I used Zinus headboard brackets to hold my mattress in place. See attached picture
The welds on the middle section have separated in 3 different places after 3 months of use. Really really disappointed at poor quality of frame.
UPDATE-by February 2018 the two sides had completely separated from each otther
THE COMPANY DOES NOT RESPOND TO WARRANTY REQUESTS. You will see a ton of comments to negative reviews from the company stating that there is a 5 year warrant and providing email and phone number. Also, I have received no response to the phone number and email address left by the company to my original review. The 800 number goes straight to voicemail and they do not respond to email at their customer support email address.
I love this bed frame! I saw the other reviews about the mattress sliding and I also experienced this but I fixed it by adding a little hot glue to the slats, not gluing the mattress to the slats, but giving them some grip. Works great.
Bought this for my nephew back in July. Last night, his mom calls me and tells me frame broke. I couldn’t believe it, the description makes these seem indestructible. I ask my sister how it broke, and she tells me he just sat on one end to put on his shoes and BOOM, it broke. My nephew is teen weighing around 120lb, so I know for a fact he wasn’t the issue. I spoke with ZINUS Representative, and she told me the beds are covered for 5 years, as long the damage was on defective manufacturing. Will wait to see what happens on this case. If zinus does not replace this bed frame, will be extremely disappointed. Will update later on with my case.
UPDATE!!!! ZINUS agreed to replace the bed frame after sending them an email with purchase invoice and pictures of where/how it broke. The bed frame arrived today (12-13-2017). I am very satisfied with their warranty and customer service. If I ever need a new bed frame, i won’t hesistate to buy from them again. Thanks ZINUS!
Bought this in spring 2016. It was great while it lasted but towards the end of 2016/this year it started to fall apart. I’m not rough with the bed; I don’t jump or flop on it, I don’t have sex in it, I just hang out or sleep in it. The little metal lips where you rest the bars started to give out. They snapped off so there was nothing to hold up the bars. I’ve had to duct tape it several times but that’s only a temporary fix. It’s sinking in the middle. About once a week a bar or two will give out and I’ll have to tape it up again. I’m really disappointed in the bed frame. I’d be better off sleeping on the floor.
The bedframe is ok for my basic use in my apartment. I do have 2 negative comments. The spacing of the frame is 6" and you can feel the steel rod when you sit on the bed. I bought a 6" Millard foam mattress. Its ok when you lie flat as the weight is distributed. I am planning to install a plywood support. The second negative comment is that the corner will scrape your leg if you are not careful. My leg was scraped as seen on the pic. This reminds me to put something over it. Otherwise, it is easy to assemble, does not squeak, supports my weight and serves my basic needs
I just added a board from Lowes that cost $7. It is much better now.
I love this frame. I was in a bind and was having to sleep on an air mattress for a while... I didn't like to have to crawl in and out of bed so I got this to ride it up a bit. I have to say, since I was on an air mattress, it made a bit of noise but I just put a sheet down on the frame and then placed the air mattress on top and that resolved that issue. I am a toss and turner ALL NIGHT kinda person this bed does not squeak and can sustain a compound weight of 350 comfortably. Putting it together took 15 minutes, I'm a short female with NO arm strength and struggle even with the most simplest of IKEA guidelines. I 100% recommend to anyone looking, you will not be disappointed
Was exactly what we wanted. Can easily store tupperware clothes bins underneath. The only change I'd make is that the corners are kinda sharp. I'd rather see it have slightly rounded corners, like a mattress. I have bumped my shins a few times on the corners when the mattress shifts a little to one side. Which also brings up the issue that this thing is painted and slick, and the mattress does move around a little on the frame. If it bugs me more, I'll put some grip tape or other friction tape on the frame to keep things in place.
Advantages 1. Easy to assemble 2. Sturdy will hold the weight of a fairly heavy person 3. You don't need a box spring just a mattresses. 4. The company sells hardware to attach a headboard at Amazon.
Disadvantages 1. Mattress tends to slide off the frame a little since there is nothing to hold it in place. 2. If you need underbed storage this is not the best, since I have purchased this the company has introduced frames with higher under bed clearance and more modern lines. 3. The under storage is restricted by the two middle legs and bracing in the center of the bed and the side supports for all four legs.
