This "little" item was bought for our new puppy. She is now four months old and frankly, uses it like a trampoline! She has a small bed bought for when she weighed 1.8 lbs. She had outgrown that to the point should could not lie down and stretch out which she loves to do, so we splurged and bought her the Love's Cabin Large Dog Bed so she could have all the room she wanted/needed. Well, she loves it but never has used it to sleep on. She sleeps with me and uses her bed like a trampoline. She jumps into it and rolls around playing with her toys and then again uses it for getting a starting leap into my bed. It is a luxury item for dogs (or cats, I guess). The pillow which covers the inside and removable for washing is downy soft, the fabric is like plush and the sides on the inside are as well. The outside fabric is very much like leather and holds up under puppy teeth. I have laid down in the floor and tried to get her to lie down as well, but she's too interested in jumping over me to be still. She does love it and maybe when she is less a puppy and more of a dog, she will try it out on a rainy, cold day just to see how it feels. I love it and wonder how a bed would feel to a person with that luxury under you. A blanket made of that fabric would just put the icing on the cake. In case you're wondering, it is much too big for our dog, but we thought of the future rather than the present and expect her to use and love it later on. I certainly would recommend it, both for the small dog as well as the larger one. Maybe their trampoline days are over!
