Shocking does not even describe how well these work. We have a huge armoire of solid wood which must weigh close to 750 pounds. It was so heavy that the only way I could even budge it on the carpet was to sit down, back against the wall, and push with my legs. This would move it an inch or two. So, we needed to move it into another room entirely. The choices were total disasembly (which we did before and took a few hours of painstaking work), or try something new. We tried these.
Oh...my...god.
They work. Not kinda. But totally. It took all my strength to lift each leg up a few inches to slide these under. And then....I just pushed the beast and it slid along. Not effortless, but like it was 80 lbs, not 800 lbs. Truly. I still cannot believe it.
And, they did not break after I used them. And hell yes I am going to use them again, and like, forever.
Moved a huge four poster bed myself. My son could not believe it! Used the lever lifting device to place the pads under each post and slid the pads under each one of the posts. You gotta have them for those big heavy jobs! This bed would have had to be dismantled otherwise.
These large pads are designed for heavy furniture. However, the plastic slider material is the same thickness as the very small size furniture sliders. When I tried to use these to move a very heavy king size bed on a carpeted floor, when I placed the leg of the bed in the center of the foam pad, the plastic buckled in the middle and actually made it harder to move the bed. I've used the smaller size furniture sliders before and they work great, but these need to be made of a thicker/stronger material when used with furniture that is very heavy - exactly the kind of furniture they were designed to work with. I see all the very positive reviews and can only conclude that those people used these with furniture that is relatively light.
I've been staring at my piano that is not flush against the wall for the 5 weeks since we moved in. The only male in my house is 4 years old so after wracking my brain (And mostly just putting it off), I decided to order this. It's possible that I just missed any weight capacity in the description but it said "for Heavy Furniture" so I ordered it and waited for my shipment. Well, the punchline is that my piano is still exactly where it was 2 days ago except I was able to muscle it center (which I did WITHOUT the sliders), but it's still 3 inches from the wall. The moving sliders are now dented and bent too so I guess I'll be throwing them in my storage shed.
A couple of factors to note:
-I have thick plush carpet. So much so that my piano sinks in about half an inch just sitting on the carpet.
-There is very little clearance from the bottom of the "wheels" to the bottom of the piano to begin with. Add in the sinkage in to the carpet and getting the sliders under the furniture is pretty damn near impossible without help. Of course, if I had help, we could've put the piano where it belongs without these.
-My piano is one of those old solid pieces. I've handled pianos that are lighter but this thing is a beast.
I gave the sliders 3 stars even thought it didn't get the job done for these reasons:
1. I like that they are nice and big. Probably works fine with "[relatively] heavy furniture"
2. It glides well. I know this because my 4 year old stood on 1 on each foot and I pulled him around on the carpet.
3. The "lip" or edges are pretty low so you can get away with minimal lifting to get your "[relatively] heavy furniture" on to it. But there is enough lift on the edges so they don't just slide away.
I was skeptical that these sliders would handle the antique monstrosity I needed to move. The fact that I had to get a 2.5 ton hydraulic floor jack just to get this 800+ pound cabinet high enough to slide the movers under (see picture) tells you the challenge. But after inserting the movers I am now able to slide the cabinet while filming with one hand (see video). Super Sliders said "challenge accepted"!
These things created more problems than they solved. They do not stay in place. They pop out and become eyesores underneath the furniture/appliance, if they even stay under the item at all. Returned and replaced locally for 5 bucks and have had no issues.
Wouldn’t order again. Should have returned. These did not hold up to moving heavy furniture. They also became scratched easily so I didn’t want to attempt using on hardwood floors.
Maybe these were meant for carpet use only? There are many less expensive ones that provided better usage.
I recently bought a HEAVY adjustable bed that weighs a ton once assembled. It has six legs and NO wheels. After assembling it, I had to move it into position and could NOT do it with two people as it would have to be lifted and carried since it had no wheels. I have medium pile carpeting in the room where this bed is. It was HARD to lift each of the six legs up to get these sliders under each foot because the bed is so HEAVY, but once they were in place, I felt like the person in the video. I am NOT exaggerating. I could push that bed anywhere I wanted to with TWO FINGERS. I NEVER thought it would work so well. Glad I remembered these things from ads many years ago on TV.
Looked ok Amazon for something to easily move heavy furniture as the room was being decorated. We had two heavy couches which once installed could not even be pushed along on the carpet. Super sliders were the solution, they are now left in place. The decorator was impressed too. It has made the job of moving heavy furniture so much easier the couches glide across the carpet now easier for cleaning behind etc.
I used them for moving a wardrobe and as I am a pensioner and was having to wait for someone to come and help me move the wardrobe I managed it on my own that's how easy it was
I can move the heaviest of furniture on my own with these amazing ‘movers’. This is the second set I have bought because I have left the first lot in place. Makes is easy to clean behind the otherwise unmovable.
My settee's and sideboard are so heavy to move but once I have these under the feet they just slide so easily across the carpet. Highly recommend.
These are great. I have actually left them under the legs of my 2 sofas, so that moving them to clean is easy. They glide with the furniter and because of the shape, there is no unsightly showing of the item beneath the sofa.
