When I first opened the box, the task seemed daunting. But I was surprised to find the instructions and assembly were very easy and well written. As a woman assembling this alone, it took me less than 30 minutes and everything fit perfectly in place. The shelves were heavy and sturdy, unlike the cheap kind you get at Wal-Mart for example. This item was well worth the money, I couldn't be happier with it!

I purchased this shelf because of it’s low height and long length. Though most of the reviews were 5 stars, I must have received a defective shelf. This unit basically has 2 sides and 6 support bars that are held together by a bolt on each end. Then there are 3 press wood shelves that each have 6 screws in the bottom to receive a small bolt that fits thru a washer that is welded to each support bar. The problem is when you line up one side of one shelf for the bolts to secure the shelf to the support to keep it in place, the other three bolts on the other end of the shelf are no where close to lining up with the washer for the screws on that side. This means that you are only able to secure one side of each shelf to the support bar. I tried angling the bolt on the other side in an attempt to start the threads and pull the shelf closer but the screw only went in so far due to the angle and when I reversed the bolt the screw came out of the pressed wood. Luckily the press wood shelves are heavy and though there are six screws to hold each shelf in place, three screws plus gravity seem to be enough to keep the shelf from moving. For the price (more than $125.00) and All the positive reviews, I really expected much better quality than what the shelf I received actually is!

I was looking for a low bookcase/stand that could accommodate a 4 foot grow light, and this fit the bill. The price was significantly less than what I had found with other sellers AND they ship to Alaska for free (VERY uncommon with furniture items like this). Kudos to Amazon for this.

I received the package quickly, and the box was in perfect condition. All parts were there, and in 100% good condition. I was able to assemble this by myself in 40 minutes. Everything fit together perfectly - screw holes all line up exactly, etc. The shelf boards are not "real" wood but they aren't going to be for a shelf in this price range. However, I'm actually surprised and pleased at the appearance of the shelf boards.

Overall, I think this is a lovely piece and I'm completely satisfied with my purchase.

As you'll see in the photos, all three wood boards were damaged upon arrival. not only that, but some of the metal frame was poking out of the shipping cardboard by over 6 inches upon arrival. No word back from seller; just want some actually undamaged boards so I can get what I paid for

This is a great little bookcase, very sturdy, a good quality product that will last for a good while. I purchased the black metal with slate grey shelves and it looks perfect in my living room. I bought it as a television stand for a 55" TV and it holds it easily with room to spare. I'm also using the bottom shelves for stereo gear that is fairly heavy and, again, no issues with the shelves sagging or otherwise not being able to handle the load. A breeze to put together, there was no damage to any of the materials when it arrived as some customers have noted. Would recommend it - no, in fact, I AM recommending it. A great product for what I feel is a reasonable price. And no, I am not being compensated in any way for writing this review.

I was looking for a low but deep enough to hold my stuff kind of bookcase that had metal sides and wood inserts, and this fits the bill perfect for my needs. Its heavy, and does the job! (yes the wood is laminate, but I don't have kids or anything so not worried about that!) I like the fact that the wood is inset amid the metal frame so it won't be easy to knick the edges.

I bought this as a TV stand and it is the perfect height. I looked everywhere for a TV stand and the prices ranged from £175 - £600! It took my son 20 minutes to put together, all the screws and instructions are provided. I have put our Sky box and DVD player on the shelf below with books on the bottom shelf and everyone who visits really admire the book case. Highly recommended.

Indeed it looks good but the pieces of wood on mine were quite terrible one had a chip on the surface, my advice is look at elsewhere.
