This thing is AWESOME. Buy it. Buy several.
I have an older dog, who is starting to leak a bit, especially overnight. This is rough on him, as he's super sensitive to being clean and generally finicky, so he wakes up over night and futzes around / moves if his bed gets wet. This is rough on me, because every time he futzes around at night, he wakes me up, I take him out, then change his bed. Then, in the morning, I have to wash his entire bed and pad, towels, etc. And, given how finicky he is, products that are plasticky or stiff or disposable meet with his disdain -- he either knocks them off his beds, or lays down next to the bed and gives me a dirty look when I tried them.
This product has _saved_my_night_. *And* made him much less grumpy!
It's large enough to fit nicely on top of his bed(s). It's soft and flexible enough that he doesn't object to it. With this pad on the bed and a towel over it, his leaks are trapped and absorbed by the mat -- he doesn't notice, he doesn't wake up, he doesn't wake *me* up, and the towels on top of his bed are a *lot* drier in the morning, while the pad neatly traps all the, err, "moisture."
I've now bought several, so that I can run a laundry load every few days, instead of washing his big, stuffed bed every morning. He's happier, I'm happier, and we're even using less water and energy to wash/dry. Win win win.
Stop reading reviews. Buy this.
Its not very thick, meaning "padded", but it is the ONLY mat our dog hasn't eaten within a week of putting into his crate.
Really love this product. I ordered this originally in early 2018 and they have been great however, when I ordered the last time it was a 2-pack for $19.99. I was trying to order some more of these pads and noticed they are now $19.99 each. I get that prices go up but this equates to double what they were less than a year ago.
Quality and durability: Absolutely 5 Stars and I highly recommend.
Price increase by double: Sorry you must loose a star for that one.
I bought these puppy pads because I was at my wits end with my poor elderly female dog. She's about 14 years old and is having some incontinence issues especially when she sleeps... I had to relocate her to the kitchen and wash her bedding everyday and on top of that she would wake up covered in her pee and I had to dry her body off as well... I came to the conclusion really quick that this was just not gonna work especially with me being gone away at work for 14 hours... I wanted to find something that I could lay on her bed and that she could sleep on and if she had a mishap that it would absorb the Pee and keep her dry... Well they did keep the rest of her bedding from getting wet but they didn't keep her dry... And once they get wet they stay wet for a long time you either have to set them in the Sun to dry or just wash and dry them again... So I'm saddened to say they didn't quite solve my issue... I'm going to try getting a mesh bed for her to sleep on so that when she messes it will go right through the bed and onto the floor my goal is to try to keep her body dry.... I will then use these pads to put underneath to catch whatever liquid falls through the mash bed I believe they will serve sufficient in that case!
I have had this product for a week now. It has kept my 12 week old bernese mountain dog puppy dry at night if she has a accident. I wish I had one of these in the past! I dreaded nothing more than seeing a very happy, excited puppy wagging his tail and flailing his paws in a flurry of craziness trying to get to you in the morning. As you notice that the puppy has urine soaked paws/ tail and is flinging urine all over everything within a 6 foot radius. This pad is very absorbent, her fur never feels wet. She has not tried to chew it up either. The grips keep it in place pretty well, but I have the divider in my crate atm. It has with stood many washs and looks new.
I bought this mat to use in our truck camper on a plastic crate liner under the table. We have to very fluffy German Shepherds and they are inevitably muddy, sandy or wet in some capacity getting into he camper after our outdoor adventures. This mat does it's job in containing some of the "yuck" that we constantly battle with two big dogs and continues to wash up nicely in hot water, once home. Shakes off nicely once dry and even grabs quite a lot of hair, which is something they don't advertise. If there was room, I'd definitely buy a second one for our camper!
This is the 2nd one of these I have purchased. I just bought another when we adopted our new standard poodle. Sure they are not fluffy, but they cover the bottom of their respective kennels perfectly, & they wash up really well. They are a bit stiff when you first get them but we have had the first one for about 6 months & it has only gotten softer with every wash. Our male poodle loves to go into his kennel to yak (better than my area rug!), & this does the job catching all of the throw up so it’s easy to hose it off then throw in the washer.
I have a pitbull who has the habit of randomly peeing in his crate, especially if there is a bed or blanket in it. He was getting crate rubs from not having anything soft to lay on, I started searching and found this mat. It works amazing!! Had it for about a month now and his crate rubs are gone and the two times he has peed in the crate this mat absorbs all of it with no leaking. Held up amazing in the wash and I just hang it to air dry, which takes no time at all!
