A few years ago I seriously splurged on a Love Sac Sactional and have really enjoyed that it is modular and easy to reconfigure and move around. Well, I needed a new couch for a different area and didn't want to spend the same amount, so I got this instead as it looked similar. Each piece is similar in footprint to the Sactional units but is about a foot lower to the ground. They are much lighter weight but still very durable. Even though Love Sac prides itself on its eco packaging, I felt these had much less packaging--no poles or straps to dispose of (which is nice when you're already dealing with 12 large boxes). They are easier to move around and latch together than the Sactionals and the in-seat storage is easier to access because it is hinged. The cushions are also softer. The best part is that they have normal furniture feet and don't use the Sactional's cumbersome "foot and shoe" system.
The upholstery is not removable or washable, and the bottom cushion is permanently attached, so time will tell how these things hold up. But on the plus side, I saved a good 1.5 hours not having to put any covers on during the assembly process.
... And I really didn't need to wait that long. If you're like I was, you're probably questioning your sanity in buying a modular off Amazon. 14 boxes and a ton of extra screw drivers later (each box came with one), I'm just sorry I waited so long. This took less time to put together than my patio sectional and that had half the pieces. It's a firm couch with really stuffed seat cushions that I find to be very comfortable and supportive. If you're going Lovesac feel, then don't buy this one. But if you want "family gathering," "football party" vibe, buy it. Ton of storage, lots of room, highly accommodating to any space. The seat cushions do leave an impression where you sit. A con for me. But a minor one. Definitely glad I just took a dare and spent the money. Also, all boxes arrived early over the course of two days. I'm pleased.
I just received this couch and my wife put it together on her own in about 3 hours. Every box came with everything needed to assemble the component therein and shipping was quick. As I have only had the couch for < 48hrs, I can only speak to my initial impressions. I'll preface this by saying that I am 5'8 and weigh 130lb.
Pros:
-Modular and highly configurable
-Storage in each seat, good action in lift arm
-Fabric feels nice
-Removable back cushion for easier cleaning
Cons:
-Back cushions are extremely firm
-Seat cushions are STIFF
Since the pros are likely to be known before purchase (I mean, really, it's why anybody is buying these Chinese Sactionals), I am going to expand on the cons as this is what I wish I had known before purchasing.
As others have pointed out on similar Honbay modular couches, these things are quite firm. It's hard to know exactly how firm from a review but as a small guy, I was surprised that my body weight pushed me into the seat cushion enough where I could feel the construction and hear popping sounds. I'm holding out that the seat cushions settle a bit and become more comfortable but I'm skeptical due to the storage space underneath. There is just not enough give in the seat cushions to get really comfortable but they are shallow enough that you can easily hit the frame and I don't know how anyone from the US could find this good enough to sleep on. Are people just adjusted to sleeping on the floor or are THAT many reviews just bought and paid for? I really don't get how anyone could claim that they enjoy sleeping on this thing. As for the back cushions, I would consider these firm as opposed to stiff. They aren't particularly comfortable on day 1 either but these are much more likely to settle and become more comfortable and in the event that they don't, we can stuff with our own polyfill. I'm not as worried about the back cushions and what we received was definitely serviceable.
I will update my review if my regret diminishes or increases over time. As it stands now, I would fairly rate this couch a 3/5. You can sleep on it if you are really down on your luck but more comfortable couches can be had for much less. The modularity and storage is the big selling point here and while the product definitely delivers on those qualities, I am not confident that sacrificing the comfort was worth it to me. Hearing my kids complain about how "hard" the couch is was tough as we are now stuck making the best of what we have.
The couch arrived all at once for me, the shipping was quick and nothing was damaged. Each piece is fully modular and has good storage underneath. I have it configured into a 3x2 couch bed for now, and it's working out great. I'm 6'2" and 190 lbs and I can sit or sleep on this thing comfortably. It's on the firmer side of couches, but I prefer that especially in the summer. If you're looking for something to sink down into, look elsewhere. It took me about 2 hours to put the feet and pads on everything. This thing is great for people who move a lot and don't want a ton of huge bulky furniture to take with them. This is my couch, bed, dresser and a coffee table all in one.
This is the best sofa I have ever purchased. I have bough high end and med price couches . This is amazing I can configure the sofa in anyway with ease it only takes minutes and it’s so comfortable. We just fall asleep while watching TV best purchase ever.
I love everything about this couch. The color is perfect, the assembly was easy and it looks great. Not only are the seats big enough and comfortable, the storage under each seat is awesome. I am so happy with my purchase. I would buy from here again.
Comfortable and good price
