Primal Kitchen Primal Fuel Vanilla Coconut Whey Protein Powder- Updated Contains No Soy - 10g of Protein (1.86 Lbs)

I used to love this Primal Fuel, I've been buying it consistently for about 5 years. But recently they updated the formula to remove the soy (they replaced the tiny amount of soy lethecin with guar gum). You can also tell that the bottle is a little taller with a slightly different label.

But the huge difference - IT NO LONGER MIXES!! I always used to just put it in a shaker, shake it for 10-15 seconds, and it would be a perfect liquid consistency. But now, no matter how long or how vigorously you shake it, it still has a million clumps of little hard white chunks that don't dissolve. You can't even really drink it, because you feel like you're going to choke on all these chunks.

So incredibly disappointing. I hope they change the formula back or fix it somehow. But in the meantime, this is a 1-star product that should be avoided. I'll have to find a new protein powder...

They changed the recipe without any warning or info! Less than half the protein and fat.... That's a pretty drastic change! I used this stuff to support a pretty active lifestyle - now it's all about calorie restriction. Not the point!

...and the new recipe doesn't dissolve properly.
I love this stuff. I do a "lazy low carb/high fat" diet where I allow myself 50g of carbs per day and I make a shake with Primal Fuel daily. I use 2 scoops of this powder, a few ice cubes, 1/3 cup of half n half, and a little water to top it off. It is so delicious! The flavor is great and it's sweetened with stevia so I don't get that uncomfortable stomach ache like I do with sugar alcohols. Sorry Isopure... :(
I also normally stay away from any flavor that isn't chocolate when it comes to protein powders because chocolate is the only thing strong enough to mask the disgusting taste. But this vanilla coconut is so delicious! I am so pleased! It's the first non-chocolate protein powder I have ever enjoyed.
The only downside is that 2 scoops = 9g of carbs so it is a little high for people doing real, strict keto. But it's perfect for me and my 50g limit!
I will be buying this again. :)
I used the vanilla flavor and didn't have this problem. This is just an issue with the chocolate shake. When I use a blender bottle and ball, these white chunks float to the top and never mix into the shake no matter how long I shake the bottle. I have to chew through my drink. The flavor is good, but after using the vanilla, the texture of the chocolate is a disappointment. I tried to get a refund, however this item isn't eligible for return.
I just recently purchased both flavors and have started with chocolate. This is the best I have ever tasted in my life. It is light, not gritty, no weird tastes (I love healthy and eat organic but don't like yukky tasting shakes) with low carbs and good protein amount. I add chia seeds, ice cubes and collagen for a really healthy drink what is also extremely delicious. It may have stevia but it tastes like sugar to me. I normally do not like whey and yet I love this.

I plan to buy some organic peaches, freeze them, and add to the vanilla. I purchased two containers at $37.95 and the next day it went up to $47.95. I was not happy about that.
I actually really liked the taste of this and had high hopes it would work out for me. But it also gave me horrible stomach pains and a general feeling of nausea and edginess. I didn't realize what it was at first, because I just started going to the gym again for the first time in ages and just thought I had pushed myself too hard because I drank the protein shake right after my workout. Nope, it was the shake.
If you've struggled finding a protein that doesn't taste chalky or bland - Please, please, please try this. I never in my life finished a container of protein either because I hated it or I bought a new one to try instead. When I was on the Whole30 I bought this thinking it would be terrible like most other Paleo foods I was trying, but this is simply amazing.

I'm not sure if it's the recipe or just the fact that the coconut distracts from the things I typically don't enjoy in other protein powders, but it is so good. Even by itself it's amazing and actually enjoyable. BUT I do sugar free vanilla almond milk and a banana with two scoops and it LITERALLY tastes like a melted milkshake.

I promise you'll love this!
One of the best meal replacement combined with the Primal Blueprint I have lost 30 pounds. The price is also less than other similar protein. (Since my fist review price has gone up. The price is the same as the manufacturer)
This is the only protein mix I ever use, and the only one that doesn't taste like cardboard! Would recommend this in a heart beat!!! Easily the best tasting and paleo friendly mix in the market.
Great taste, clean protein!
You have to like the taste of coconut, delicious!
Taste great
