This is exactly what I wanted. A canopy bed, wood headboard, metal frame, black and medium wood.
Easy to build, honestly if you build furniture often you don't even need the instructions, everything is labeled.
Not a lot of storage under the bed, but that's not why you buy a platform bed now is it?
Could have a bit of sturdiness on the top rails, they will bow a bit if you put your weight on them. But also it's a bed not a jungle-jim so you aren't meant to hang from it. I have about 300ft of vine on mine, holds that and the lights perfectly well.
This purchase has been a total disappointment.
My girlfriend and I have used our quarantine to do completely revamp our living space. The last room on our agenda was the bedroom. We searched high and low for the perfect bed. It was the first one we would buy together, as a couple. We did our research. We found it.
We originally wanted the Suzanne w/ footboard. The ground clearance was a bit low for our taste (7") without a boxspring. The diagrams provided by the manufacturer are helpful, but they lack the dimension of the interior platform surface. Both the boxspring and frames we were looking at were manufactured by Zinus. So, we contacted customer support. We explained that we wanted to order a boxspring to provide additional height to our chosen model, and asked which of their products would be appropriate for the task. We were told that the platforms were designed to work without additional support and a boxspring was not recommended.
Fine. The canopy model sits 5 inches higher, and she has always wanted a canopy. Problem solved. Zinus doesn't have either model in stock, but Amazon does. It's only $75 more, and I have Prime. Cool. No biggie. We list our old bed, and prepare to paint. We arrange for everything to be ready by the time bed arrives. We knock it out of the park.
Delivery date comes...no bed. Check the tracking. It hasn't even shipped. Ok. There's a plague on. No reason to get bent out of shape. Three days (and nights of sleeping on the floor) later, the bed shows up. The box is a little beatup, but it's here. The inner box has a decent sized gouge and tear, but everything looks okay. No torn plastic sleeves. No glint of metal through powder coating. It's not until I have everything unpacked and I move on to the second step that I find the damage. It's not horrible, but its definitely not something that I'm going to accept, having paid $400 for, after tax.
Amazon directs me to the manufacturer. The manufacturer directs me back to Amazon. Amazon no longer sells that product directly (Other Amazon sellers do, though). They'll refund me. If I take it in gift card, it'll only be a couple of hours, otherwise 3-5 business days. If I do the gift card I can order from one of the other sellers, immediately.
Did I mention that these other sellers want almost $75 more, before tax? They aren't prime eligible, either. I'm still crashing on the floor, like a college sophomore that has recently eschewed the trappings of material possessions.
Amazon was kind enough to extend an $10 credit, as compensation.
Is a beautiful bed, super strong, easy to build. Instructions a little confusing at the beginning but ones you understand them is pretty easy, just follow the numbers.
I love it but it came with scratches, and a little hole in the wood. The box is really big and heavy for one person.
Great bed once asseble, it feels sturdy and it looks really nice. one of the metal beams came with a big dent in it though. had to heat the metal over a flame and hammer it back into shape to assemble. otherwise great bed
Love it! It doesn’t make a lot of noise like i thought it would. Its very sturdy and comfortable.
It met all of my expectations. Very sturdy and easy to assemble so I hard. Lol. And it looks good in my room.
