I have owned this trash can now for a year. After going to a friend's house and using their sensor trash can, I felt a review of this trash can would be appropriate.

This is the first sensor can I've owned, and I have been pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy having it. I like the fact that the ring holds the trash can bag in place, and hides the trash can bag from being seen.

I love the AC adapter, I would not have purchased the can without it. It is very convenient and cost effective to not have to purchase batteries on a regular basis.

It has worked flawlessly, we have never had a problem with inconsistency. It opens we want it to, it doesn't open when we don't want it to and it is a great addition to my remodeled kitchen.

This product worked great for about 6 months. Then, I noticed the port where you plug in the power cord had caved in and would no longer take a charge from an outlet. I decided to get batteries for it since I was past the return timeframe and still wanted to get use out of the product. Then I noticed the plastic piece that clips on to hold in batteries was missing. I couldn’t remember if it was always missing since I originally purchased this to plug into the wall. So now I have a ruler and duct tape securing the batteries in place until I can replace it. Would have liked for it to last longer for the price I paid.

I love this trash can. It works very nice. However, I'm having a problem removing the cover for the battery compartment. Otherwise, I'm loving it! Provides enough time to take my hand away, and it has a nice wide opening. It also came packed very securely. I use the generic 13 gallon trash can liners and it's just fine. I also placed some laundry boost scent beads at the bottom of the can and its been smelling great for weeks. Hope this info helps.

 I have had this trash can under a year. I would need to look at exactly when I purchased it, but why bother. I would expect for this can to stop working for years. One Night while sleeping, I kept hearing the lid opening and closing. I didn't know if a rat had found its way into the house or if it was a ghost. That was last month. Eventually, that behavior stopped. Two days ago, it started again, and now the lid will not close (see video). I've unplugged it, cleaned the sensor, and anything else I can think of.

This was a waste of money. I wish this was like Sears so that I could return this piece of junk.

I am surprised at all of the positive reviews. This product, compared to the one I bought two years ago, is flimsy and poorly designed. The trash bag top hangs over the outside, visible in my kitchen, whereas the one I am replacing has an internal and an external can allowing for everything to be concealed. I will gladly pay $30 more to get a well-engineered product. This one goes to the garage.

Well I like this thing but be warned it is quite sensitive. Make sure you have a place to put it where you are less likely to open it when you didn't mean to. We had it where our old foot operated can sat and found out just walking by this can too closely will open it. We had to relocate it to stop the walk by openings. If I had kept the box I would definitely consider returning it. We are now just considering turning the sensor off and using it manually. I didn't want to rate it poorly because it works good, maybe too good.

this is the perfect trash can. the wide long opening lets you dump any oddball stuff, like the vacuum cleaner bin, and hands full of cans, with a no touch it. great! is shorter than a few of the others and wider, just what I needed for my space. its easy to change the bag and the rim holder works very well. I use a 30 gal trash bag in mine and it lasts for a whole week. it has a deodorizer, which I cant tell does anything, but I'm so glad I got the electric one instead of the battery operated one, i'd be buying batteries all the time as it does open when someone stands there doing other things very happy with this

This is right up my alley.
I'm lazy. This classy looking can does all the work. Don't forget to remove the clear sticker from the sensor light. It opens faster when you do this.
The kitchen bags are hidden under the removeable black rim.
Everything is neat and tidy.
Love the charcoal filter. Love that it runs off of batteries or the plug in adapter.
My husband thinks that it is his new toy.
I definitely recommend!
