproof Toyota tailgate seams.

1. Fit and Finish- For the tapered Tacoma bed, it is spot-on. Out of the box it looks awesome, feels stout and blends with the truck. It is packaged carefully.

2. Instructions- Throw them away.

3. Installation Time- About an hour from box to done as you get used to it. Re-installing after removal is less than 10 minutes (I know because I had to remove and re-install three days after installation)...more on that later.

4. Quality/Durability- For the featured negative review to talk about what they think weather will do to this cover down the road in a few years, please send me the lotto numbers. The material feels very stout, the seams are beefy, the edges are rolled, this thing is at the top of "soft tops" when you consider the garbage that used to get snapped to an El Camino bed back in the day. No comparison.

5. Seeing Daylight at the Front of the Bed- The manufacturer has included weatherstripping in the box. Use it. Be creative with it in the odd nooks and crannies Toyota created at the front of this bed. The Toyota plastic bed tub and the metal bed walls coupled with the protective bed wall top caps make for a complicated and completely uneven front edge. You will have to work at sealing all the little sources of light (and wind and water as a result) to make it as water and dust-tight as possible. Again, this is NOT a TYGER thing, this is a TOYOTA thing. But no big deal.

6. Wind at the Leading Edge- This is where the product should lose a star. Like other products like this one (soft tri-fold framed tonneau) there have been review complaints about wind getting under the front edge and lifting the cover and creating a possible safety issue for following vehicles. Also allowing wind-driven dust or water to enter your covered bed.

At speeds above 70, this cover begins to lift its leading edge (along the back window of the cab). You can see it in your mirror and it is unnerving. It can be blamed on only having four clamps (all located along the inside bed rails) included in the TYGER system. The easy visual here is four guys in a car moving a mattress on the roof of their car. They all reach one arm out the windows and hold four points of side of the mattress, but as they drive down the highway the front flips around and lifts up. BUT there is an easy solution...

The Solution- For Tacoma trucks anyway...We need a fifth clamp on this cover at the leading edge (TYGER are you listening?). My solution stems from my disregarding the lousy installation instructions (in a good way).

During my initial installation, I looked at the garbage printed on the instruction papers and just started trying to clamp this thing down to my track rails inside the bed, naturally starting with the first two clamps closest to the cab. I placed the cover-mounted front hooks directly into the bed rails (not the way you should do it but it worked) and screwed down the round handles until the front was tight. I then tried to do the same thing with the back rear plastic clamps but they couldn't reach the track rails inside the bed....

That led me to look at the other stuff included in the box, and lo and behold there are some extruded aluminum adapters to slip into the track rails inside my bed creating an extended lip for ALL the cover clamps to tighten onto. Well, I looked at the metal front hooks (different longer design than the longer plastic rear hooks) firmly in place without the adapters and said "another day." I slid in the rear adapters (be sure to back out the hex-key screw or else you will use a hammer and scratch up your track rails like I did) into place and tightened down the rear clamps and hit the road.

On the road, watching the front of my cover flop up and down (it only moves a half inch or so, but it is enough to make you nervous) I thought about the two left-over adapters. I have a track rail on the leading edge of my bed, paralell to the cab...I can slip one adapter into that track...but how do I get a clamp onto the leading edge of the cover...

When I got home I unclamped the whole thing and discovered that the leading-edge frame of the cover has a channel tube in it as well. Play with the other left-over aluminum adapter in that channel and you can create (along with the other left-over adapter fixed in the Toyota track rail) two nice horizontal lips to zip-tie together and increase your front-edge wind resistance by easily 80%.

7. Enjoy this nice cover with a little creativity!

All the positive reviews are right. I just installed and it’s just as describe in reviews. I’m adding lots of pictures to help your decision. If I’d had some of these it would’ve been easier to decide. Two concerns were presented. One was the rear warping at the tail gate as seen in another review. I think it was due to not clamping the back latch properly. Mine did the same but was fixed with a secured clamping. The second was the middle support bar that some commented on. It is bent up but for structural purposes. It’s done to provide more rigidity. It’s bowed up for added strength but it is noticeable. The corners at the front will allow minimal water in bed but could be sealed with the provided weather strip. I didn’t need this but in rainy areas it would be a must. Lastly, if you are traveling and wish to secure your property, this is not the cover for you. As it’s vinyl a dull blade would cut the cover and your property is exposed. Not secured in that aspect but it’ll do great for groceries and luggage on trips. Added bonus, the led light is bright and magnetic. Pretty cool since I don’t have bed lights. Overall, very pleased and it folds up nicely if needed. I highly recommend.
Very quick installation (approximately 35min.). Hassle free with the included parts. So far it's working the way it's intended. Only time will tell for its durability. I purchased this for the double cab short bed Tacoma.
Overall pretty impressed by this cover for the price. I think the whole bed rail/track thing that Toyota has done with these beds is complete garbage, but there isn't much I can do about it. I was Leary of ordering because of the rail system but everything I needed was included. I didn't make any changes or have to mod anything. All the brackets and things I needed were included. The material of this cover is actually much better than the extang I had on my f-250. We will see as time goes how she holds up. To anyone considering this cover, just order it. It's nice and does the job. The only complaint I have is the back of the cover near the tail gate. The seal doesn't exactly hit the gate lip. It touches but it's just not centered over it like I would like it to be. In order to achieve dead center the cover would actually have to hang over the back bed panels. Everything else centers right. With that being said, I don't think there is anything this company can do about that either. It's the way Toyota made the bed.

