I’ve had this sofa in my office for five years. It’s very low to the ground and not comfortable to sit on unless you’re doing something like playing a video game. I pull in a regular office chairs whenever I have a meeting, unless I wanna make the person uncomfortable, in which case this thing does the job.
However it has held up over those five years, it doesn’t yet need to be replaced.
It is pretty uncomfortable S a bed, but I only use it when I have to work all nighters and I’m pretty well beat by then, so it’s a little better than office carpet.
I always planned on making wooden or metal extensions for the leg so it’d be a little higher, then I think it would be OK, but of course never got around to it.
Overall it seems to be pretty well made (although it doesn’t get much use), but there’s no way I could recommend it as a even semi-regular sleeper unless you put a good, say a Ritz Carlton, mattress topper on it.
For the price I really don’t have much to complain about! This couch is perfect for my studio apartment. Because of the reviews, I purchased a $20 mattress cover/pad. A guest slept on it for the weekend and said it was fine for the short stay! In the future I will upgrade to a memory foam pad for extra comfort. For everyday use the couch is good — I have no problem spending time on it for tv watching, lounging, etc!
I would recommend for a stylish, affordable option if you have small space. I’m also a short person so maybe not for taller people as it’s not a large couch.
So I was looking at couches for about 4 weeks now, daily, for hours. 6 Categories were of the utmost importance for me, and below are what this couch scored.
Aesthetically pleasing: 9/10
Notes: Looks modern & sexy on every aspect.
Functionalities: 10/10
Notes: Pillows move, couch folds easily, storage under the couch, arm rests, cupholders, what else can you ask for?
Price: 10/10
Notes: Looking at all of the other possible choices on the market, there is no wonder it's an Amazon Best Seller.
Height: 10/10 (although may differ for others)
Notes: Was looking for couches which were lower to the ground than others, thus- making the ceilings look higher.
Ease of assembly: 9/10
Notes: Fast and easy....but this is where I thought things were a bit weird. The back 2 legs already have pre-made holes in the couch for them....although the front 2 don't. You will have to use a ruler or a measuring tape and decide where you want to drill the holes in. Bit silly...but no big deal.
Comfortability: 2/10
Notes: This is where the company failed. When all else is perfect, why not just put an extra few dollars into comfort...which in the greater scheme of things, is the most important category. No way would you want to sit on this couch for hours at a time. Moreover...if you don't put some padding down on the couch before making a friend or family member sleep on it...they wont like you very much as I am near confident the following day they will be a bit grouchy at the least. In addition, the armrest is uncomfortable...as there is no significant padding...but rather just wood, which tends to hurt some people's elbows after a while. Lastly, now that I have had this couch for about a year...you can literally feel the springs coming from underneath every time you sit. Father refuses to sit on it.
Overall score: C+ / B-
For the price...this is one of the best couches you can possibly get...I say this with confidence, hence the Subject Line above.
Nonetheless- don’t expect this couch to be your “go-to” for relaxing or watching movies or relying on its foldability for sleep....because it is uncomfortable and firm. I truly can’t understand why the manufacturer couldn’t double or triple the padding, as it is so cheap to do yet solves the one biggest issue this couch carries. This couch is fantastic for conference venues, showrooms, waiting areas in offices or places of business, kids rooms, for ‘staging’ before selling or renting a home in order to jack up
the monthly income value, for a garage/man’s cave, or to be used as a contemporary piece to stash in a fairly unused large room in a big home to give an “elite” look. If any of these reasons are why you’re here today, then it is definitely your most affordable bet for the top-look overall.

I generally don't make reviews over things but I felt a bit strongly over this purchase.
You're getting what you pay for with this sofa futon. It looks nice, doesn't take much time to build (you're only putting on the legs) and is pretty medicore to sleep on. When in "Sofa Position", it feels adequate; not too soft, not too firm, nothing overly amazing or spectacular but it will do its job as a decent sofa.
You may develop back pain if you try to sleep on this regularly, however, a decent mattress topper could probably solve that problem (don't quote me on this though!). In "Futon Position", the side that folds is pretty firm and the side that doesn't fold is fairly soft. There is a hardness down the middle of the entire sofa futon so you will need to choose what side you want to sleep on. I'm 6'1 (and 190lbs) and do not fit on the bed unless I tuck my legs in, though I expected as much when I purchased it.
I'm personally going back to sleeping on my japanese futon with a tatami mat but will use this sofa futon as just a decent, pretty sofa for when company is over.
I really do like this couch, my first several days in my apartment I found myself eating at it in front of the T.V. the little drop down for the cups is super convenient and it still has space near the arm rest area for food/arm rest, ect. I also do gaming at this couch, usually a couple hours isn't too bad but I do find myself moving back and forth from sitting on the couch to leaning against it.
I have fallen asleep on this couch exactly one time and let me tell that it is a terrible place to sleep. It's too firm and the arms of the couch are Velcro so if you accidentally push/kick them off than you have to deal with that terrible Velcro feeling.
Overall, it's mostly a throughout the day leisure item but not the place you would want to have guests sleep (unless they're the type of guests you want ushered out the door)
Looks good in the room but not comfy.
You get what you paid for, and you’re not paying much, but it looks nice and is a place to sit, a very hard place to sit.
I’ve had this for almost a year now. The assembly wasn’t terribly confusing. I put it together myself and it took me about 30 minutes. The quality feels good and it feels like it’s going to last. The material is also very easy to clean and wipe down. It’s a little hard and not as soft to sleep on but for casual use it’s great. I also love that it looks stylish in the room

It's size. It's smaller then you'd think it would/should be, it's way to low to the ground. It sits lower then my ikea coffee table.

It looks like a couch in the picture. But in real life it will fit in a large dollhouse. When the Fed Ex guys dropped it off my jaw dropped! I said "Is that my couch?" then they said "Is this a couch?"
It was in a small flat box and the Fedex guy "rolled" it to my apartment. I assembled it and I was rolling my eyes after! It looks really dinky in my living room! I paid $660 Canadian +85$ tax. $745. I really felt cheated and I was going to send it back! Then. I would have had to pay the shipping back. And since it was used a couple of times, I was afraid that they would find some reason not to give me a full refund! Since the couch would be in their hands, there wouldn't be much I could to after! So, rather than lose 3/4 of my money, I decided to keep it. Lesson Learned!
As I mentioned earlier I really felt cheated by the price. Now, they raised the price to $879+114.40 tax= $994.

No more big ticket items by 3rd parties anymore! If it were Amazon, they would take it back no questions asked and provide me a label.
