I'm not a huge cook but everyone needs a set of knives in the kitchen. I looked around at Kohls, Target and the mall and couldn't justify myself spending $70-$100 on a knife set that I won't use that often. So of course, like always, I took to Amazon to find these knives. I was surprised at the cost and figured why not. I knew they weren't going to be the top of the line but after using them since I've gotten them I'm happy how they are holding up. They aren't dull by any means and everything that I have needed them for they do the job. I also love the look. The dark brass/black look on brown handle is awesome for me. Definitely get these if you're on a budget.
Certainly one of the best values for a knife set. For the price you get some great knives that will hold up to with day to day use. For the price they do come sharp. However I prefer very sharp knives. Using the paper cut test these were prone to snags and not a butter smooth cut like an very sharp knife will do. That being said, most new knives will likely need to be sharpened to your liking. These knives are a great value, not likely to disappoint. Also worth noting these are very nice looking knives.
I am not a chef so my needs for knives are simply that they cut well, look nice and hold up. These knives have exceeded my expectations with regard to the two requirements. They are sharp! They cut better than anything I’ve used prior. They are pretty. The “brown” handle appears more coppery to me (which matches my kitchen and was a pleasant surprise). Will they hold up? Seems like they will. I feel like I’ve gotten my money’s worth.
Girlfriend loves the look of these. So far we've only cut a few things to test the sharpness and so far they're fairly sharp. Not like high quality sharp but still for the price they're really nice.
Will update durability in a few weeks.
This set of knives with protective covers are exactly as pictured and worth every penny. Due to the lightweight feel out of the box, I was unsure if we would be satisfied with the real test of sharpness. First cut, we were impressed. Second cut, we were even more impressed. And, when we cut a massive beef roast in half with two passes of the knife, we were beyond impressed. If you are looking for a heavy knife, these are not for you. If you are looking for a lightweight, inexpensive, good quality replacement for your kitchen knives, I would recommend these.
This is the first time I am using these types of knives which are made up of other than stainless steel. I am always used to stainless steel. It is very sharp but it doesn’t give me the confident like stainless still. It cuts the bread very good. When I cut the onion, it sticks with the knife. It is a little bit hard to use it.
Been using these knives for the past week and impressed with the quality for the price. I got my previous set for double the price and could see a visual quality difference as well. These sets look better made and have a thicker blade. Cutting is sharp and smooth. Wish they came with a knife sharpening tool.
Hopefully, they last me for years to come.
First impression: I was expecting more! Not being wood handles was my disappointment. But when I started to check the knifes, I started to see the good points on it. Each one came with a cover, they are very light weight and sharp. My wife and I love to cook and we prepare all of our meals daily and after a couple days of usage, my wife loved this knife set. She believed that not having wood handles it is a plus, they won't fade due to dishwasher use every day, sometimes twice a day. There is no way to have a better knife set in this price range.
