Perfect for replacing the SUN if it were to ever burn out. Purchased for my husband and myself to go on our new kindles. We laughed for about 5 minutes about how comically bright it was. My husband went to read while I was planning to sleep, and when he turned on his new light, it lit up the entire room. Bright enough that it was hard for him to read because it was hurting his eyes. Unnecessarily bright.

Such a convenient light to have on hand while traveling or in a room without a lamp.

I love that it is sturdy, but lightweight so that I can use it on paperback books...
It stays attached, flexes and brightens the pages well and doesn’t leave any marks on the covers or pages where it is “pinched” closed.

Girlfriend uses this light for a car seat light. Works good. Not too bright / not too dim. Flexible. And super light weight. our son doesn’t mind the light at all. She turns it on when we are driving at night.

Changing the battery on this product is non intuitive. I contacted Energizer and they were unable to help me. How can you sell a product with no instructions on how to replace the battery? This was probably meant to be a throw away item. Avoid this book light!

This light is so unbelievably bright, it becomes useless. I'm pretty sure that 99% of people who buy these do so so that they don't keep their spouse awake at night while they read. If that's what you are looking for keep looking, I have to build a wall of pillows encapsulating myself in what is remarkably similar to my 6 year old self's pillow forts, just so that the light doesn't keep my wife awake.

The fact that this thing doesn't require a dedicated city power grid to stay on for more than 1 second is a wonder beyond explaining.

Also the neck on it is fine vertically, it stays stiff and doesn't move out of place, BUT it wobbles from side to side CONSTANTLY and nothing will hold it in place.

I bought this because as a musician it's hard to see my music on the stage sometimes if the room is dark or has very dimmed lights. This is great, I just clip it to the music stand and turn it on all night long. I like the fact that it has a clip and I could clip it to a book or binder, or a music stand. And the on/off switch is a slide switch - so when I leave this in my music bag it doesn't have a button that could get accidentally pressed (leaving it on and running battery dead). I would buy it again, good purchase for under $10. The alternatives were all twice the price (or more).

So I've had this light for awhile now and decided to update my review. I initially gave it 5 stars because I thought it was perfect, at first. I've used this light to read about 4 books now and have had to change the batteries one time. I honestly should have changed them more, but it's a pain to do it, so I settled on reading with a dim light. First, the pros: Lightweight, works fine for awhile. Cons: does not stay in place when clipped to the book, light dims fairly quickly, and stopped working all together.
I gave up on trying to clip it to my book, so I held it and it was fine. The problem was that it stopped working. I went to replace the batteries for a second time and it never lit up again. Plus, replacing the batteries is a pain because it has 3 tiny screws that have to be removed.
I ended up purchasing a lightweight aluminum flashlight to replace this. I would say it's good for traveling and it's inexpensive.

This book light is good and does what it's supposed to do. Clips on, stays in place, illuminates the page.

This was hard to source, but it saved the day....or night! Got into reading at night before going to sleep. But using real books presented a lighting problem...as my wife complained about the spotlight being on! Got to looking for a "book light" and found them hard to find as most people are using tablets or readers. Thanks to Amazon, I found this light and it made both me and the wife happy! The clip can only grab a few pages...guess its made for hardback books but I am in the middle of a couple of soft cover books. Plenty of light to read by!

Bought this for reading pocket books in the plane, while on bed and even at night by the patio. I only read pocket books & if you are looking into buying this for pocket books, I suggest find something smaller. Although the light was really bright. It would have been nice though brightness can be controlled. Material wise, this is a rubber material and I am not worried that when it fall & accidentally stepped on it it will break....nah, this can take it unless the bulb itself is the one stepped on.
