I used Zinus headboard brackets to hold my mattress in place. See attached picture
The welds on the middle section have separated in 3 different places after 3 months of use. Really really disappointed at poor quality of frame.
UPDATE-by February 2018 the two sides had completely separated from each otther
THE COMPANY DOES NOT RESPOND TO WARRANTY REQUESTS. You will see a ton of comments to negative reviews from the company stating that there is a 5 year warrant and providing email and phone number. Also, I have received no response to the phone number and email address left by the company to my original review. The 800 number goes straight to voicemail and they do not respond to email at their customer support email address.
I love this bed frame! I saw the other reviews about the mattress sliding and I also experienced this but I fixed it by adding a little hot glue to the slats, not gluing the mattress to the slats, but giving them some grip. Works great.
Bought this for my nephew back in July. Last night, his mom calls me and tells me frame broke. I couldn’t believe it, the description makes these seem indestructible. I ask my sister how it broke, and she tells me he just sat on one end to put on his shoes and BOOM, it broke. My nephew is teen weighing around 120lb, so I know for a fact he wasn’t the issue. I spoke with ZINUS Representative, and she told me the beds are covered for 5 years, as long the damage was on defective manufacturing. Will wait to see what happens on this case. If zinus does not replace this bed frame, will be extremely disappointed. Will update later on with my case.
UPDATE!!!! ZINUS agreed to replace the bed frame after sending them an email with purchase invoice and pictures of where/how it broke. The bed frame arrived today (12-13-2017). I am very satisfied with their warranty and customer service. If I ever need a new bed frame, i won’t hesistate to buy from them again. Thanks ZINUS!
Bought this in spring 2016. It was great while it lasted but towards the end of 2016/this year it started to fall apart. I’m not rough with the bed; I don’t jump or flop on it, I don’t have sex in it, I just hang out or sleep in it. The little metal lips where you rest the bars started to give out. They snapped off so there was nothing to hold up the bars. I’ve had to duct tape it several times but that’s only a temporary fix. It’s sinking in the middle. About once a week a bar or two will give out and I’ll have to tape it up again. I’m really disappointed in the bed frame. I’d be better off sleeping on the floor.
The bedframe is ok for my basic use in my apartment. I do have 2 negative comments. The spacing of the frame is 6" and you can feel the steel rod when you sit on the bed. I bought a 6" Millard foam mattress. Its ok when you lie flat as the weight is distributed. I am planning to install a plywood support. The second negative comment is that the corner will scrape your leg if you are not careful. My leg was scraped as seen on the pic. This reminds me to put something over it. Otherwise, it is easy to assemble, does not squeak, supports my weight and serves my basic needs
I just added a board from Lowes that cost $7. It is much better now.
Was exactly what we wanted. Can easily store tupperware clothes bins underneath. The only change I'd make is that the corners are kinda sharp. I'd rather see it have slightly rounded corners, like a mattress. I have bumped my shins a few times on the corners when the mattress shifts a little to one side. Which also brings up the issue that this thing is painted and slick, and the mattress does move around a little on the frame. If it bugs me more, I'll put some grip tape or other friction tape on the frame to keep things in place.
I love this frame. I was in a bind and was having to sleep on an air mattress for a while... I didn't like to have to crawl in and out of bed so I got this to ride it up a bit. I have to say, since I was on an air mattress, it made a bit of noise but I just put a sheet down on the frame and then placed the air mattress on top and that resolved that issue. I am a toss and turner ALL NIGHT kinda person this bed does not squeak and can sustain a compound weight of 350 comfortably. Putting it together took 15 minutes, I'm a short female with NO arm strength and struggle even with the most simplest of IKEA guidelines. I 100% recommend to anyone looking, you will not be disappointed
Advantages 1. Easy to assemble 2. Sturdy will hold the weight of a fairly heavy person 3. You don't need a box spring just a mattresses. 4. The company sells hardware to attach a headboard at Amazon.
Disadvantages 1. Mattress tends to slide off the frame a little since there is nothing to hold it in place. 2. If you need underbed storage this is not the best, since I have purchased this the company has introduced frames with higher under bed clearance and more modern lines. 3. The under storage is restricted by the two middle legs and bracing in the center of the bed and the side supports for all four legs.
Very sturdy and comfortable, don't need another person to assemble the frame, about 15-20 minutes to assemble. however, the only thing is the mattress can move freely on the frame, seems there should be something between the frame and mattress keep the mattress in place and dont move.
There are some other models out there that were cheaper and to be honest, in this price range was the lowest I found at the time and I needed the frame so I ordered. The complete item came in one box and was delivered via Canada Post which was surprising since it's a bit heavier than normal. I opened it up and again pleasantly surprised that the instructions were in an envelope and was almost IKEA like! From there, the steel was well cut with little to no fine edges, the screws and nuts were packaged in plastic and I even thought some where missing but looked and it was stacked on top of each other in the package! Nice touch to have spare parts in a separate bag to keep for later.
Finally, on to the construction side, as mentioned the components were solid and snapped into place very well. Took it slow and followed instructions; had to look a couple of times to review where the sticky bars went into the frame. Once assembled I put the mattress on top and it was solid. No squeaks or rattles after a few weeks! Good product!
The only con and isn't really a con in that you know what you are getting when you order is the height of 14". I would have preferred 12" but wasn't available at the time. But the good thing is that you can store things underneath as well as getting the vacuum under the bed which is nice.
