I love the chair, my wife loves the chair, as we literally use it every day to rock our daughter to sleep since she was born. After a few months, the bearings did start squeaking, so I have to periodically oil them. Kind of a hassle, but not a deal breaker, as like anything it requires maintenance. After about 8 months of steady use, a lower bearing went out, so I looked up on their website, could not figure out a part number for it, so I emailed them explain the issue, attached photos of the bearing, and the MFG label under the chair, and they emailed back stating that they summited an order for me. Later got an email with a tracking number. To my surprise, they sent me a whole new chair. Wow, all I needed was a bearing. So yes it was unfortunate that I had a bearing go out, but what great customer service to send a whole new chair. Thank you very much!
Love this Glider! We have had one for 2 years and love it and just picked up another one. The second one just arrived and 3 snaps were crushed so couldn't attach armrests, but it would seem this is pretty common with shipping, unfortunately. No problem though, just call up Stork Craft customer service and they will send you the replacements for free. (takes 10-14 days) Very nice! Don't bother with Amazon for things like snaps or cushion replacement as they will just have you send the whole chair back. The customer service number for Stork Craft is 1-877-274-0277 call back if you hear a busy signal. You will need the model number, the date the chair was manufactured, and place of manufacture for the call. Those can be found under the seat of the glider....the assembly paper is NOT where you would find it as it's incomplete info. Finally, don't forget to be nice to Stork Craft customer service...they are sending out parts for free and we want them to keep doing so! Happy Gliding!
When i began assembly i discovered the item was shipped without a hardware pack. Called customer service and they told me it'd be 2 weeks to get the hardware shipped out. Instead i went to a hardware store and bought what i needed. Came home and started putting it together only to find out that the left arm was built wrong. It wasn't that they shipped two of the same side arms. It was literately constructed backwards. At that point i threw everything back in the box and returned it. From what little i was able to assemble it was clearly going to break at some point anyway. Was a very frustrating experience.
Even if it had come with all its parts i woulnd't recommend this chair for anyone over 180lbs. Id be scared to sit in it if i were heavier then that. Hardly anything supporting the bottom cushion. Also felt wobbly from side to side.
Dont waste your time dealing with this product.
***Update
By year two, the seat bottomed out. My husband ended up making a platform seat with support bars & it was SO uncomfortable. When we moved we tossed this in the garbage. My husband and I are still well under the weight limit including the terrible two toddler.***
This chair had potential. This has lasted for over a year, with daily use for naps, bedtime, and rough fussy nights. My husband and I are both under the weight limit even with the baby and within months the left arm came apart. We both lean to the right when we feed the bebe, so it didn't bother us too much. With liquid nails, extra screws, clamps, and more screws we reassembled the arm. After a few more months the whole left arm just fell and came apart. It has clicked since day one, but with constant rocking, it becomes just background noise.
It was easy to assemble.
The fabric can be tossed into the washer and dried and reattached.
After we are finished needing to use this chair, we will just throw it away. It isn't worth saving for next bebe, and with the left side CONSTANTLY broken, I am not handing it down.
Replacing after a year and a half of frustrating use. Wish I had spent the extra money on a more sturdy and comfortable chair.
The cushion inside arm rests has bunched up and I can't straighten it back out, so those are now useless, just hanging on the side. The chair came missing buttons to keep these visions/pockets pinned down, emailed about this with a "tough for you" type response. One of the major wooden back supports broke within 6 months of use. My husband was able to fix just enough to keep it semi-functional, but still will often come out making me lean to one side. I'm afraid what would happen if someone heavier rocked in it- I'm about 145 lbs.
With another baby on the way, we're testing chairs in person from companies with better customer service & literally tossing this to the curb.
I will say the ottoman still works well.
This was very easy to put together and easy to clean. I am 7.5 months pregnant and I was able to do it by myself. The print is cute and the back is very comfortable and you cannot feel the wooden spokes behind you like some others. It is not as luxurious as some of the overstuffed plush recliners but it also didn't cost us $600.
Originally my wife and I were impressed with this product. Its well priced and extremely comfortable. But after a month of use with our new baby, two of the springs in the seat shot out making it unusable (you would fall through the seat). I've fixed it up with a some zip ties till I can figure out how to keep the springs in place but was rather annoyed when we found this out.
I assume its common for the product as the springs are not fixed by anything besides friction, so its only a matter of time till they pop out.
I originally loved this chair! Super comfy and cute, unfortunately it broke less than a year after purchase. I Bought it in Sept 2018 and it broke in Jan 2019... I am 130 Ibs and only myself and my 6 Ibs baby sit on this chair, one of the support dowels at the front snapped RIGHT off. I also have the grey seat/back and white wood that is still in good working order.
I'm disappointed that there is an eyelet missing to snap in the arm rest cushion. I paid a decent amount of money and the product isn't as it should be.
Update: used for 2 months and I was never able to get the eyelet fixed, a spindle on the back broke and a button on the main cushion has fallen off.
I keep it covered with a blanket so the fact that I've lost a button is unreal.
It's not very comfortable for long feedings.
Overall I'm very disappointed.
My wife's father used to work for this company when they still have Canadian warehouses. She had one before and miss the comfort so I got one and thinking this cheaper one is the same as the more expensive ones you see here. The difference are the mats the more expensive ones are much thicker and have different material inside to be more comfortable. I'm not sure those are the same as the old ones but this one is definitely different. Nonetheless she used it everyday and is well build for the wood quality. Would be nice to buy the mats separately to replace she just put a pillow under for now.
So these mats are quite thin therefore not too soft. For the price and shipped to my door it is still a good deal.
So baby number 1 we made do with a hand me down antique rocking chair, while I was pregnant with baby no 2 I decided it wasn't going to cut it. I ended up ordering 2 (one for each nursery), I had 2 under 2. I LOVE the look and feel of these gliders, unfortunately the cushion inside one of the arms is all warped and messed up (no matter how much we adjust it the foam inside the cushion goes back to its warped state). Will be calling to see if I am able to get a replacement.
