So me and my husband are pretty hefty people, I was a bit scared to purchase a bed frame online, because I know that sending it back would be a nightmare. However, the bed was pretty easy to put together between the 2 of us. The only thing I would suggest is to maybe label the pieces with peel off stickers, so we know what goes where. The sturdiness is awesome, even tipping the scales at over 500 pounds between us. no squeaking, moving, or breaking of any sort, even after vigorous grownup activities. Absolutely awesome Bed frame, and very stylish as well.
We are staying in a appartment where space is a biggest concern. We need a bad which is foldable as well as sturdy. We have started our research with furniture stores to many online shopping but nothing has impressed us.
We found this different zinus beds on Amazon and after seeing all reviews and pictures we were pretty much convinced about it.
But...Finally after arranging this bed we can defiantly say it's 5/5. Worth spending money.
1.Great packing.
2.Easy to build - nicely explained instruction manual.
3. Plenty of space under bed.( 12 inch under slates )
4.Rich quality.
I do not know if I have ever assembled a better engineered product. Workmanship is outstanding. Assembly is easy, or at least relatively easy for a 67 year old. Finished product is super sturdy and looks beautiful to boot. Got the recommended mattress for this bed frame, and it fits perfectly. And all for a price that that just could not be beat. If I could give this product more than 5 stars I would have done so...
I purchased this platform bed to replace the odd, Malouf Structures Highrise HD, wire-cot bed frame I received from the store where I purchased my mattress. My ex purchased the same platform, except without the headboard, and told me she was happy with it. I wanted a bed that made absolutely no noise as I live in an apartment building with thin walls and want to ensure noise is kept to a minimum. I'm up early in the morning for work (4AM), and for the rare occasions for "couple activity", I wanted a bed frame that made no noise.
While I sadly cannot yet attest to the platform's response to "couple activity", it hasn't made a peep from any regular use. It feels very sturdy, was straight-forward to assemble, and has a nice aesthetic that fits the monochromatic theme to my studio apartment. I purchased the model with the headboard as I've heard upholstered furniture can help dampen sound. I don't know if I cognitively notice the different before and after the headboard, but I'm glad I purchased it. As others have mentioned, the company ships this to you as the headboard with all the items packed inside of it. Once assembled, that leaves the space in the headboard empty, which I plan to fill with foam to help dampen sound.
Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase and anticipate that sentiment will remain steadfast in the future. I'll update my review with any pertinent details, should they arise.
Took me about an hour or so to build. Normally things like this come with just an allen wrench for assmbly, but this also comes with a ratcheting tool which really speeds things up! ( I know thats a small detail, but if they pay attention to stuff like that its a good sign). So I have my Purple mattress on this and have ZERO motion from the frame. Rock Solid! The slats also have velcro on the strapping which holds all the parts together for a completely squeek and wobble free frame. This is an incredible value and the quality cant be beat.
If anything changes ill update the post, but as for right now I'm very satisfied! HIGHLY recommended!
I was so skeptical about my purchase and did a lot of research trying to find the perfect bed! I'm so happy I went with this one. If you're thinking about it too much, then do yourself a favor and just buy it (advice from a libra= very indecisive). It was easy to assemble, it took about an hour. The best part of the building were the slats, they come assembled with velcro! I love the way it looks in our room, it's very elegant and unisex.
I loved the bed, but after 6 months of having it my husband and I found bedbugs inside the headboard! Had the through the whole bed away!! I was so disappointed
This is our second Zinus bed of similar style and we love them both. My only slight complaint is that the mattress sits on top of, rather than inside of, the sides. This means the mattress is prone to sliding to one side after many nights of climbing in and out of bed. It's easy to set up and easy to take apart, though. And it looks great.
This bed is amazing, I set it up by myself in about an hour or so. It was a heavy box, I recommend opening the box opening the headboard (where the components are) and carrying them separately. I found the instructions easy to follow. Most of the screws are already in place and you simply loosen them to slide the bed pieces together and re tighten at the end. I have attached step by step progress photos to my review. Also note the bed base is strong and the wooden slats are high quality and spaced out well
If you’re looking for an inexpensive bed frame this is pretty much as good as it gets.
