Bought this item as an exact replacement for the a faucet I bought three years ago. The original failed because of improper installation. As delivered, there was water in the faucet, even though it clearly had not been used or returned. Kohler says this is because of leak testing at the factory. Completed the installation in half an hour, with only a #2 Phillips screwdriver and a 5/8" open end wrench. Absolutely no leaks after installation.

This faucet has a retractable hose that hangs down under the sink. This hose failed after just three years. When I examined the failed hose, I thought it had failed due to poor design. Turns out it failed because the original installation was incorrect. I replaced the entire faucet because I could not determine that the replacement hoses I found on Amazon and elsewhere were correct for this faucet. Plus, I was hoping that Kohler had improved the design of this hose in the interim and that the hose delivered with a new unit would last longer. When I read the installation instructions for the new faucet, I found that the hose weight had been installed improperly on the original faucet and that is what had caused the early failure.

The retractable hose hangs down in a loop below the sink and a doughnut-shaped weight is slid over the hose to assist in the retraction process. On my original installation, the weight was left loose, so it simply slid down to the bottom of the loop. I figured this was intended. Over time, the hose developed a sharp bend at each end of the weight. When I pulled out the faucet head, this caused the bends to straighten and the hose eventually cracked on the inside of one of the bends. The proper installation uses a cable tie to hold the weight above the loop. This produces a straight downward pull on the hose and does not produce any sharp bends in the hose. This installation is clearly shown in the instructions, but I guess my plumber did not have a cable tie. Kohler does not provide one.

In any case, if you install this faucet yourself, make sure you follow the instructions for placement of the weight. If you have it professionally installed, make sure your plumber followed the instructions. If the weight is left free to slide down to the bottom of the loop, the hose will fail after just a few years of service.

We've had nothing but problems with this faucet. Specifically, we've replaced the spray head three times because of leaking and the hose twice because of leaking. Kohler has sent replacement parts for free under the lifetime warranty but it takes a couple of weeks for the parts to come. Regardless, having to submit five warranty claims in less than three years makes me regret buying this faucet. I pointed this out to Kohler on my last claim asking if they would refund my money. They chose not to respond to that part of my email. I will never buy a Kohler faucet again. I suggest you don't either.
I am a builder. I have installed 15 of these. They don’t give a huge amount of water, so they save, it’s a bit annoying to fill a pot but so what most times u just need a little water.
The location of the handle. Please mount the handle facing in the front. This way left 10 o’clock is hot and right 2 o’clock is cold.
Straight up 12 o’clock will be warm. This will not confuse. HOWEVER, if you do this u have to change the cold and hot around on the supply rods. Mount the hot supply rod to the cold angle value
Also I use 100 percent silicone I round mound around the hole. Let it dry overnight this way water will never seep under the base.

I have tried rebuilding kholer kitchen in the past please don’t waste your time. Every 10 yrs just throw the kitchen farcet away.

Received the unit and had a very experienced plumber install. The unit leaked from the inside and was spraying water when used underneath the sink. We immediately called Kohler and had the plumber speak with them. They would not replace the unit, and would only send what they suspect was a faulty or missing "O" Ring for the plumber to install. Are you kidding me, we're paying a plumber to fix the defective new unit?. The plumber said it's only Kohler units that he's occasionally run into this. So $200+ plumbers bill and have to return the unit to Amazon. Never again!!!
Received package with factory seal opened. Noticed corrosion at fittings and proceeded to remove from box... lo and behold, water dripping from the hoses and sprayer- just like other reviews from Amazon. Be warned, Amazon apparently ships products that have been returned. One user said when they received their replacement for the used product, Amazon shipped another with the same problem with not one, but two more factory seals overlapping, meaning they sent another that had been returned *twice*. Be warned. Don't count this faucet out, it's a beauty in style and quality... just don't buy it from here.
Love this faucet. Had a Kohler for 15 years, then allowed my plumber to talk me into replacing with a Delta. Bad decision. Back to Kohler.

It does not install as easily as seen in the video, but then, I expect most of us have to lie on our backs to position and secure the faucet. Otherwise, installation was a snap. The new design eliminates the need for a faucet wrench, and the water line connections were easy-peasy with no leaks.

I mounted the faucet with the lever on the side as suggested, but my wife suggested it might be better if it faced out to the sink. Back on my back. It was easy to change the position. With that secure I swapped the supply hoses so it was left for hot and right for cold, and my wife was right - I do like it better in that position.

The faucet looks great and performs as I expect from Kohler. Temperature control is very precise and incremental (a major improvement over the Delta, where I spent half the time burning my hands every time I turned it on).

It's only been in service for a month, so I can't speak to any leaks or failures, but I am confident that Kohler customer service will back me up if there are any problems. Highly recommended!

Have had this installed now for about two months. The tap drips intermittently (3-5 times) when the water is shut off which is annoying.
More frustrating is the handle is now leaking. Sometimes a slow drip, sometimes a fast drip - depending on the angle of the handle. I have contacted customer support and am awaiting a response. Installation was completed by kitchen professionals so I doubt it is an installation issue, especially since it was fine for two months. I suspect it is a faulty mixing valve, which shouldn't happen in a $300+ faucet.

Update: They sent me a replacement valve, which fixed the situation for a little while, but now the problem has reoccurred.
Waiting on a response from Kohler for my second claim for the same issue in less than six months.
Bought this faucet a couple of months ago with the Kohler K 3820 sink. Both are excellent products. This is an easy install for a do it your selfer. A little different install than other less expensive faucets we have bought in the past, just be sure fo follow all directions. Comes with everything needed to install. Looks very sleek with my sink in my new kitchen. ******Follow up 2017...have had this faucet for 4 yrs now...still looks good though the spray head is very poorly designed...the button to interrupt the flow and the larger one that toggles on/off to spray eventually fail after constant daily use, do not shut off completely leading to drippy faucet while running water. Thankfully being more on the pricey side it has a life time guarantee. I have called customer service several times in the past 4 yrs and have had a replacement spray head shipped for free...pain in the butt. When this one finally goes for good, would not buy same type again with spray head buttons. Would have expected a better designed product from a name like Kohler, disappointing.
Looks great, works great and great price! Not only does it work well, I can't stop looking at it. I think I'm starting to make my wife jealous with all the attention I give the faucet. This faucet has a pause button on the faucet head which many other faucets don't have. I'm not sure how often we'll actually use this feature, but it's cool. The faucet head also snaps back into place nicely and stays in place. No need for a magnet which the Delta's use. The only con I can think of, and this is trivial, is that the plastic collar that helps guide the faucet head back into place could be a little wider. This would help it to slide back into place more quietly.
Nice faucet. Faucet functions are great. After 5 months of use the faucet started to leak at the handle. I phoned Kohler and they said they would shipped a new cartridge to me. While I was waiting for the cartridge to arrive I decided to take the faucet apart to remove the cartridge and noticed the cartridge nut was a little loose so I tightened the nut. No more leak. Even though I had this issue with the faucet I would still buy it again.
