While this thing looks like a quality-made piece of furniture, it will deteriorate right in front of your eyes in the span of weeks. The "faux wood" slats, also comically referred to by the manufacturer as "weather-resistant simulated wood" panels are fastened with what looks to be "faux screws" that is absolutely "faux good quality" and will break off one by one and curl upwards into the person that sits on them and one by one will break off, until you are left with only a metal frame with no panels that you cannot sit on. What good is having something that won't "fade, rot, crack, chip, or peel" as they claim, when it also won't stay on the frame to allow you to sit on it because the tack screws or the holes they screw into easily breaks? Unfortunately, I bought two of these sets and loved them for the first few months. Now only one set is useable, but two of the slats have broken off as you can see in the pictures, so you've got to be careful where you sit. Too bad they did not find a better way to fasten the slats onto the frame, because this thing was awesome and very much a conversation piece when I bought two of these benches. Five months later, I have one dead and buried and one left, with two broken slats and more to come. Very disappointing.
Searched high and low for suitable all weather benches for my outdoor fire pit. Plastic wood is expensive in this kind of outdoor furniture so having found these at a very reasonable price I gave them a try (Purchased 2).
Comes in the expected flat pack - the two surfaces pre-assembled. A little fiddly to assemble and only one instruction book between the two boxes (Intentional?) but the online assembly instruction was easy to find.
The bench feels solid and quality. The adjustment mechanism for the tilt is well designed and well made. I expect it to be robust based on first impressions. Positions are very positive and stable.
Have them out in the garden with my only complaint so far is Robin's love to perch on them, very well fed robins.....
Only been outside for a month so I will update this review after a season to report how they stand up to a North NJ summer and winter.
Ironically the only deterioration is on the "Lifetime" label - see the pictures!
So far I would definitely recommend them. Well made, well designed and very happy with the finished look.
I received a gift card for my birthday and I wanted a place to sit while the dogs ran around the yard. The features of this bench that include conversion to a table and the faux wood slats made it a wonderful gift. I really like the modern, streamlined design. Very linear and smooth.
I put it together by myself with some careful and creative ways to hold this while I watched that. The hardware on 'blister' card's made the assembly quite easy, and the instructions were very well written. Whoever put this item together for market did a super job. I was happy to see 'Made in Vietnam', instead of China.
