Before seeing you in person, I thought maybe you might prefer living in a more commercial or clinical setting, but when you finally arrived I was so impressed with your hard working attitude, solid build yet slim stature, and how well you fit in to our home. Unlike others with your same exterior makeup, you stay so nicely groomed and resist grime and smudges and you require such little maintenance to retain that wonderful glow that we've grown to admire. And would I hide you away in a dark room because of what you are? Heck no! You’re gorgeous and you shine! You’ve heard the compliments.

You're also as nice on the inside as you are on the outside and I knew from the minute I dressed you in that unfashionable loose fitting 15 gallon tall kitchen bag which you happily accepted, that you were the one for us. Others may have rejected that, but you easily made it fit and didn’t require anything custom or a special size. You're an easy keeper!

You work hard to keep us happy, organized and clean and you accept anything we may throw your way, no matter how disgusting it may be. You're discreet and you always keep a tight lid on it all. You perform your work in such a quiet, gentle manner and you never get mad and slam things. We seem to step on your foot a lot and you never complain or get crazy and flip your lid. It seems you’re able to hold a LOT in, and there's times I’m worried you’ll explode having to put up with the odor, weight and stress. But somehow you persevere. And you’re so happy when you see me approaching with a new Fabreeze Lemon scented Glad bag. You sure don't ask for much!

I just want you to know AmazonBasics Waste Receptacle, you’ve been a wonderful addition to our home and you’re AWESOME...don’t let anybody dare just call you plain old TRASH! Oh, and Thanks for not sharing anything with those 2 nosy trash-seeking canines that live here too!

Feel like a fool and should have listened to all other reviews. Garbage can comes dented and unable to close. Wanted to do a return and would not get another trash can for another TWO MONTHS. Save yourself and either go in person to buy a trashcan or order a different one without tons of reviews of it coming damaged

This trash can has gotten my roommate more ass than a Taco Bell toilet seat. As soon as he activates the HANDS FREE step with his size 8 foot (yea, I know), the lid quickly and smoothly opens...taking all that any man can throw at it...much like his dates. With the slow controlled lowering of the lid upon release of the foot pedal, it just sends the message of how in control you really are. I've seen more than one pair of womens undergarments in there after they were deemed too soaked, and thus ruined. You've been warned.

Quality is really bad. Didnt have to think twice when I returned it. Very weak and gets easily damaged, no durable at all. Worst trash can I ever tried. Get what you pay for. No recommended!

this item is well made and super good looking for the house, it is a nice item I must say, specially for the price, however, with that said....

I purchased it in August, only for it a month later, when it arrived it did not work correctly, the pedal opens the trash can but once I let go the peddle didn't go up and the can did not close by itself.

I called customer service with the complain to get a replacement, guess wha??? I HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER MONTH FOR TH REPLACEMENT, this item takes an average of 1 to 2 months to deliver!!!! absurd.....

I bought this trash bin to hold recyclables. It is slightly smaller than my 13 gallon trash bin. The lid is soft close so it is very quiet. The plastic inner liner is easy to clean. The box it was shipped in was double wall cardboard - very sturdy. I'm impressed with the quality of the bin and the reasonable price.

This was purchased to replace a plastic kitchen trash can whose lid often fell off. This can is SUPER. It looks great, and with the plastic inner bin, I can put in the plastic garbage bag and it doesn’t rip/get stuck on the opening mechanism. The lid opens and closes smoothly, and doesn’t slam shut. It is heavy enough not to get pushed around like the other one did.

Originally bought the 50L size can, but sent it back for smaller 30L size. This is a nice looking garbage can and it works mechanically well. The problem is that regular size garbage bags do not fit. Regular 13 gallon bags are 24 inches high, but this can is 25.5 inches high. Who designs a garbage can that does not use standard size bags? One of the posted answers to the above questions states that regular size bags fit. They may fit inside the can but you can not secure them over the rim of the can without adding some type of spacer to the bottom of the can. What a nuisance! I would not recommend this can, simply because regular bags do not fit.

 Out of the box this bin looks great... However when using the foot pedal to open the lid you expect it to be a nice easy press but that is not the case. You have to press extremely hard because the lid sticks and then it shoots open and bangs around. Poorly designed.

Ordered this item based purely on the previous countless excellent product reviews from customers.
As such the item came with high expectations.
Arrived on time and extremely well packaged. Straight out of the box the bin is clearly solid and well made. The pedal and bin lid worked well (without a bin liner) and the inner bucket is a bonus making it extremely easy to remove and replace the bags. There’s a small hole to the rear of the bucket allowing you to push any excess into it allowing for a tight fit and to hide the bag from view on the outside.
Bin all set I instantly noticed that at times you have to almost stamp on the pedal to make the lid open, it’s so intermittent that I can’t work out why it’s doing it, I’ve checked the bags aren’t preventing the lid from opening and I’m finding it a little frustrating and if it continues I can see issues arising with the moving parts in the near future due to the force required to open the lid, it springs open with such force that it opens to the fullest as if you are about to remove the bag, yes the lid holds itself open if you lift it open fully, requiring you to then manually push the lid forward to allow it to close again. The whole point in buying this bin was to allow hands free contactless use due to covid 19 and at present it isn’t providing that.
It’s still new and I’m hoping that perhaps it will sort itself out, I want to give it a good crack before contacting amazon again and hope I don’t need to return it.

A few months in, lid was still getting stuck. If only I’d thought of reshaping the “metal” bin in the first place.
Took the inner bucket out, laid it on its back, lightly stood on the front of the bin to bend it a little and bingo, it now doesn’t catch at all and hasn’t done so in the 3 weeks since bending it straight.
Never though for a second that a metal bin coming in protective packaging the way this did would be out of shape.
Anyways if your lid catches, try bedtime the bin into the shape it was obviously meant to be and it will work. Not the best but it now works so

I am very happy with this purchase! It’s perfect and beautiful! The size is perfect too. I was skeptical whether it’d be too small, too big but it’s just right. It opens quickly which is great, and it shuts slowly. Nice and sleek, it matches our other appliances making our kitchen look nicer! It’s made of good quality. I put the high chair next to it so that you can see how tall it is to give you an idea.
