I like the way it looks I guess. Assembly wasn’t too rough. Packaged cleverly. But here’s the thing : a couch is to be sat on, it’s hard to sit on this. There’s not a comfortable position. It’s just plain old awkward. I had high hopes, perhaps foolish of me for the price tag being considered. Or maybe I’m just fancy, I don’t know. I don’t think that’s the case though, all I want is something that looks nice and is comfortable as the same time; If only I had a lot of money. In the end, the couch just ain’t right. You buy this thing and you’re gonna be sayin the same, for real.
I've been looking for a small fold out couch for almost a year now for my small one bedroom apartment. Originally wanted storage/guest sleeping and found it for $600 at IKEA, a slightly too large sectional.
I don't have AC in my bedroom so during summer I usually sleep on the couch, being in a hotter part of Los Angeles. This futon completely looks like a couch, very comfortable seated position and sturdier than I thought. Looking forward to sleeping on it. Was very comfy laying down on the regular couch without folding down. Great color, tough fabric. Very firm, but I do like that. So thrilled for the price, quality and speed in which it was shipped.
For the price, I'm happy. I wanted a solid, child and pet resistant sofa that could serve as a bed for guests.
Pros: nice clean style and comfortable for sitting and laying down.
Cons: this is neither gray nor white which makes it look a bit like unintentionally dingy cream. But just a bit. Also, the fabric feels like polyester, not cotton (linen), and while that's more stain and wrinkle resistant, it's not pleasant against bare skin. Get fuzzy throws and soft pillows to compensate. Finally, it attracts pet hair more than most furniture. Just be prepared.
If this had cost more, I'd return it or take off a star, but its pretty much what I expected for less than $300.
That said, I expect this will stand up to years of abuse, so I'm happy. I'll update if that's not the case!
I purchased this for my home office/guest bedroom. I wanted to get rid of the huge bed in our guest room and replace it with a futon for guests and a sitting space for my clients.
OK -- a few things. The price is so affordable because the fabric isn't the greatest (and not the worst) and the fabric is stapled on and not neatly. BUT you can't even see it because it is tacked on the bottom of the sofa. I hope no one spends their time looking at the bottom of a sofa. Anywho, the futon is definitely very firm, but I don't find it to be uncomfortable. If you like, you can add a foam mattress if you're having guests or if you are sleeping on it frequently. I ordered the pink and for the most part it is a blush pink, but it can look mauve in certain light. It looked mauve under my stair's recessed lighting but pink under my office's floor lamp.
Oh, be sure to pull out the reinforcements if two people sleep on it. I tested both sides out to see if 2 people could fit on it, and I almost fell off because the weight wasn't evenly distributed. The legs are hidden in a compartment behind the pillows. BTW, two slim people could fit, but this is definitely made for one person.
My husband put the futon up in about 45 minutes; it came with tools, but my husband did use some of his own for a better grip then those cheap tools that come with things that need to be assembled. I helped only on one section so he didn't have to hold it alone, but it can be assembled with one person. The box that it arrived in is pretty large, but it's amazing how well this futon is folded up in the box. Don't overlook the instructions. You have to open the futon and the instructions will fall out.
Look, if you're looking for a premium futon for $200 then don't do it. But, if you understand how much fabric costs and how expensive good furniture really costs, then you'll find this futon to be a good deal. I think it's cute and a good value. I wish I had a reason to buy the other colors. :) Overall, I think it's an ingenious concept and look for the price.
Very impressed with this couch especially for the money! We put it in our Airstream trailer, and it has taken the design to another level. So happy we pulled the trigger on this. I also like the mustard color; unique and funky. It is firm but still comfortable.
Nice comfy couch. As is on photo. Very easy to assemble. The fabric is soft. Worth the money.
Awesome little couch. More comfortable than expected based on other reviews.
Easy to assemble and fast shipping. VERY worth the price!
Beautiful! Bought for a spare room/office space. Fits perfectly. It's not terribly comfortable to sleep on when folded down, but I laid a mattress pad on top and that did the trick perfectly. Fabric is durable and the design is gorgeous, the legs are so modern! Very satisfied!
It looks very pretty on the material is nice low grade linen look fabric which pulls easy if snagged seems to be well-made I don’t like the fact that it’s split in the middle and held together by door hinges but the big problem is it’s terribly uncomfortable to sit on I am debating if I’m going to send us back or not..
Update the feet under the middle started showing stress bends in the plastic you have to look close but that’s where the bolts go though and would eventually break from the stress of bearing all the weight in the middle being ‘split’ in two bye hinges .
I love this couch. It's such a funky colour, the price is decent, and it is easy to move (all the parts fold down and in to each other!)
It feels solid over all, though you can see a bit of the frame poking out from the fabric on the arms. Again, you get what you pay for :)
This couch has fallen apart. Do not buy. Legs didn’t fit into the holes when assembling. Holes were too big. Fabric is cheap and thin. Very uncomfortable to sleep on.
Is it possible to get a replacement leg piece, as mine came damaged. Otherwise happy with the chair.
