I bought this to replace identical unit that was 20 yrs old. Wife used it to extinguish grease fire on the propane grill. She said it worked great! I was pleased and surprised to see this unit has no expiration date. Instead it has a test button that you should check frequently to ensure the unit is holding pressure. The replacement arrived with a broken plastic hinge on the mounting bracket. The old mounting bracket hinge had also broken at some point over the last 20 yrs and had a piece of sturdy tape placed across the crack. Other than a tendency to crack, the mounting bracket is a clever design.
Edit 9.1.19. Adding one star
This is the second one of these I've had. The first one was recently used with an oven element fire. It was only 15 years old and worked perfectly. put the fire out quickly. Didn't realize this was the same brand as the one we used until we got it and I compared the two side by side. Since the first one put out the fire and still had roughly 1/2 powder left i would recommend this highly as a kitchen extinguisher.
Great for the kitchen. It’s compact but should be sufficient to put out a stove top or oven fire if needed. I leave mine out on top of the refrigerator, not tucked away in a cabinet. If I need it I’ll need it immediately and nog have to dig it out. It doesn’t look bad.
Looks great, hope I never have to use this though :/
I bought this one to replace the one I had in my kitchen for 20 years (exact same model). I took the old one outside and taught my kids how to pull the tab and squeeze the trigger to learn what to do if there was a real fire.
Although the old one was 20 yrs old, it still sprayed well enough for us to show the kids how to use it.
It works
no fire yet
Just what I needed to replace my older extinguishers
It's replaced one I had that expired. It looks great.
