The thing I love most about this chair is how much it taught me about chairs. Never before had I considered chair depth to be a category I should consider, but I've come so far since the year and a half I've owned this. Short story: it's not deep enough and therefore uncomfortable to sit in for long lengths. Long story: I wanted a "fancier" fold up chair. Not your typical straight metal chair that would be cold against my thighs and remind me of events that underestimated the number of participants they would have in attendance and last minute have to pull out the dingy spare chairs. No, I wanted one with fabric that would be nice to my posterior. This chair is solidly built, opens and closes without any issues, the fabric is nice, it looks nice, I like their choice of a gray finish for the metal and red for the fabric; it's all around great, but sorry, it's just not comfortable for more than like 20 minutes, because the depth is missing.
BE WARNED: The bottom of the cushion is cardboard (the underside of the seat part). NOT metal. The cushion is nice. However, I purchased a couple of these chairs and the cardboard has broken on each one. Making it uncomfortable to sit on! I would recommend purchasing a chair with a solid metal bottom instead.
This chair has a very sturdy metal frame which does not flex at all. The frame has a good-quality powder coat. The seat has a generous amount of foam and is very comfortable. Fabric is a nice color and texture. It feels like a more expensive chair. Definitely recommend for your cushy folding chair needs. You will not get any complaints from guests.
However, as I discovered the hard way, this chair is not suitable for standing on. The seat pan is made of a thick cardboard-type material. Which under normal use is absolutely fine and maybe even saves some weight. I was using the chair to change some ceiling lightbulbs and the entire seat pan gave way, effectively ruining it. The frame was still in excellent condition but I did not want to bother trying to rebuild it, so we threw it away and bought another one. I am still giving a five star review because hey, what do you want for $25? It's not a ladder, it's a chair.
I love this chair for my seated meditation. I used to sit half lotus, but as my age has increased along with knee pain, I find that this chair is just right for me. I am 6 feet tall and my buttocks rests comfortably on the well-padded seat. The back support supplied comfortable support for my lower back. And my feet are flat on the floor. The think padding allows for me to sit comfortably for long periods. It is very study.
Great chair! I love the thick cushion, it make prolonged sitting very comfortable.
Pros: metal frame, thick cushion, good fabric
Cons: legs is not the best thing for a hardwood floor. You need to put resin cap on it
Yes, this chair is thickly padded, but it is hard as a rock when you sit on it. Also, the way the chair is designed, you sit too far forward & there is the bottom part of the back hitting too low on your back. But then the back of the chair is tilted so while the bottom of the back runs low on your back, the remainder of the chair back doesn't hit your back. It doesn't work too well to try to lean back as it is a very unnatural way to sit. I saw this in reviews, which didn't make sense, but it is true. A convential folding chair was regular upholstered seat without the thick pad is by far more comfortable. Actually I think the thick pad which you do not at all sink into is the reason the chair back doesn't hit in the right place & also make the seat be too far back on the chair. Too expensive to return so will keep it, but this is a very poorly designed chair. Actually, an all metal chair would even be better.
When new, the chair has a nice cushion to sit on. Unlike some when sitting down, the distance from my knee to the hip is short. This chair's distance is the same as mine, so it fits me quite well. What has happened over the last couple of months is the cushion on the seat has compressed flat-almost completely. In addition, while the horizontal part of the chair fits me well, the chair back is lower than most other folding chairs and it tilts away from you. This makes it awkward to sit upright or for the chair to provide back support. At this point, I am using an small lumbar pillow and an additional cushion to sit on. You can probably find a more supportive and comfortable chair out there.
horrible !
Really like the cushion seat & back. Back comes right across my lumbar area which I love. I am 5'3". It would be in a different position on the back of someone taller & shorter. I could sit in this chair to play cards or just for additional seating.
Also like the strength of this chair. Really sturdy.
