I've purchased this frame just under a year ago. Over the last few months, the frame has developed serious structural problems and I wanted to let others know, as my original review has been liked by so many of you.

I don't have time to go into great detail at the moment, other than to say I believe the king model when used with a heavy foam mattress is more likely to develop issues than a smaller frame. I will post more detail along with photos as time permits. I haven't formally engaged the manufacturer for a resolution yet, but I will be.

It's my sincere hope that what I am experiencing is just a one-off issue due to a defect in the wood, and that others who purchased this frame based on my original review don't run into the same problems I am experiencing.

Here's a great example of a product that is actually over-engineered (in a good way). Everything, from the instructions to the manner in which the pieces are fastened show a high degree of attention to detail. The parts are marked clearly. The fasteners, caps, washers, etc. all come in a well-organized bubble pack with labels for each item on the cardboard backing. They even provide extras of each kind of item in a separate area marked as 'extra parts'.

As far as the assembly, I did it myself and took my time. I think it took about 90 minutes from start to finish, inclusive of unpacking the box and taking an inventory. The trickiest part is that it's not immediately clear to that the numbers in the instructions usually refer to the joints, not parts. Once you figure that out, it's a breeze.

With regard to the fit and finish, there aren't any compromises as far as I can tell. The entire unit, save for a single center support beam is made of high-quality wood, and the finish (in my case walnut) is beautiful. It should be noted that the wood is NOT hardwood (walnut, cherry, whatever), nor do they advertise it as such. It's probably pine that's been stained to a particular color. Had they used actual hardwood, you'd be looking at 2-3 times the cost. Regardless, the result is quite pleasing to the eye as well as the touch. Once assembled, it's very solid.

A very cool feature of this bed is that the slats are supplied in to sets. Each set consists of 7 slats, pre-attached to one another with plastic/velcro straps on each end. Because of this, you don't have to worry about measuring the distance between the slats and placing them evenly. On top of that, the straps are velcro that lay down on top of the rails, with affords not only precise alignment, but eliminates any tendency to shift or fall out of place over time.

I can't think of any way they could improve this product. I highly recommend it.

I hate the bed. Everything started to fall apart less than a week after I put it together following the instructions that came with it. The whole bed felt flimsy from the beginning. In the first two weeks of use I had to tighen the screws of the center metal frame every other day. Then they would not stay in place. Next the side support started to become loose and I had to tighten them from time to time. The legs would not stay straight and the bed and each time I was going to bed I felt that the bed was going to fall apart. The bad news is that I cannot return it.
Buyer beware!

My husband used to make furniture and usually refuses to buy anything that isn't vintage..."They just don't make anything like they used to." Well, we took a chance on this Zinus bed, hoping it would match our bedroom furniture and that it would be a quality piece. We could not be happier. From the moment we opened the box it was nothing less than very impressive (I'm getting nothing return for this review). It was well packed and had extremely easy instructions to follow. The entire time we assembled it we both commented on the quality of every piece and the ease of putting it together. We really hoped to find a match to our dressers and night stands which are a dark cherry finish. We could not be happier. So to anyone else like us who relies heavily on reviews, this bed is for you. It is solid wood and very sturdy.

I purchased this bed to go with a king-sized Tuft & Needle mattress, and I am pleased with the purchase.

The packaging was simple enough and still kept the components well protected. I found the instructions to be relatively simple and mostly clear (there were a couple of stickers missing from the foot of the bed, but it was obvious what piece it was and where the others fit). They included ample spare parts in addition to the hex wrench, which is all that is necessary to put it together. We took our time and I think we had it together in under a half hour.

The construction of the bed itself is sturdy, and it really does not squeak, which is much appreciated. Part of the reason for getting a memory foam mattress was to help avoid disturbing my partner if I get up earlier, etc., so the anti-squeaking measures are great. The wood is a beautiful darker stain and I was happy to be able to find a solid wood bed at this price. It definitely seems like a great value. The clean lines and simple design while still being a more traditional wood color were a good balance.

It was a little shorter than I was expecting, but it actually makes it more comfortable when sitting on the edge of the bed.

All in all, a solid bed and a solid purchase.

I love this frame. It was easy to put together and all parts were perfectly packaged. It seems very strong and durable. It also looks great! I have only used it for a week but so far I am impressed. No squeaks or loosening of the fasteners.

I like the bed frame, easy to assemble but not sure about how sturdy as i'm still waiting for my mattress to be delivered. I ordered both together over a month ago....... received the frame in a few days but still no mattress. Foolishly i put the frame together right away thinking the mattress would arrive within the next day or two..... Now I have a lovely looking frame but I cant use....... Please send me my foam mattress........