Update 3/18/12: It rained pretty good yesterday and much to my surprise, the bed was really dry considering the little spots on each corner of the bed the have daylight coming through. I also got to take the truck on highway speeds today as I have a 45 mile drive to work and this cover didn't even act like it wanted to move. I seen earlier reviews that suggested movement from the front of the cab. Not the case here. I am also going to try and upload some detailed photos to give individuals a better idea of installation. Hope this helps.
I was skeptical, at first, when I ordered this tonneau cover because of its low price. Boy!, was I pleasantly surprised after I received it. The quality of the framework and the vinyl cover are first rate. Very well thought out design and execution: all metal frames and fasteners are corrosion resistant alloys or stainless steel. A question to customer support was answered accurately and reinforced my feelings that I made a good choice of vendor. The cover fits tightly to the 6' bed of my new 2017 Tacoma and will certainly keep out the Maine winter weather. I couldn't be happier.
Perfect fit, looks great! It stays down tight to the truck at highway speed, I've been through a high pressure car wash several times without as much as a drop. Watch for the tiny allen-screws on the braces, the instructions don't mention them but you will have to back them off a bit before they will fit into you bed rails. The bag it comes with to hold it is a bit chintzy, but it keeps the dust off of it when it is off the truck. Installs and comes off in minutes (one minute when you get the hang of it). Great tonneau!
Installed on my 05 Taco and I love it. Looks and fits awesome. I can't believe the price either. My only gripe is where the aluminum rails meet the plastic rail ends underneath the cover. I wish they were metal as I almost broke a front one while installing it. (I tightened the tie-down down too much and it started bending the joint excessively but I caught it in time and released some of the tension).

Overall, I do recommend this cover!
I no longer have this truck anymore but I thought it would be important to share my thoughts. I have a Tyger on my new truck, thats how much I like these tonneau covers. The best value brand in my opinion. On my 5 ft box Tacoma it was a very easy install, around 15 minutes. Didn't leak and operation was easy. Clamps held up but I knocked off one star because one bolt did come loose. Picture included shows the tonneau flipped back with my sons 26” bike. Rear tire was up against the tonneau, just an fyi if you transport bikes like we do. My 27.5” bike had to sit at an angle and tilted slightly. Otherwise best value priced tonneaus on Amazon. Recommend.
Great tonneau cover, works just as well as covers that cost 2 or 3 times as much. The tacomas have quite a few holes/gaps at the front of the bed that need to be sealed up to make this water tight but this is a fantastic cover. Easy to install and use, very nice cover.
I spent a few months researching different covers for my Tacoma. I finally had to pull the trigger on one until I could decide if I wanted a canopy or tonneau. I got this for the price and it has been a dream. I run my truck through the wash every week and I live in Vancouver, I have never found water inside!
I purchased this product for my 2016 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab. It was as easy to fit as described by others in their reviews and as stated in videos watched. The cover fits perfectly, looks great and so far is standing up to the elements (early days which is why I have not given a score for durability). For the price point?......I doubt you can purchase a cover as food as this one.
Fits perfectly on my 2014 Tacoma. The metal adapters for the cover to clamp into fits in the stock bed rails.

I added weather stripping to the back of the bed (nearest the cab) since there was a bit of a gap. The cover fits snug on the tailgate.

I’ve driven on the highway with the cover on, no issues.

For the price you really can’t beat it considering most tonneau covers are double the price.

EDIT: 1 year later and it still has held up. Absolutely love it, works well. No rips or tears, I’ve been through the bush with it too. No problem in a fully automatic car wash either, make sure it’s clamped down security. Water leakage has been fixed by adding more weatherproof strips between the top of box and tonneau cover (nearest front of truck)

Item was delivered one day earlier than expected. The cover was a perfect fit, and installed in minutes. All hardware and cover itself seem to be of very good quality.
I have owned much more expensive tonneau covers previously, and this item seems as good as ones for 3x the money.
Great piece at a great price.
Very happy customer.
Makes my brand new 20107 Tacoma look great!
This is a great tonneau cover for the price. Covers that compare to this one are more than double the price. Fits the truck perfectly. Easy to install, just clamps right on with the parts it comes with. No drilling or altering your truck box. Easy to take off the truck also. Don't know how long it will last but it comes with a good warranty.
Really like how well made this tonneau cover is. For the price, I'm impressed. I've had it on my truck now for about a week and so far it's great. The only thing I will say is, the main instructions sheet can be misleading if you own a 3rd gen Tacoma with the utility track.
Very nice cover! Fit my 2017 Toyota Tacoma trd sport 4 door with 6 foot bed like a glove. Have had it for almost 2 years now and it's still in perfect condition (2 winters) looks great and easy to take on and off if needed. Easy to install! Look sleek and clean, folding feature is handy!
The two securing mechanisms bolt loosened on its own and fell off. My suggestion would be to check it every once in a while and make sure it's tight

Well packaged, included a storage bag to put it in while not installed. Fit my 2018 Tacoma TRD Sport, long box perfectly.
