I have used sliders for year to move furniture. The hard part has always been to lift the furniture so you can put the sliders under the feet. So when I saw this tool on Amazon and the good reviews I bought it. I got it today . The first thing I noticed was that it was smaller than I expected. The lifter lip is a metal piece about 1 inch by 2 inches. I was unable to slide the lifter lip between the carpet and the bedroom dresser foot. This means that I have to lift the dresser (exactly what I don't want to do) in order to get the lifter in place.
So I tried another method. I got a small piece of wood and put it in the gap between the dresser side and the carpet, slipped the lifter between the carpet and the wood and was able to easily lift the dresser and put the sliders in place. (My own sliders, which are larger and tougher.) This worked, but then I realized that I will need a different size block of wood for each piece of furniture. Which I am not going to do. Instead I am going to return this item tomorrow.
Thumbs up, from our experience! We had all the flooring replaced in our house so furniture was flying in and out and to and fro. Along with the other necessary moving stuff - dollies, blankets, and muscle, this filled a gap and was a real help. The "slide-y thingies" were not used by the men moving things around, but I liked them and I will find them invaluable moving furniture away from walls for Spring cleaning. About the lever - I'm not sure it is meant to lift up something as heavy as an old upright piano, but lift it, it did, so that we could get caster cups under the casters. (I'm a 60 yr old woman and lifted the piano while my husband placed the casters underneath). I now have this set stored away for upcoming projects.
the handle works perfectly, however the pads doesn't work very well they constantly comes apart and you have to start all over re-adjusting the pads. it would have been nice to have 4 regular sizes and 4 large size instead of all small pads that doesn't work well with large furniture and it's the large furniture we need help with
I use these all the time! I'm always moving something and I use the pry bar to lift it and slide the slides under and away I go. I've moved VERY heavy furniture by myself. My parents and I recently bought a place together so I can help my dad. We combined two homes into one. There has been a lot of jockeying around since we moved in and it's no big deal with this kit. I slide something where I want to see what it will look like and slide it back if we don't care for it there. We've done this a lot!! 3 months and still fine tuning!
We recently moved to a brand new construction home (with wood floors) and through my research of what one now has to deal with as a homeowner, I came across an article of what to do to protect wood floors. This lead me to stumble upon moving systems and furniture felt protectors (for the wood floors). Because there are so many moving systems out there, this one caught my eye as it was "as seen on TV". So like any other person, I YouTubed this and I was sold within the first couple of minutes. This is a genius invention, it really glides from carpet to my new wood floors and vice versa. This was the only reason I started looking into these products, to protect my new wood floors. Look no further and buy these if you are reading these and are contemplating on something like this. YES they do cost a bit more but they are well worth your $$. You wont be disappointed. To give you an idea, I am 5'3' and weigh 110lbs. I'm strong but not strong enough to pull a 6 drawer dresser, 4ft long or armoire by myself across the carpet and avoid bugging my husband every time I get tired of the look of the bedroom and decide to rearrange. These literally work anywhere. I can move the dresser/armoire within milli seconds with hardly no force/effort. The only "complaint" I have is that the "power bar" it comes with (to lift up the piece of furniture) you sometimes cannot get it under the furniture piece and if you do, to pull it out from under the furniture once you remove the furniture sliders, is a hassle. It gets stuck and you gotta get creative, be a bit strong and quick to lift up the furniture piece for about 1 sec and pull the sliders out, which kind of defeats the purpose?! Other than that, I LOVE them, I would definitely recommend these. My husband started using them as well as he needed to move our washer/dryer without damaging our wood floors. Now he learned the hard way as he damaged a small part of our woof floors while he was moving the dryer, there after, he used them and it was so much easier for him. I hate (not really) to tell him this but "I told you so" suits it. He repaired the damaged wood floor btw and even uses them in the garage from time to time to move one of his tool boxes he has (without wheels) that weigh hundreds of lbs. Husbands: PLEASE avoid "I told you so" from your wives by not scratching/breaking or damaging your floors and buy these!
Makes moving heavy items easy
It did exactly what I wanted it to do excellent tool
The bar bent the first time trying it, this product is useless unless you are moving the lightest of furniture
If you like to re-arrange your furniture …...but don't want to wait for your man to help you move it.....then this is the best thing for you! This is the 3rd set that I've purchased over time and I use it at home and at work! LOVE IT
A nice package for moving furniture around. The lifter is made of metal and surprisingly strong and the moveable fulcrum makes it easy to find the easiest point to lift from.
Awesome product. Had before and gave to my daughter. Had to move furniture and being a senior the moving pads made moving furniture a breeze. Work well on carpet and flooring.
Lifted fridge up with it!! Was surprised it worked so well, making my 70yr. old back hurt less!!
Box of items appears to have been opened and taped a few times box appears worm and the plastic sliders also look to have been used. The box was not new and not sealed as new. The items inside work well.
