I felt this book was intended for a younger audience than a baby boomer like me. I really didn't care for the style of writing, but I did read on to the predictable end. A fairly good read.

Loved the setting, Ms. Linfoot's style of writing and the recipes!! I hope there will be a sequel! Mostly because I didn't want it to end.
Another winner from Jane Linfoot! Perfect for a respite from a steamy Georgia summer day, the view from the balcony of Clemmie’s tiny top floor flat overlooking the sea is almost as good as a trip to the beach. If you’ve enjoyed her other books about the Cornish coast, you’ll love this one, too. If you haven’t yet read them, for goodness sake get them now and treat yourself to something wonderful. You will thank her over and over for writing them. Five shiny stars from me.
You can smell the sea air, feel the sand under your toes, and smell chocolate and lemon tarts. I live in land-locked Missouri, USA and Jane Linfoot's books help me feel I'm back on the beach, with dessert baking in the oven (and a timer in my pocket). When (not if!) I win the lottery, I'll find a wonderful ocean view cottage with an amazing kitchen and bake my heart out. Thanks Jane (I can call you Jane, can't I?) for reminding me how much I love to bake, how much love the ocean, and of course, how much I love a good romance. I'll take my real-life Charlie with me, of course.
Another novel about girls whose lives peaked in high school. They show no sign of maturity now, and they are not people I want to spend time with. The sea-view apartment has its charms, but not the inhabitants. I wish I could throw this idiotic book across the room, but it's on my Kindle.
Engaging and creative characters, and I really enjoyed this wonderful story. It was fun and quick reading. Please try it.
Even though I tried I just could not get through another page. I got to page 130 and said enough I had tried to keep reading but it just went on and on and no story. I'm sorry I wasted my time and money
Don't waste yours
I enjoyed this sweet book and the cute young characters. The story line combined some grief with hope, love, lust and growing up. The baking and recipes are just a cherry on top.
I very rarely take notice of covers of books let alone comment on them in my reviews but I have to say as soon as I saw the cover of this book I just had to read it. I don’t think I even read the blurb until I was drafting this review! The cover is just gorgeous and drew me in, I can definitely say the inside is just as gorgeous as the outside!

The Little Cornish Kitchen is a heart-warming, enjoyable read that is just perfect for the holidays. Clemmie lives in Paris but she returns to Cornwall and the village of St Aidan where she goes to her grandmothers apartment. Oh the apartment is just stunning, I’d happily live there myself! After some persuasion from her friends Clemmie turns the apartment into The Little Cornish Kitchen to raise money for building repair work.

I absolutely loved Clemmie, within the first few pages I found she was a wonderful character and I adored getting to know her. The food sounds amazing, I got so hungry whilst reading this book! Be warned, you will be reaching for some snacks once you’ve read about the wonderful food on offer!

The setting of this book was just perfect, St Aidan sounds like a fabulous place and it’d be the kind of place I’d love to live, just gorgeous! Jane has written a brilliant book that had me dreaming of being by the sea with a glass of wine. I loved getting to know all the characters and the relationships between them. I have to say a special mention to Pancake and Diesel, I loved them! And Charlie, well, I loved getting to know him with Clemmie.

The Little Cornish Kitchen is an endearing, charming, funny romantic read that will have you drooling in delight at the yummy food. It felt like a big hug in a book and it was just the perfect escape for me. I flew through the pages as Jane’s writing just drew me in. I’m sorry to admit this is my first book I’ve read by Jane, I have no idea why as this was just perfect! I will definitely be reading the rest now! Such a wonderful read.
The first time we meet Clemmie Hamilton she is handing out blue macaroons, dressed as a mermaid at her friend's publicity event. It is here that she meets the dashing Charlie Hobson, a property developer who is buying all the quaint cottages in the Cornish town of St Aidan and turning them into swanky apartments.

Clemmie is happy working as a PA in France, she doesn't stay anywhere long and likes to live out of a rucksack. She is forced to return to her hometown because she has inherited a property there and is adamant that the stay in St Aidan will be a short one.

When she visits her grandmother's former apartment, memories of her childhood start trickling through, no matter how hard she tries to fight them. Her friends are desperate for her to stay, but Clemmie is determined that she will return to Paris.

At first, I was a little perturbed at Clemmie, she seemed rather ungrateful and harsh considering she had wonderful lifelong friends, a job offer and a flat with sea views to die for. However, it wasn't long until I realised that Clemmie was running away from something.

