My little Maltese LOVES this bed! She is not quite 7 pounds but her hair makes her appear bigger. I've attached two pics to show how she fits in the bed. It has plenty of room for her. She is also a bone hider. There is a deep groove around the inside which allows her to shove a bone down in there. The middle of the bed is nice and thick and comfy. The bed can also be reversed so the solid gray could be the inside and fur on the outside--just in case a dog doesn't like fur. But they probably will because it's oh so soft.
Our puppy loves this bed! I actually just bought a second one, to have on hand when I stick the first one in the washer to clean it. It washes well in our washer, and I dry it on medium heat in our dryer. Super soft, comfortable and very durable.
This arrived on time and our cat took an immediate liking to it and did not miss her year old hairy bed. We have not needed to clean but the material seems durable enough for that purpose.
I think the picture actual says it all.
(UPDATES AT END)
My dog is a 4 &1/2 lbs chihuahua.
I was concerned that this bed might be too small, due to the customer images and reviews. However, she has a lot of space. I actually wanted the bed to be smaller, because I bought this dog bed to put on my bed. Also, she loves to be somewhat swaddled.
So far I like it. She got into the bed as soon as I unwrapped it. She sinks down into the sides or lies with her head on the rim. She seems to like it. The other "small" bed that I had was taking up too much real estate.
Update: 2 weeks in
She loves it and I love it. Sooo soft, so small, hair is left inside and not on my bed, and it seems to be well stretched. The pictures I saw on the reviews look like a different bed.
Another update 3 &1/2 weeks:
She absolutely loves this bed. The stitching is in tact. Since she's 3 yrs old, she doesn't chew on her beds. I love it because is so small; I bought it to sit on my bed. I don't have to worry about hair all over my bed. Love it!
My dog absolutely loves it! He's never slept in a pet bed before. He prefers to curl up behind my legs, which makes it extremely difficult for me to sleep comfortably. Then if I move, he has to move. For the first time ever, we both got a full night of sleep!
I can't even trick my cats to lay in this or step on it. They hate it. I also think what I got is too small for an average sized cat, or it's too chunky in the middle. Or maybe my cats are too chunky in the middle. Either way they won't try it. I'll try using it as a pillow to get better scents on it maybe. I tried nip and bribing them in with their fav treats
