I love it, my 13 month old loves it, but it has a bit safety problem: it’s so easy for her to fall backwards when she bends down!! She actually fell the second time we used in it!!!
She dropped some snacks and bent to pick them up, and fell on hardwood floors, hitting her back and head. We added the fabric from a ribbon and raise it/lower it when she enters and stands in the stool.
I can’t believe this type of feature (closing that gap) doesn’t come by default.
We feel we mitigated this issue and otherwise, we are happy with the stool. My toddler is so excited to use it! It’s perfect when “helping” with door prepping and watch us in the kitchen!
I would say it is pretty sturdy, although I wonder if the “cage” is tall enough. My 100 percentile for height at 13 months old baby seems to fit just right. I don’t know whT will happen in 6m or 1y... in our case, one of the stools’ legs is a tiny bit shorter than the other, so it is not 100% balanced, but my kid doesn’t seem to try to exploit that and wiggle left and right, so I’ll let it be for now.
Edit (5 months later). I’m increasing the rating from 3 to 4 stars, as the chair has proven itself useful and reliable. It still bothers me it’s not completely level... We recently removed the extra ribbon we added to allow for easier access in and out - kiddo is big enough and much more careful about what she does when she’s up in the chair.
We bought 2 of these stools for our 2 year old twin girls. They love using them in the kitchen to help us cook and snack. They were easy to set up, and the girls are kept quite safe with the non stick pads that come with it. It did take them a little while to learn how to climb in and out of them but they are very good at it now. I have already recommended this product to other moms!
My 2 year old loves it. She a little scared trying to figure out how to get back down but that’s normal. We are loving the Montessori method and this works well to get her in the kitchen to help. It is a little slippery so if your kid is just learning how to walk make sure there barefoot or have traction on there socks. We put felt pad on the bottom so it easy to slide around the kitchen. This one is great and it blows my mind how expensive those other ones are. Definitely go with this one!
This children’s stool is a great solution for toddlers in the kitchen. It’s thick enough to be sturdy, but thin enough to be lightweight. Got it in white. Paint is a nice finish, doesn’t seem like it will peel or chip. It’s has smooth edges all round. Nice height, matches up to our counters perfectly.
A few slight issues with this stool we have noticed.
The stool is a bit wobbly. It’s slightly off balance. Usually this isn’t a big issue, however, with my child in this, it’s slightly concerning. A quick fix we did was add the extra washer it comes with to the bottom, then added the 3m tape and it seemed to fix the problem.
Another slight concern is the safety rail. I understand it’s higher up to let the child in, and while the child is standing it is at the child’s waist height. I find that maybe an extra strap is needed so that way a smaller child doesn’t fall backwards into the open space.
Assembly was easy enough. Some picture steps were a little confusing. No crazy tools required. If you have a drill, assembly will be a lot quicker then if you used the tool they provide.
Still recommend, overall great find.
Absolutely in love with this product. My son is 16 months old but loves to watch me cook or just play with the drawers and as soon as we put this thing together, he climbed right in and learned how to do it all by himself in and out. It comes with these anti slip stickers for the steps and we are loving the quality. Best money spent. His face of excitement says it all. Worth the buy and easy to put together.
Total game changer for toddlers! My son loves the stool! It took him a minute to figure out how to crawl underneath the bar, once he did he was so excited. We have two, one for the bathroom and one for the kitchen. He now washes his own hands after meals and brushes his own teeth and loves playing in the sink. He can even reach the bathroom light switch now!
He’s 19 months old about 33 inches tall and 26.5 pounds. It’s the perfect countertop height. I considered spending more money to buy a tower that could adjust the base height for when he gets taller but at that point he wouldn’t need such a intense stepstool and so we could downgrade to a basic one. It’s a great price and very solid and sturdy we love it, if you’re considering buying it do it it’s a 100% yes!
This is great. Easy for my granddaughter to get in and out of. She just turned two. So much safer than a step stool or chair. I put non-skid, glow in dark strips on the steps for extra safety. Bought two, one for grandma’s and one for granddaughter’s home. Easy to put together, sturdy yet easy for an adult to move. Grandma recommends this!
Great for my little girl. She’s only 14 mo, but can get in and out of this stool pretty good. She loves being able to reach the counter and needed safe climbing opportunities so she would stop climbing on other things. This stool is very sturdy and a perfect height for our counters.
My only gripe is that we got the dark color and it’s not very dark. Looks like cheap brown plastic actually. At first I appreciated the heavy coat of lacquer because I knew she wouldn’t get any splinters (like another product we purchased recently), but sitting in our kitchen.... it doesn’t look particularly good. Wish we had gone for the natural wood look instead.
Other than the LOOK of the product, it works great for our needs and is considerably cheaper than other similar products.
