The bed is nice and solid. The wood is real. It was pretty easy to put together but the instructions do need a minute to figure out. I love the tool they included instead of the typical Allen wrench, it made assembly go much faster! The Velcro for the slats was brilliant, I am not worried that the slats will slip over time like other beds I’ve had. So far I am very happy!
Update. The bed has been set up for maybe a week. Sitting in bed reading a book and the wood frame splits apart. I’m not sure how to ship it back because I don’t have the box anymore but if it can’t handle one person alone reading a book I imagine it couldn’t handle two people at any point.
This bed looks really good. Unfortunately it came with some major flaws. Most importantly, one of the screw holes on the footboard came without threads, not allowing the screw to go in at all. I attached a photo along with a threaded hole for comparison. This screw is critical because it holds the left front leg in place. Without it, the leg easily moves inward, potentially making the bed collapse on that corner. I have to adjust it every morning and night to make sure it is straight. One of the side pieces also came chipped in several places with small splinters hanging off. This is of course a safety concern with children and pets.
After contacting both Zinus and Amazon, the only option I was given was to repackage everything and return it. I would then be sent a new unit. I didn't even mention the damaged side - I just wanted a new footboard sent so that the leg doesn't collapse. I was told receiving one replacement part from a 100lb package was not an option. The box it comes in also has to be torn open from the side to take all of the long components out, making it virtually impossible to properly repackage every piece.
Overall a very poor experience. Buy with caution - you may be required to assemble, disassemble, repackage, drop off an oversized package, then assemble again.
Absolutely horrible product. The moment my son laid on the bed, the frame cracked in half. Amazon wants me to return this product before getting a refund but I can’t get it back in the box it came in. I’ve been on hold with Zinus customer service & can’t get an actual person to talk to about this issue. Huge waste of time & money!
It snapped after 2 days. DO NOT BUY! I ignored bad reviews because it looked so nice, but it’s not sturdy AT ALL.
Knowing what i know now i would rather sleep on the floor. I was forced to make two calls to the manufacturer before i finished step two in setting up the frame. The second call was because there were brackets missing that were supposed to be embedded in the frame to screw the bolts into place. I called the manufacturer-Zinus and they said "it wasn't their problem" and that I should call Amazon. Amazon set up an appointment to get me another frame. Of course i have to repackage the first frame and get it back to them... so now i wait. I dreaded ordering a bed frame through the mail, but i did it anyway, My mistake. The manufacturer is Zinus and I would avoid them, knowing what I now know.
I deducted a star for price and a defect in the
headboard. This bed is an amazingly sturdy bed but not $300 worthy. It is beautiful and a quick build. This bed shipped so quickly and Zinus 5 year warranty just like another bed we have.
Box arrived damaged but everything inside was OK. It was quite easy to put together and it looks great. All in all happy with my purchase so far
Whelp, when you read the reviews here you have to perform mental math. Whats the probability that I will receive a dud? It seemed on the lower side with this product, so I rolled the dice. The package was undamaged and showed up pretty fast. Its super heavy, so you definitely need a buddy. We started in on the directions, and right from the start it was apparent that I hade made a mistake. We had received two "A" pieces and no "B." I was crest fallen, because the pieces seemed to be well made, but without the part "B" I only had a heavy box. I wrote the company, who wrote back asking for all sorts of pictures and proof. We provided pictures of the product, pictures of us pointing to the missing piece, and much more. They assured us that our report was "elevated" to whomever. Its been months and we have already thrown away the giant box of pieces and bought an Ikea bed. All I can do is warn you- I threw the dice and sank like 250 dollars on this brand. They chose to ignore my emails. To them, I fall within an acceptable margin of dissatisfied customers. I guess they did the math and figured out what percentage of us the could take for a ride. Buyer beware.
