A sturdy, good looking cover. Looks just like the illustration. Heavy duty canvas-like material. Appears to be well made, but I just bought it. It has sewn seams which I think hold up much better than "fused" seams, where the pieces are heated and melted together. I don't know if it is waterproof (no rain). However (and this has nothing to do with the chair cover itself) Amazon appears to be coding their software to squeeze a few extra dollars out of customers. The first time I looked at this cover, it had a very attractive price. I then looked at other covers, but when I came back to this cover about ten minutes later, the price had gone up. This is the third time this has happened to me on Amazon. At first, I thought I was just unlucky and was in the middle of a price change. Now I think it is an intentional trick. I think Amazon figured out that if you come back to something you already looked at, you've probably decided to buy it, and a slightly higher price won't deter you. I hope I'm wrong. I don't like dirty tricks.
First I'd like to say that I like these covers and will probably buy them again! With that said, I did have a couple issues with the five covers I bought and the reason why I only gave them 3 stars!
The first Issue I had was w/ there UV protection, or lack of UV protection. After just a couple of months in the Carolina sun they started fading! If you look at the pictures I've uploaded (the landscape oriented ones) you can see how much they've faded over 15 months. (BTW, the burgundy umbrella in the background is a sunbrella brand umbrella, and as you can see from the pics, has great UV Protection!)
The second issue I had (which I also think has to do with the lack of UV protection in the covers) has to do w/ there durability. When I first got them, they seemed to be made out of a nice strong canvas material. But after being out in the sun for a year the fabric seems to have weakened. Last week of one of them ripped while putting it on the chair. (See Portrait Picture)
Anyway, I'm hoping to get another 3-6 month out of the remaining four covers that aren't torn. But will update my review when they've met their maker! Right now it looks like you can expect to get between 1-2 years of use out of them if no additional protection is added to them!
If I do get these covers again, I'm definitely going to apply some type of UV protectant to them periodically. Hopefully that will make the color last and prevent the material from weakening.
Hope this Helps!
FANTASTIC, strong and very good water repellent qualities!! I don't normally review things, but this product deserves it! We are one of the families who just went through the "Dirty side" of hurricane Harvey! We sustained high winds and rains for 5 days (almost 30" of water in my area). I would see our patio furniture and the covers flapping, shaking and completely wet and wondered what it'd look like after (wet, mildew, etc?). Today's the first day we get sunshine. I went to check the patio stuff, uncovered the furniture, and EVERYTHING WAS DRY! Not a spot, no mildew, no smell of humidity! I would buy these covers again!
I was so impressed with the way these are made. They are extremely durable, waterproof and they look really nice on my deck. They were the only covers that I found that would fit my furniture. There are many other types of covers, but these were the only ones that I know will last me for years and not just one season and tear apart. I also LOVE that every cover comes with a clip where you can clip to each chair leg so you know they will not blow off of your furniture and keeps everything under it intact so you do not have to worry about losing anything under the cover. Besides the chair covers, I also purchased the ultimate 3 seat patio sofa cover. I have received so many compliments on them and have asked where I purchased them. I am extremely satisfied and I very highly recommend purchasing. And the price is is unbelievable for thr product.
Duck Covers Patio Chair Cover, Sofa Cover and Loveseat Cover all Purchased May 10, 2017. San Diego back yard, south facing with afternoon sun. Furniture sits under an aluminum patio cover (pergola), so partial sun in early-mid afternoon and full sun mid-late afternoon once it drops below the pergola roof line. One year later, the covers are highly faded, look like they're 10 years old. The fading mostly occurred in the first 6 months. They haven't cracked, or otherwise disintegrated yet, so they are still doing their primary duty. However, it's quite clear these do not stand up to a San Diego sun's UV rays as advertised. Very disappointed in these, especially for the high price. While it's true I can probably keep using these for another year or maybe more, it comes at a price of looking like an abandoned piece of furniture in an open field. Horrible. I'm giving it 2 stars only because thankfully, they have maintained their mechanical qualities so far. The cover in the middle of the group was purchased only a few months ago and is one step down from the Ultimatesl. So far it hasn't faded like the Ultimates.
Excellent quality and looks great.
Just received this so i cannot comment on long term quality however they feel and look great.
My chairs are in between the 29"x30"x36" cover and the 32"x37"x36" cover they make. I ordered one of each with intent to order 3 more of whichever fit my chairs best. I opened the smaller one first and it actually fits a chair larger than the description. My chairs are actually 32" DEEP so i was concerned they would be stretched out and not fit. Wrong. They actually fit past the 32" depth and thus no need to open the larger ones.
An added bonus for longer-term storage is they have straps to attach under the legs to help keep the covers snug as well as an elastic cinch cord.
Overall these appear to be a very good value and well made. I will update at the end of this summer.
*I tried to order the 3 other covers today and now they are out of stock on Amazon!
The Duck Covers were absolutely great! The material was heavier than we expected which is a good thing as they will last a long time.
They are also made very well and the stitching is strong.
After receiving our first product which was a patio love seat cover we knew within a few minutes that we had to get the chair covers as well. So we ordered 2 of them and we are very satisfied.
My husband wants to know if Duck Cover makes 'boat covers' as well?
If not, that is something they should look into.
Again thank you for your great products.
I've only had the covers for a short time but the quality appears to be very good. So far we haven't noticed any that leak and the tie-offs are a nice touch on windy days. Make sure you order the actual size you need, we went big just in case and they are a little sloppy because of it. I just wish they had the right size for the ottomans and table, maybe later ?
My chairs were 34 inches in width and there was still a little wiggle room, bought these after reading reviews that stated it, same goes for the 54 inch loveseats, mine were 54 1/2 inches wide and they fit just nice ! Well worth the purchase.
I've only had this cover for maybe a month or two but we've had a LOT of rain and even some small hail. I have checked the seat cushions on my chair underneath the cover and they've stayed completely dry. The water just beads up on this. Highly recommend.
They look very nice, excellent workmanship and I am looking into getting more for the rest of my patio furniture.
