We are very happy with this purchase. I added 4 L brackets to secure the bed to the wall and now the bed doesnt move at all. Very nice! Relatively easy to put together.
I read every review and customer q&a. I scoured the internet for similar beds and this was the best price for the full size loft. Now that it’s assembled we love it. Please read on to find out why assembling was such a pain.
Many people reviewed that they assembled this alone. I can’t see how that’s possible. One person can do the first half and probably the end steps which is attaching the guard rail and ladder. But half way through 2 people are definitely needed when the side rails are put in. One has to hold the headboard while another has to slip the wood dowels on rails into the slots then screw in place. We had 3 people for this step so they could hold the footboard which made the person screwing in the rails have an easier time.
The directions are written in such small font that it made us feel very old trying to decipher them clearly. A magnifying glass would have been magical! The hardware kit that’s included is clearly labeled by numbering all the different screws etc.
then each step tells you exactly what number parts to use. All the wood pieces are labeled with letters. We accidentally put the front rail (that has holes for attaching guard rail) on the back side of frame and vice versa. What a pain to have to switch those. We had to take apart both sides to fix that. So be careful because those pieces look exactly alike with exception of the holes.
The box is packaged very well. It took a half hour just to unwrapping all the pieces. Then we laid everything out on the floor and went to work. 4 hours later we had a bed. That includes the time we had to fix our mistake. One of the posts was damaged where there was a hole dented in the box during shipping. After a little sanding and touch up paint it won’t be as noticeable.
This bed is not a bright white. It’s an off-white. Definitely a cream colored base which I believe is called antique white.
PLEASE MEASURE YOUR CEILING! Before ordering be sure you realize this bed stand 6 feet tall. If you have vaulted ceilings your fine. We knew going into this that we were going to cut off some inches from the 4 posts as our ceiling is only 8 foot.
See my pics. After cutting 4 inches off my 8 year old can still touch her ceiling and ceiling fan. Her mattress is 10 inches thick.
We are ok with the height but decided to remove her fan and just have a light fixture there for safety.
Cutting the legs off was perfect for us as the beds sold that are shorter are TOO short. We can now still fit her desk underneath. Remember to also cut the bottom legs of the ladder too. We also took 4 inches off keeping the same 45• angle so it sits flush on the floor.
I have to stand on a step stool to change the sheets.
Bed wobbles slightly when we really shake it. I am going to take advice of another reviewer and use 4 L brackets to attach the posts to the wall. Just for added durability.
TIP FOR ASSEMBLY: do not tighten all the screws SUPER SUPER tight with the Allen wrench. Just a nice tight is good because if you really crank on them they can pull out the hold and are useless.
Perfect for daughters room. Durable. Easy to assemble. Sliiiightly unstable as far a little wobbly, but we opted to wall for safety and, unless you toss and turn like crazy, it’s fine. After all, this isn’t a massively heavy wooden bed. The Only issue is that it doesn’t come with washers, and without them you’ll have damage to the bed (we tried without at first).
We recently bought one for our middle-school aged daughter, who needed more space in her bedroom, exchanging a Queen mattress and frame for this full-sized loft bed. It arrived in one large box, very well packaged. Everything was intact. The instructions were easy to understand, and it took us well under 2 hours to put it together and set it up. That said, it helps having three people at times, rather than two. Once up, it's attractive and seems quite stable. As soon as we got this assembled, with mattress, were were impressed enough to buy a second one for our youngest daughter.
I would like to see the main posts and cross beams be a little more robust. We trimmed the height to just about 46" due to the height of out ceilings. We are still finishing off the space below the bed. My daughter now has a great place to study, put her musical instruments and store some clothing. We purchased a floor couch where she does her homework. She even decorated the area with fairy lights making it a true oasis to focus on her work and hang out with friends.
Great loft bed. It was pretty easy to put together and very good quality. My daughter loves it.
After a few weeks of use I can't recommended this bed. The bolts constantly come loose and it is disturbingly wobbly.
One board came with holes reversed but the manufacturer sent a replacement quickly.
Overall the quality of this bed is quite poor.
I am 30 years all and I like to sleep in the upside and I like more the space at the bottom :-)
