I received the three large boxes last Friday - be warned the heaviest is in excess of 110 pounds. Assembly was straightforward, the directions were brief but clear. It took me 1/2 hour to unpack and inventory all the parts, and another two hours to assemble without any assistance.

It is an attractive piece, substantial and solid. Overall I have only one complaint, and that's why it's only two stars at the moment.

The top is about 1.5" thick and unfortunately I got one that is not flat. There is a significant amount of warpage front to back, making it almost dome shaped. This warping causes the top to interfere with the movement of the drop leaf supports as they are pulled out/pushed in. Exacerbating the issue is the fact that the drop leaf piece is approx 2mm thicker than the main top. Both of these issues cause a significant misalignment of the top when the drop leaf is extended, and it is not in my opinion, even close to acceptable.

The shipping boxes have big stickers on them with an email address and phone number to contact if there are issues with parts. I tried calling this morning and the phone number is strictly voicemail, so don't waste your time unless you wish to leave a message. I did reach out to them via email on their website, though, and after submitting the complaint (including photos) there was a screen prompt that indicated they will reply within 48 hours.

I will allow Home Styles the opportunity to correct this issue, and I will update this review as the case progresses. If they can get me a truly flat top with a drop leaf that aligns properly, it's a 5 star piece (oh, it's also much less expensive here at Amazon as compared to Wayfair and Home Depot!)

***Update 4/3/19***
Just a quick update - I contacted customer service through the form on there website. That same day they shipped out a new top and drop leaf which was delivered two days later. Unfortunately it was just as warped as the original table top. So...I tried one more time as returning the assembled piece would have been a major headache.

Once again, that same day a replacement was sent out which was also delivered in two days. What do you think happened? I opened the carton and took a straight-edge to it, and it was perfectly flat! Swapping it out for the original took just 15-20 minutes, and all was right in the kitchen! The top and drop leaf aligned perfectly!

I'm now 100% satisfied with this product, thanks in no small part to customer service.

Perfect find what we were looking for ! Wifey assembled it under 3 hours. High quality wood and very steady. When i read the reviews, manufacture did not recomended to replace top with other tops but we used our 36×51 granite top from old one and it is perfectly fine. I definitely give this pruduct five stars. Even though it said 5 business days when ordered from prime, it arrived in 2 business days !!

This island is stunning! My husband and I ordered it for our kitchen and we were pleasantly surprised with how solid it is. I have read other reviews about people designing their kitchen around these islands, and I thought that sounded silly for something you put together yourself, but I have to say this piece is very solid and it looks VERY high-end. The entire top is solid wood and the slider legs which pull out so you can extend the snack bar portion are easy to use and when they are pushed in, you can't even tell they're there. The only issue we ran into is once assembled the front doors kept popping open, eventually we realized the screws on the hinges which were pre-attached to the unit were just a little too tight so we loosened them just a tiny bit and that fixed the issue. Overall I would say if you're even thinking about this one go for it. It came in three big boxes, so my husband had to have a friend help get them in the house, but it only took about an hour and fifteen minutes to get together.

Very pleased with this kitchen island. Well made, solid, easy to assemble, and attractive. It's a little higher priced than some other kitchen islands, but you get what you pay for.
3/8/2020 Update: We had someone come in to give us an estimate for new kitchen cabinets and countertops. He thought the Island was built in and assumed we would want to keep it. He didn't think it needed to be replaced.

It's large, sturdy, and very heavy. It is the most difficult and time consuming piece of furniture I have ever assembled, however, I was able to accomplish it all by myself. However, despite all of my best efforts and with great care in assembly, the doors and drawers don't quite line up properly so there is some unevenness around the edges of them. I don't know if it's even possible to assemble it to avoid such unevenness. Also, the 'antiquing' via little dots of brown all over looks cheesy and I would have much preferred just a solid white color, but it is not offered in anything except this cheap looking fake antique finish. It's very functional and sturdy though. The storage is a little hard to get to because it's so low and deep. The drawers work well.

Finished putting this piece together today and it looks really good. Very high quality. The white is just off-white enough to look antiquey but not yellow. So why am I only giving it 3 stars? One reason: I had to spend an hour going to Lowes for new cams last night because the cams supplied are unusable. I simply cannot believe after so many reviews mentioning this same problem that they still have not upgraded the cams. It's not that they are just low quality, they are not the right size for the holes that the cams fit in, so it really is impossible to complete the job without new thicker cams. So add about $15 bucks to your purchase because you will be buying new cams.

The rest of the pieces are fine. We only had one metal piece that needed to be unbent and there were no split or heavily damaged pieces which is saying something (we have bought a lot of furniture online). The finished piece is beautiful and extremely spacious. So, Home Styles, if you guys tell me you've upgraded the cams I will change my review to 5 stars because it really isn't right to not give customers the appropriate materials to put this thing together. Otherwise well done and I would buy from this company again.