Very sturdy and comfortable, don't need another person to assemble the frame, about 15-20 minutes to assemble. however, the only thing is the mattress can move freely on the frame, seems there should be something between the frame and mattress keep the mattress in place and dont move.
I ordered two bed frames and I will not say that I am disappointed with my purchase. The bed frames were really easy to assemble and the package had all necessary tools to join parts together. There was also and instruction manual within the box. The delivery speed was great. The only thing that disappointed me was the size of frame. My single bed remain 2_3 inch out side the bed frame from both the sides, so it fears me to fall out of bed. Though I never fell for once till now. Overall a good purchase.
DON'T BUY!!! I thought this was a great item at first, now just four months later it is falling apart! Two of the supposed welded slats have snapped off while just laying down. the person using it is only 115 lbs and it has an 8" memory foam mattress on top. Very disappointed!
I'm very happy with the storage space and it works well with my Memory Foam 12 Inch Green Tea Mattress. I'm about 30 inches high laying on my mattress and 2 inch mattress topper and I have to hop a little bit to get into bed, but I don't mind the hop (I'm 5'10", it's not that much of a hop). The storage is worth it for me too. It's more stable than my previous wooden frame that recently broke. The 14 Inch SmartBase hasn't moved out of place since sleeping on it. My wooden bed used to move from flopping on it because of the hardwood floors.
One of the plastic pieces that closes off the hollow metal bars was missing, but it's not noticeable and the frame is steady. It's not even an aesthetic problem because you can't see it when assembled, it gets wedged into place just fine. It just triggers my OCD a little because I know it's missing the one piece.
I bought this in twin for my picky teenager who has taken to sleeping on the couch because her other bed was noisy and she'd wake up whenever she moved around in her sleep. She's actually used the bed now and it's silent! There's a ton of space underneath for all her extra bedding and random items. The fact that the feet aren't right at the edge of the frame is also nice. We have baseboard heaters (that we dont use, but take up valuable floor space) so having the ability to have the bed up against the wall is a nice bonus as well. The mattress stays firmly, which I was skeptical about since there's only a few strips of double sided tape to hold it, but the mattress doesn't budge at all!
We've had issues with bad bedframes and mattresses that sink for literally years. This frame is solid, really well built, and doesn't sag whatsoever. It was easy to assemble and very lightweight. Very capable of handling any social agenda you have as well. Really very happy and don't imagine we'll change to another frame anytime soon.
Easy to put together and fits perfectly. My cat's love the storage space underneath to hide or play under. I absolutely love the fact it came three days early and the packaging inside was a nice touch too. Sleep quality is great. I don't feel the bars through the mattress or hear anything when I move around.
My roommate is ordering one for himself after seeing how easy it is to assemble.
Will definitely buy another in the future and recommend this product to others. For sure worth the investment.
I was so worried and confused before I ordered this item. But I received, installed and set up my son's bed I was happy. I have bought more 3 metal frame but none of them I was happy. Literally I had to though out. It worth it the money. With one 10" height mattress its gave me good stranded height of bed. I have just received it on Saturday. I will recommend it for sure.
Assembly is amazingly simple. At first you don't think so, since it comes in 40 peices but they all snap into place with few screws. Only took 15 minutes. Extremely stable with no wiggle or noise.
The only complaint I have is that it's slightly bigger than the Zinus mattress I bought. There's a good inch lip, despite the mattress being made for this frame.
I've been shopping around for a reliable and portable bedframe as I tend to move around a lot. I finally made up on my mind on this one and feel like getting all the bangs for my buck. It came in a flat box that can be carried easily by a petit girl like me. Assembling is fun and fast, instructions are easy to follow. The complimentary cards and ratchet add a nice touch. The sturdy bedframe fits my twin-sized bed like a glove and my bed doesn't slip at all even though I didn't peel off the non-slip band on 4 bars in the middle. The bedframe is of perfect height and free up the space if you look for extra storage room underneath the bed.
