Read reviews that mention:
* Pro: Looks nice in pictures, and is actually 32" high, so it does fit through a narrow door.
* Con: I never thought I would write a one-star review, but I have to warn people.
(a) If you ask for a 'standard delivery,' the carrier will only assign one person to deliver it. If you are in a rush to have something to sleep on like me and stupidly dont take the 'scheduled delivery' option, the driver will not even carry it up any steps, and will just dump it in your driveway. But I had just moved in and had wrist tenddonitis from side sleeping on an airbed, so I stupidly opted for 'standard delivery.' When I caught the driver about to drive away having dumped it on the curb, he showed me the delivery instructions. "It clearly says it only needs one person' he said. So I had to show him the page saying it would be delivered to front porch and told him I would refuse delivery and report him if he didn't carry it to my front door. What a terrible mistake. First he complained about how dirty the torn plastic wrapping was. He touched it, and his finger was black. "Take the plastic off and wash it before you take it inside," he said. Then when he shoved the bottom plate of his handtruck under the back of one end to heave it verticle, I discovered after unwrapping it he snapped the 1/2" x 3/4" piece of wood on the long edge of the back bottom that is the only thing holding the fabric in place. That piece doesn't even have any reinforcement, vertical or horizontal. It is so flimsy, a cat could break it. So I had thought the faux leather on the back meant I couild position it away from a wall. False. Do not get this at all unless the back it is to be against a wall. The only reason there is faux leather fabric on the back is to fool you into thinking it could be in the middle of a room. It can't. There is no way it will survive being away from a wall. There is absolutely no point in having the faux leather fabric on the back at all except to make it look good in photos.
* Moever, the faux leather fabric is not only warm as others state. It is sweaty. After the delivery man thumped it in front of my door and drover off as fast he could, I unwrapped it and bagged the filthy platic, went inside. threw the inevirtably dirty trousers and shirt in the dishwasher and dressed again,, and rolled it in on a vacuum cleaner extension tiube. I marveled for a moment at how light such a long sofa was before noticing the broken back.
(b) I didnt even get to being annoyed at there being no drill holes for the plastic feet. I thought "well, at least I can sleep without wrist pain" and climbed onto in in relief. The cushions shot out. I pushed them in again, taking care to make sure the black velcro on the back and two side corners was facing downwards. So far they have not slid out again, but there isn't any velcro on the sofa itself, only on the cushions, and the velcro is sewn in without anything underneath it, not removable, so you can't reverse the cushions or change their order.
(c) Within two minutes I had to get up and wash the bottom and back cushions. They are NOT ONLY HOT, THET ARE SWEATY. So much for pretty faux leather fabric. Now it's covered with a queen-sized bedspread. I thought maybe I was just sweaty from rolling it through the door and tipping it sideways. Not so. I am writing this the middle of the second night. The faux leather fabric is also slippery, and the bedspread won't stay in place. My hair is sweaty. My back is sweaty. The sofa is wet with sweat. My wrist is not so so sore, but now my neck is sore because the arm cushions are too low and too firm. And there is a crumpled bedspread that was over the sofa back tucked behind the cushions on all two sides. Ok, apparently the velcro is holding the cushions in place better than I expected. But that's evidence the cushions are not as firm as others complain. But I wanted firm cushions. I am 235lbs and I can feel the two supports from the fron to the back holding the cushions in place when I lie on it.
So now Im going to wash off the sweat and put my soaked pajamas in the washer too. In middle of second night. I'm going to keep it a few weeks to see if I actually continue to be so annoyed at it I want to return it. It will be the first time I will ever return anything I ever bought at Amazon except once I was shipped the wrong thing. So it was what I ordered, but I don't believe that should rate even two stars
If you have a new place with a narrow door like me, take the door off its hinges to get something else in. A cotton futon would be a better option. Don't fall for the pretty faux leather. You will hate yourself for it.
