Love the look of the new TV stand that we just purchased.
Instructions say that they suggest 2 people assemble this product. I enlisted the help of my 2 year old daughter who was excellent at handing me the next cam lock, screw, or dowel.
Most people say to avoid building furniture with another person because it will lead to bloodshed and divorce. If I can assemble it with my 2 year old then consider this your marriage saver furniture.
It does have a ton of steps but they are detailed and easy to do. About the only thing you need another person for is to hold the doors when you are putting those on.
Like I said it looks great, its sturdy, and is easy to assemble.
I bought this because it was the cheapest TV stand of this width in a color that would not clash with my interior. There were several poor reviews that I would like to address. Yes it's cheap wood, and my piece has a couple of flaws but honestly for the price I would not expect better. The package came well packed and undamaged, so I can only assume the flaws left the factory like that. It is disappointing that is acceptable by the manufacturer, but it is not made in America. It is made by a mass producer of cheap furniture. Again I'll say for the price it is not unacceptable.
Now to address the assembly, the instructions were very clear. There were a lot of pieces, but there were also extras in case of mishaps. The instructions visually showed where every piece went. In a way that seemed tedious at first but if you followed step by step, most of the hardware was installed and the product came together quickly in the last few steps. I am a woman and did it all on my own except the placing of the top and if I were a bit stronger I could have managed that. But particle board is heavy and a piece that long could easily break if I dropped it, so I would recommend two people for assembly.
The over all look is cheap, but the product is sturdy for being made out of particle board. It has two little feet place directly under the interior walls that should help with sagging, as anyone who has had sheap particle board furniture knows can happen. Will this last forever? No, but it will last for years if not abused.
Easy to follow instructions. Took about an hour to assemble (I have a lot of experience with assembly). We use it for a 65" tv.
It comes in one large, heavy box and is very well packaged. Sturdy and well designed. Fireplace has two switches, one for flame effect and the other for 1400 watts of heat which easily heats a 12 x 16 room. The bottom doors have a black wire mesh and also have an arm support when open. This is a melamine over particle board construction but is very well designed. I would definitely recommend this to my family and friends.
I purchased this as a tv stand for my living room.
My first mistake was believing that this would be "reclaimed wood" as it states in the title. It's not. It's MDF and laminate, no wood anywhere on this piece of furniture.
The assembly is an IKEA like system. I have put a lot of Ikea stuff together in the past and have always had no problem getting the pieces steady and structurally sound. Even with literally 15 years putting similar systems together, this piece ended up a rickety piece of garbage. The pieces would just not come together in a reasonably safe acceptable way.
I got it together just fine, but it was just flimsy and looked cheap. I thought I might just keep it at first since it was such a pain to take apart and box for pick up - but $140 is $140. I took it apart and sent it back.
Do not waste your money. Go to Home Goods. For the exact same price you can get a true genuine wood stand.
This TV cabinet arrived quickly and came in great shape with no damage even though there was a small gash in the box ( It is so well packed and protected) Our dog seems to like the box it came in too, he has a cat soul. Was not difficult to put together and the directions were clear. I would say it took maybe close to 2 hrs to do and I helped my husband but if needed one person could put this together. Very sturdy and attractive cabinet. I like that out DVD's are behind cabinet doors now. We are using a 45" TV on it right now but plan to upgrade to a 55" TV and there definitely will be not problem fitting it on top of this cabinet. The price was good too seeing that it is available at the electronic store for considerably more.
Update: The product issues I spoke about have worsen. The items to hold the screws in place are constantly falling out onto the floor. I've need to put them back in every other day and tighten them. Also I put anything about 10 lb or off-center on top of it the cabin and I'll sways. Don't buy!
I absolutely love the look of this item, which is why I give it 4 stars. But it is not completely sturdy. The item does wobble a bit. This may be because the screws come loose, of their own accord, a bit. Double check your product to make sure there's no scratches. Mine had a few large ones, however they were on the bottom or inside so it didn't bother me in the long run. Also the sliding door has a problem going completely to the left. if is not a smooth transition at all and needs an extra to get in final position. I can work with that because it's the side aisle have my door on 90% of the time. The final product is lovely and those look good my space.
Easy to assemble once you really examine the instructions. Took me over an hour but I did it without my boyfriend because I was too impatient and excited to wait for him. Got this on sale and honestly it fits so well in my tiny one bedroom apartment. The barn door is awesome since I have cats. The closed end is where the drinkware is. Also... I ordered a small wine glass holder from Amazon and screwed it in to make more room for glasses (see pic)
Love the way this turned out! Super easy to assemble (did it by myself) and I think it looks great. Much lighter and easier to move than my prior one. I’m very happy with this purchase.
Although the look of this terrible is beautiful the screws don't match up with the parts provided and we have not been able to put this together, the screws do not fit and the parts don't work together.
This is a great looking, sturdy TV unit. The stand has a good weight to it and was really easy to build.
Our 55 inch TV fits nicely on top.
I love it. It was exactly what I was hoping for and even exceeded my expectations. I love the finish. Instructions were clear. I’m happy I had a set of screw drivers and an electricscrewdriver, it would have been a very slow build with only the Allen key.
Nice unit, in great condition
Looks just like the ad
Very nice
