I was very pleased with how much this holds and how good it looks in my children's play area! I was worried when I read some reviews about the material being too thin and tearing, but with metal bars reinforcing it it holds up even to books without sagging. It was easy to put together but time consuming. It took my oldest daughter and I just under 2 hours. It could take less time with 2 adults I think.
I love how attractive and simple these selves are. I am able to store my yoga blankets and blocks and also my essential oils and several diffusers. Great purchase to help tidy up any room.
Don't be fooled ... this is not 9 cubes that you can use to create any configuration. Because of the limited number of "multi-directional" interior connector bars (7, I think) and exterior bars (10?), there are only so many configurations that will work. Before you start connecting the rods, make sure you're paying attention to whether you're using interior or exterior connectors.
I ended up with a 2x2 configuration for the floor of my closet, as well as a 2x1 configuration up on the shelf, with leftover pieces that I ended up tossing. That met my needs, so it worked out well for me. But despite having 6 cubes set up, I would not have had enough pieces to put together three more cubes.
You don't need the silly little wooden mallet that's included to assemble these cubes. It can be done by hand. Insert the rods firmly, but don't force them (it helps to twist them). It's a very soft metal that WILL bend.
Also, these are NOT fabric. The dividers are more like a plastic-y nylon.
This was exactly what i needed for my toddlers bedroom! It was so simple to assemble (I done it by myself with the help of a 4 year old and 7 month old within an hour). It's light weight and easy to move if needed, but sturdy enough that it doesn't move when my daughter gets her toys from it. I really like how you can add as many sections to the rows as needed, or you could buy another and add on to make it bigger. However, i think the size is perfect it's not to big and in the way or is it to small to not hold anything.
If your looking for something sturdy, with space I highly recommend!
This has been so helpful in getting our living room organized! We didn't have much shelving and felt limited on where to put things. This bookshelf has a nice contemporary look to it. It was a little time consuming putting it together but it was easy and self explanatory. I've been able to bring out some of my books from storage and also have a place for toys that didn't really have a home before. Compared to a small wooden bookshelf we have, this bookshelf is just as sturdy if not more so. We did attach it to the wall so it wouldn't tip over since we have a small child in our home.
I was surprised at the small package that it came in over 70 metal poles a d over 30 sheets of a tough nylon
Raincoat type of material for the walls and & floors of the cubes, each floor &/ceiling has 4 metal
Poles for support. It's a lot stronger then what I thought it would be. Now to decide how I'm going to use it to get the best and most use of it. I may use as a wall divider in my huge 1 room apartment. I got it in grey . Which is a good cool color. I'm satisfied with my purchase and would buy it again. I'm still trying to decide but looks great anywhere.
Our small house is becoming overrun with kids toys. I bought this in attempt to regain order and our sanity. We already have several of the stacking wooden cube storage units in the kids room. They work pretty well but are rather expensive and a pain to move around.
I've come across these storage cube shelves in the past and was hesitant to buy them. I couldn't see how they could hold so much weight since they're basically cloth. Eventually, I realized that each cube shelf had 4 aluminum rods hidden by the fabric. It all started to make sense. After realizing that, I purchased one.
It was easy to put together. It even came with a little wooden hammer to tap the rods into place. Once it was all put together, it was super lightweight and really sturdy.
These shelving units work great. I wish I had bought one sooner.
I wanted something simple for my kids room that I put toys and books in. This has 9 cubes and even though it's REALLY lightweight, it's surprisingly strong. It wasnt challenging to assemble it really holds a lot! Plus it's only $30 which is really inexpensive for a functional piece of furniture.