I recently upgraded from a Queen to a King sized mattress. Our old queen bed and frame went into the guest bedroom. It was a dark grey tuffed wingback frame with a tall headboard and I was looking or hoping for something similar but on a budget this time.
The Zinus Frame arrived quickly and to my surprise in one (relatively) small box given the size of the frame. When I opened the box I was really impressed by the smart packaging. All the pieces actually fit into the back of the headboard in a zippered compartment. Good if you find yourself moving.
After set up I liked the frame but the real test was when we put the mattress on. we got a pillow top mattress and I felt like it took over in height too much of the headboard as well as the overall height of the bed. I am 5’5” so I’m not short but I felt like more of a leap to get on the bed than I was used to. This frame does not require a box spring and we did not use one but the mattress still managed to take over the entire frame. The mattress seemed a bit wider than the frame opening itself.
Overall, you get what you pay for. The quality is average, I still received compliments for the two days I had it set up but in the end I decided to return and look for something that fit my mattress better and had a higher headboard. I did like the colour, material and the fact that the footboard of the bed was visible. The legs were cheap plastic screw in ones but you could easily find alternatives to work with the bed. For the price I would recommend it as an alternative to a metal frame for a little more style and sturdiness.
This bed blew my expectations away.
The package shipped flat, all the parts are inside the headboard (zip up cover on back of headboard will reveal the parts) Very easy to bring into the apartment with use of a dolly.
The package includes a ratcheting Allen wrench. This makes the assembly of the bed a 15 min job at the most. The longest part of assembly was putting on the wings on the side of the headboard.
The headboard has nice hight, even with a memory foam+pocket coil mattress on the frame. I can sit upright to read and use the cushioned headboard as a back rest.
Extremely sturdy. No moving or squeaking, even with ‘vigorous testing’.
11/10 rating
I spent a fair bit of time reviewing bed frames online before purchasing. I wanted something simple to setup, sturdy, and nice looking, and this hit all the checkmarks for me, plus the price is unbeatable. Couple things that I didn't see in other reviews:
- It arrives in a VERY heavy box, that you'll need two people to haul in to your place (I was up a flight of stairs in my townhome and no way is it doable with one person). I have no idea how the delivery person got it to the doorstep, but koodos to them.
- all parts come neatly packed in the zippered storage behind the headboard which is a nice touch, plus you can use that for storage once it's assembled (maybe an extra blanket or two).
- nice touch to include both the hex wrench, and the wratcheting hex wrench (makes assembly with two people faster, and tightening down all the bolts a breeze). They even give you spare bolts should you need them.
- very intuitive construction and parts fit together perfectly, assembled in about 30 minutes or less. Once constructed this thing is as sturdy as a bedframe comes, and completely silent (velcro padded design on the wood slats helps), and no movement of the mattress.
- couple dimension comments: some people didn't like the height of the headboard with a thick mattress. My mattress is about 14" and I still have plenty of headboard to spare (see dimensions, about 31" from the wood slats to the top of the headboard, so just subtract the thickness of your mattress to give you how much will be exposed. I purchased the queen, so king sizes or others may vary from this.
- no off gassing or smell, even right out of the package.
- overall, couldn't be more happy and would purchase again for sure! Will update this review after a few weeks/months of use.
This bed arrived within a week, very impressed. Unfortunately, there was a major issue delivering this item due to the weight of this item. (It requires two people to carry it the box). I've noticed people docking points off because they were not pleased with the delivery, I'm not one of them. This is a product review not a service review on your delivery company.
The items were packed nicely it the back compartment of the headboard, making this a great and convenient idea for students or people that live in condos/apartments, or people that move frequently. The box doesn't just provide an Allen key, but it also provides a ratchet to make your assembly easier, in case you don't have one. These little things say a lot about the company and the product that you're receiving. It took about an hour or so. I'm sure I could have been quicker, but I took my time, the instructions are very clear. I recommend putting this together without a box spring, especially, for shorter people. Great product, I'm very pleased with the quality.
