This bed was a complete fiasco, but it turned out OK only because it’s new owner loves it. But she’s four and didn’t have to suffer through the process. Depends on if you want to spend HOURS on the phone and WEEKS trying to get parts that are not damaged. This entire bed had to be reshipped THREE times. Even then, there were important pieces that show which had scrapes and dents. The worst scrapes were on each and every headboard in the same spot. The dents were on the guard rails and headboard. Amazon customer service was excellent, especially when I went up to the supervisor level. Because of the holidays and arriving company, and because we had already taken down the toddler bed to make room for this (and it was weeks, as each shipment took at least 5-6 days), we settled for the best parts out of three beds and a price adjustment. Amazon actually removed it from availability at one point due to the issues. I had crib rail covers that were like new and had the idea to use them on three sides to cover some of the damage. It also makes it a bit cozier. Assembly wasn’t difficult, but it’s important to lay out all pieces before you start. Many are almost identical but wouldn’t work if you mixed them up. I used removable stickers to mark each piece by the corresponding letter in the instructions. However... the instructions are inaccurate in several spots, so you have to pay attention and use common sense. Overall, the bed seems sturdy and has been the perfect height for tucking in at night. I plan to check and tighten all of the screws again soon. There’s about 38.5” under it, which is plenty of room for a short dresser or for kids to play. We’re using the crib mattress underneath for a reading spot. Since this picture, we added a strand of white led lights (made for a Christmas tree) and a clip on light for reading. I wouldn’t buy it again and go through the huge hassle, but I’m glad she loves it. Thanks again to Amazon for great service. I did suggest to the supervisor that Amazon be more selective about the items they identify as “AmazonBasics”. Even if they don’t mean to, it conveys a certain expectation that, while not fancy, the product is reliable and a good value. I would not describe this bed that way due to the obvious problems with quality control.