When The Little Cornish Kitchen is born we see a much warmer side to Clemmie especially when she is around arch-rival Charlie (who just happens to live next door). The recipes from Clemmie's grandmother's treasure chest make you yearn for the fresh baked taste of sorbets, meringues and a host of other sweet treats.

Jane Linfoot describes the apartment to perfection. I could just see myself standing on the rickety balcony with sea spray hitting my face and the wind taking my breath away. I love all things bohemian and  Jane describes the interior as a cosy, multicoloured, cushion filled haven, the sort that dreams are made of!

Make sure this book is in your beach bag everyone, it's a perfect holiday read!

I previously read and reviewed Jane Linfoot's previous novel called Christmas Promises at the Little Wedding Shop and you can catch up with that review here
Do you want to visit Cornwall for the summer and drool over the most delicious sounding hunk desserts? Well, look no further because you can do all that between the pages of this lovely book.

Jane Linfoot's books really appeal to me, so much so that I have had a couple of them on my reading pile for a while now. But I was utterly seduced by the idea of The Little Cornish Kitchen. The popularity of Cornwall as a setting never seems to wane, and nor should it as it's a stunning area, often by the sea - perfect! And the kitchen bit spoke to me too as I love books about baking.

Clemmie is a free spirit. She's travelled far and wide but comes back to the little village of St Aidan in Cornwall to finally receive the legacy her grandmother, Laura, left to her years earlier: a gorgeous little flat in Seaspray Cottage with a balcony overlooking the sea. Already I'm almost weak at the thought of the beauty of the views. Add in her neighbour in the flat next door, Charlie Hobson, who happens to share the balcony, and life's getting a little more complicated for Clemmie and very interesting for me as a reader.

To make some money her friends come up with the idea to set up a pop-up kitchen in the flat and host singles nights and the like. Clemmie, who's not much of a baker, finds herself raiding Laura's recipes for delicious desserts such as lemon meringues, chocolate roulade and sorbets and she takes to it like a sugar addict to buttercream. The descriptions of the food in this book are absolutely mouth-watering and if you're so inclined there are recipes at the back so you can make some of your very own.

At times I wanted to shake Clemmie and tell her to open her eyes and see what's right in front of her. But any good romance has to have a bit of conflict before it all comes right. And it wasn't only romance where Clemmie buried her head in the sand as her family life was also a bit problematical as well. But she has a lovely group of friends to help her through it all and the friendships were one of the strongest things about this book, I thought.

I loved the pop-up kitchen - what a great idea! I do like to read books about people setting up businesses and succeeding and even more so when food is involved. I also adored Charlie. He's the strong and silent type but seems like he has the weight of the world on his shoulders sometimes. The bond that starts to develop between him and Clemmie is so lovely, so heart-warming, that it really made me smile.

In fact, this whole book is like that. It's a real pleasure from start to finish, it will make you hungry, it will make you happy and it will make you swoon a little bit. I thought it was fabulous.
I love reading books about Cornwall; the beautiful setting and its quaint, charming appeal. I also enjoy visiting and will be going later this month. So when I had the opportunity to read and review this book, I jumped at the chance! This heart-warming book is just perfect for this time of year.

Clemmie visits St Aidan and is looking forward to returning to her exciting life in Paris-despite her friends wanting her to stay. The longer she stays in the town, the more childhood memories are unearthed. Will that be enough to convince her to make St Aidan her home again? I love Paris and I love Cornwall so it was interesting for me to read about a character who would rather return to her life in Paris than stay where she grew up. The town of St Aidan is described beautifully and I could really relate to Clemmie's group of friends. I could imagine sitting down with a cuppa for a natter.

The description of the recipes were so well thought out. I spent time thinking about sorbets, meringues and brownies, as I could really imagine how they looked and tasted!

This story is beautifully written and a pleasure to read. Hours passed quite easily before I knew it. This is the first book I've read of Jane Linfoot's, however it won't be the last. My only complaint? I may have to buy some cake now...
Enjoyed this - it is different to what I normally read. Only thing is I do not like some of the language used for the characters & that is why it has 4 stars & not 5.

Lighthearted & amusing tale of a group of friends.

I may not be used to young peoples language but story has several twists & turns so you hav to read on to find out what happened.
