The picture of the bag is inaccurate.. The actual front patch on the backpack is made of rubber, there are no Oakley symbols inside the bag, and upon opening the box, there is stitching sticking out on the bottom of the bag. I began to question the authenticity, until I called Oakley, and they verified that Amazon, is a licensed dealer, but even with that said, I’m beginning to question its authenticity. The previous Oakley Kitchen Sink I had, had the Oakley symbols inside the bag, with a cloth Oakley patch on the front, same as listed in the picture.. I’m hoping an amazon associate will reach out to me to discuss this at some point. This was a $150 item, and I expected a perfect description when spending that much on a back pack, not to mention the seam already starting to come loose right out of its packaging plastic.
I practically pack 12 hours of daily life in this backpack, and it'S not only beautiful and unique, but sturdy and spacious.
I dont own a car and I'm in university, so my daily life demands I carry my day's needs in a single pack where ever I go. To give a closer, and more clear idea about what this beautiful monster is carrying everyday:
- 3 text books and 3 notebooks minimum.
- Apple MacBook Air 11' inch with charger.
- 1 liter camelpack water bottle.
- large protein shaker (GNC)
- 1 sandwich and one 12 oz food container.
- T-82 calculator, Pencils & pens , contact lenses, small contact sollutio, small hand Sanitizer.
- Top compartment is for my sunglasses and two packs of pocket tissues and gum.... etc
- bottom compartment holds my Reebok zquick shoe plus a t-shirt and shorts for the gym.
- lately I have been carrying my down jacket inside and fits well too.
Final thought
This a heavy bag even when its empty, but it holds a ton of things literally size and weight wise.
Sits well on your shoulders and back even when its full and heavy.
Super durable. It has a lot of room and still fit it under the seat on the airplane. Has a lot of support for you back
I SERIOUSLY love this bag.
Pros:
- It's black.
- Tactical.
- Clip mounts.
- Fits three plastic water bottles per each pocket.
- Side straps on the pockets.
-Clamps keep backpack closed. Easy to detach by hand.
- Waist and chest strap. (Both heavy duty),
- Metal carry handle.
- The Little pocket on the left strap (I keep my fidget cube in there lol).
- The way the bag is designed, I could stand in the rain and none of my electronics would get wet.
- The front pouch is still accessible while strapped which is nice and I don't have to zip it unless it starts raining.
Cons:
NoOoOoOoOo! This is such a good bag! But alas, no bag is perfect.
- The top pocket (Protective pocket for media) I keep my mouse in. Very spacious and holds lots of stuff BUT if you forget to zip it back up before opening the main "lid" all the stuff falls out due to gravity. Grumble. It pains me when I forget and my mouse, thumb sticks, and pencils all go crashing to the floor. I have gotten used to it now but still, happens from time to time.
- The rain pouch and front pocket. I have yet to use the rain pouch as it shares the main pouches space. I don't have to store wet materials so this one can pass. The front pouch is still accessible while strapped which I mentioned before, but the problem is they are pouches, and not everything stays in them. I honestly would have liked pockets where the pouches are as trying to pull a pencil straight up is just weird and I would like to just go in and grab it.
Now...........my biggest con......
- They say "Versatile backpack featuring padded side-access sleeve for 17" laptop.....". Lies I tell you lies! Okay, not lies but my laptop's nickname is "The Behemoth" and she is THICK (Dell M4800). Coming in at almost 1.5 inches thick at 15.6 inches long, 10 inches wide she is a BIG momma. I bring her every where. I saw the side-access sleeve for 17-inch laptops and thought "Perfect! Mine is only 15.6!" Boy oh boy. I CAN get the laptop out, but it is like trying to pull a spoiled brat out of a candy store. I cringe as I can feel the zipper scratching away at my laptop as I force it out of the side pocket. So usually I just opt out and open everything up. If they gave me just half an inch more it would have been perfect.
Conclusion:
Would I buy this bag with its Pros and Cons? HECK YES I WOULD!
DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH YOU CAN STORE IN THIS THING?!?!?
Not only that but with the waist and chest straps, you barely feel it unless you are standing for long periods of time.
Like I put my 1.5 inch binder in there with my books, my Arduino boards, calculators, my "Behemoth" of a computer (6.4 pounds!), mouse(s) chargers, jackets, notebooks waterbottles, soda cans all in one load and yeah it was heavy but this bag makes all of that manageable!
>>I would definitely recommend<< this bag to students like me who love bringing everything with them everywhere.

To start the only reason why I give this 4 stars is because the Big Kitchen Sink backpack is better quality than this one but Oakley discontinued it. The pockets offer more protection to things inside. They stopped making the Big Kitchen and my fiance broke a few pieces on it, but I'm still keeping it.
I bought this one to replace the Big Kitchen and it is a good backpack. Fits everything fairly well, lacks a few compartments compared to the other one. the only issue I found with this one to be is that the shoulder straps don't seem to be as comfortable for me, the tug too much and spread apart, didn't have that issue with the Big Kitchen.
People need to stop trying to use this bag as put laptop backpack and complaining it doesnt fit their needs, the bag isn't made for that. I use mine to take to work and I travel with it. It has survived trips to Paris, Italy, Mexico, Israel and activities such as ATVing, Hiking, Camping, boating, beaches on top of that the daily torture of work. Understand what youre buying, you want a laptop backpack go by a Targus.
AWESOME! cannot get a better all around bag than this one. it's seams to me weather poof enough to keep my stuff dry under a light shower also it's dries quickly. I live in north UK and had a walk at the lakes in Feb and it's just grate! Bit heavy, but i think for this quality it can be expected. Use it for every day usage, lots of place to pack and organize, even my D7200 fit in nicely with my XPS15.. cannot recommend it enough.
I had on Oakley bag before for 14 years, and this one will stay with me for a long time for sure :)
Awesome bag. Great storage space for laptop and ancillaries. Feels like it gives good protection and has a good about of space. Very well made, only thing I would say is I wish the straps a bit bigger with better padding for heavier weight carrying but they dont ruin the bag as a whole.
I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend's birthday. He absolutely loves it, uses it every day! Quick delivery and well packaged. Thank you!
Love this bag take it on my walks, handy front compartment for storing chargers etc. Main compartment has two sections one cushioned so can safely store iPad or laptop in there. I like the bottom compartment for storing my trainers and waterproofs.
Was expensive but it’s sturdy and well made
Had this a week, don't usually review, this is a very good piece of kit. Glad I went for the Kitchen Sink rather than the Bathroom Sink. Just right for all my stuff plus food and drink for the day!
Would highly recommend.
It really has a pocket for everything and best of all really comfortable to wear, i wore it fully loaded on a family hike and the mid support buckles really made it feel light.
This rucksack really is the kitchen sink!
Brilliant.
Really great back pack loads of handy pockets , very very well made like all Oakley stuff , very speedy delivery , no messing about also very well priced I would definitely recommend
Nice quality, it's a little bigger than expected, can get more in it than I planned.
Sturdy, exceptionally designed, would have liked a little larger for my needs
Very small not like the original kitchen sink. Very expensive for what it is
Well made much thought gone into this
Great bag. Really well made. Lots of pockets and storage. It is much bigger than I thought and has an expandable bottom which I didn't know about. All good things.
Very smart but unsure what some parts are about
Built nicely and the quality of the material is fantastic. Plenty of pockets and quality authentic product..
