Finally a mattress my husband and I can both agree on. I usually prefer firm mattresses and was worried this might be too soft on the cooling side, but after testing it for a week I found I was falling asleep faster, not sweating at night and waking up without back pain. I am pleasantly surprised! I hadn't been expecting such a difference with an online mattress in a box at such a great price point. It was easy to open up and even included a cutter (letter opener) that would open the plastic without harming the mattress. It quickly rose to its 10 inch height in one day. The edges are supportive enough that you don't sink off the edge when sitting there. You can move around on one side and it won't bother the other person sleeping across from you. The top layer is definitely cooling as it is summertime in AZ and I was always sweaty on my last memory foam mattress but I haven't been sweaty at all on this one! I sleep through the entire night without waking up. Incredible. My limbs do not fall asleep and I no longer have the back pain or stiffness I had before. From all the mattresses I have tried over the last 15 years, this one is definitely the best one. I am glad I decided to give this a shot.
I am a little under 200 lbs and my wife is half my weight. We needed a mattress that will support both our weights and our toddler kids occasionally. My wife prefers a softer mattress that supports her back and this one had the right support for her. The mattress supported her lower back so it does not arch too much, easing her lower back pain. As for myself, the mattress is on the softer side, but it is strong enough to support 200 lbs without slumping in completely. We are both able to sleep comfortably on this mattress. The foam does not sink in even with both of us laying on there. When one person moves, the mattress remains steady to not disturb the other person.
When the mattress arrived at our house, it was rolled up in plastic. We opened it and let it air out for a day so it does not smell like plastic. After a day, the mattress inflated to the right size and height. It was a bit heavy and big to carry up the stairs once deflated. If you do not have a ground floor bedroom, I recommend opening this up in the room where the mattress will stay.
Let me begin by saying that I'm not sure if it's the Texas heat or if this mattress is just that comfortable but since I received it, I spend many hours of my day using this mattress - to sleep, foremost, but also to lounge, watch tv, and browse my phone. Before I would actually do this on the sofa but now my bed has become the spot for me to be in.
When I decided to purchase a new mattress, it's because over the past year I have been slowly upgrading my entire bedroom including all my bedding, pillows, sheets, you name it. I had previously upgraded my mattress last year from a standard spring mattress I had had for 14 years to an 8 inch memory foam mattress - at the time this seemed like a good way to start getting my body used to a different sleeping base since I suffer from neck and back pain. The memory foam did help but after a few months, I thought it was just too firm so I thought I should either buy a topper or start thinking about a new mattress altogether. So I've spent now a couple of months looking around, looking at the larger brands out there and really considering my options since now there are just so many styles of memory foam and price tiers. When I saw this listing, I actually thought it was perfect, especially since I was becoming indecisive. Not only is it memory foam but it's flippable meaning I have two options for firmness and can see what my body prefers without the hassle of buying and returning multiple mattresses.
I purchased this mattress and waited about three weeks for it to be shipped. Once it got here, I opened it up in my living room on top of a drop cloth and it immediately started expanding, it was almost fully decompressed less than 2 hours later but I let it rest for about 9. Before moving this to the bedroom, I took some time to lay on both sides of the mattress and ended up picking the more plush side - the firm size which is on the bottom where the cover zips is a true firm. The plush side that I picked has about a two inch push feel so your body sinks in but not uncomfortably like say anything thicker or a topper. Their is still a lot of support firm support on the plush side.
The mattress is good looking as well - it looks like a high end mattress. The fabric for the mattress part is a breathable bamboo type style cover while dark charcoal trim in a canvas type fabric finishes off the edges. The mattress to me had a very faint odor when I first opened it but then it quickly dissipated over the course of about 2 days.
I have now been sleeping on this mattress for a few weeks and something else I'd like to point out for other people that are looking for options regarding neck / back pain is that you can immediately feel your body "align" into adjustment with this bed - meaning you feel that stretch happening when you're laying flat on the memory foam since it does a good job of cradling your body correctly and alleviating a lot of pressure in the upper back / neck area. I assume it would do a good job for those who also suffer from any lower back or hip pain since it is designed in a way that balances out the weight on it.
For the price point, it's worth the splurge especially if you were considering other well promoted brands out there but don't want to spend that much. This one is affordable, gets the job done and something I don't see myself upgrading from anytime soon. I'm very happy I decided to buy this mattress. It's completely what I was looking for and exceeded my expectations for an upgrade.
