This bed is perfect for my 4 and 2 year old boys. It’s not so high that I worry about my 4 year old on the top and my youngest is close enough to the floor that I don’t worry about him getting hurt when he will inevitably fall out since he just moved from a crib. The bed was pretty easy to assemble and took me 2 hrs putting the bed together by myself (would have been faster if I had help). After reading reviews I set out all the pieces and read through the entire directions before assembling. That probably helped.
We have extremely low ceilings in my house. It made buying a bunk bed impossible until I found this. Its perfect! My daughter doesn't even come close to hitting the ceiling and my youngest is super safe on the bottom. The ladder does not have to be attached so I can remove it at anytime. Because it is low, its easy to change sheets, and it is really good quality. I highly recommend.
This is a great bunk bed for a young child. It’s cute and sturdy, and my daughter loves it. What the other reviews said is correct, though. The instructions aren’t very destailed and the pieces aren’t all labeled (although the instructions do actually tell you everything you need to know, you just have to really carefully compare the piece you’re using to the picture). And the wood is very soft, so it’s easy to scratch with the screws (but after assembly, how many sharp metal objects are going to be in your child’s bedroom). I’m very happy with it!
This bed is great. I was a little skeptical at first because of how low it looks. Its a lot better than i expected. Not sure why some people said the instructions were not good enough. I thought the instructions were actually pretty easy to follow. My only complaint is that there was four dowel pins missing on the steps of the ladder. No big deal i bought some at lowes for like 2 bucks.
Really unprofessional. Instructions are not clear and wrong (multiple parts have the number of pieces in the instructions wrong; no parts were missing though).
I was able to figure things out eventually, but now I'm stuck since one of the important pieces doesn't match (and I just started). The holes are not drilled correctly so either I try to fix it myself or send it back (the thing is really heavy with so many parts so it's going to be difficult and expensive to return). If you still gonna buy it here I suggest you pay the extra professional assembly service.
May 12, 2018 Update:
I changed my review from one to three stars. I finished putting the bed together. The bed is nice and feels sturdy.
With the right tools and forcing some of the screws in, I managed to overcome all the assembly issues.
One tip: The first step is assembling the sides of the bed. All the parts look the same but two of them have 4 tiny holes in the middle that will be used later to hold the metal bar in the middle of the top bunk. You should make sure those two parts are at the top on both sides. I figured it out when it was too late and ended up making new holes on one side.
This bed is perfect for my 2 and 7 year old! We had my 2 year olds twin bed on the floor so I was looking for this type of sleeping option, low loft with space for another bed underneath. I've only seen low lofts with storage space underneath, but thanks to Amazon... I'm very pleased. I thought it was going to be pretty low, but it's a really good size without being too high up close to the ceiling. Easier to make the bed at this height too, and it's so much nicer than just having a twin bed on the floor. There is also plenty of clearance so that my 2 year old can sit up without hitting the top. I love that we can remove the ladder when needed so the younger one can't climb up and the older one can jump down without it. The quality is amazing. Money well spent!
This bunk bed is so great. It was easier to assemble than I had expected. I was looking at getting a Pottery Barn bunk bed, but chose this one because of the price, reviews, and also because we were able to choose what side we wanted for the ladder (can't even begin to understand how Land of Nod/Crate Kids, PB, RH don't allow for some bunk ladders to be switched to opposite side!).
This bed is great! It took two hours to put together. A second person was needed to hold some pieces in place while I tightened. I used an electric drill with hex bit and torque setting so I couldn't over tighten. It would have taken a lot longer to put together and my fingers would have been worn out from all the turning without it.
It has a water based finish so smells nice. All the holes lined up perfectly and all hardware plus extra screws and wood pegs were included.I would buy this again and would recommend to family and friends.
