Ok, first the good: the bed is super easy to put together! 10-15 minutes tops! It’s black with with a gray-ish hue to it, so it was exactly the color we hoped it would be. The frame was straight, no tweaks, no bowing, no scratches, no dents! After putting it together it was very sturdy, no wobble. It looks exactly like the picture and it’s very pretty.
Now the bad: my first thought after putting the bed together was “this thing looks like a toddler bed!” My daughter was bummed. A twin size mattress fits it perfectly, so it’s the right length, it’s just the over all size is VERY small and not what my daughter had hopped it would be. Other than that it was a good little bed and like I said it was very pretty.
Now, being the handy girl I am, I decided to fix it instead of trying to disassemble it and ship it back. I had some 4x4’s leftover from another project. I cut those down to 6, 6 inch long sections, then I used a router and cut a half inch deep circular hole in the middle for the feet to sit in, I sanded them, painted them black and put them under the feet of the bed. An hours worth of work at most, and It lifted the bed to the perfect height. You could just purchase “heavy duty bed risers” from Amazon, but I didn’t want to wait. Now the kid is happy.
Over all I’d say this bed would be perfect as a first “big kid bed” or if you order risers or make your own then it’s a good teen bed. But seriously, it was under $100, so you get what you pay for. Just be mindful and double check the measurements before you buy it. But it’s a good bed.
Very nice bed. Love how tall it is and how easy it was to put together!
The but? It's a bear to put together by yourself. As a 70-year-old woman, it took me a few hours to get creative to assemble this bed. It is very sturdy, so I don't think that's an issue. The instructions were par for the course - lots of pictures and screws going everywhere. All parts are numbered with stickers. All parts are wrapped in plastic for protection. I made one mistake in the center joint and had to unscrew two screws to put another on, but all in all it worked out okay. All parts were there. The metal is very nice. No scratches or dents. Putting the platform bars in are a struggle. I used a soft cloth over the end and tapped with a hammer, which worked fine. It's good value for the money. Matress arrives next week. Now I need an extended nap. What a workout!
We bought this bed frame in the twin size for our toddler. It is easy to assemble if you have put tother other furniture before. I assembled it by myself with toddler's help. The instruction is understandable enough that you might make minor mistakes which are changeable. It's sturdy and does not make any weird noise when my toddler and I played on the bed. I think it is a good bed frame on a budget. We store her toys under the bed and it helps the room looks so much cleaner and organized. I personally like the hight of this bed frame because you can see underneath and clean very easily. It's not sleek because the knots and bolts are silver and bed is white so you can see the engineering part of the bed but it's not ugly either. I think if your expectation is right, you will be happy with this bed frame.
Cute- teen loves it. I (petite woman) assembled it with just the Allen wrench and small tool that came in the package. Assembly was smooth. Instructions are bare bones, but sufficient- not all parts had labels but those that didn’t were easy to discern from the pictures in the instructions.
Frame is light but sturdy. It was fun seeing a pile of metal develop into a cute bed frame.
I was a little worried that the crossbars would be felt underneath the mattress (as there is no box springs in this set up) but it is very comfortable even for an average sized teen.
Definitely recommend this bed frame - it also has a good clearance height: not too high, but high enough you could store stuff under it if need be.
Other than that this bedframe is a cute flower design white bedframe and sturdy, what I want, but yes it can be better. First, it was hard to assemble, said my 20 yo son and I saw he struggled with it, and believe me, he had assembled gazillion (we just move house). There should be a better way to screw the bolts than just a small tool. Second, there were no hooks to hold the mattress from slipping out. I had to adjust the mattress every single time I get off the bed. I'm so ready to sell this bedframe. But if you don't mind the two challenges, this bedframe is actually not bed. I still give a 4 star review.
So, its exactly what I expected it to be for my toddler and I wanted get another one for my eldest (12 y.o) since she did like the way it looked for her sister. Only couple of things that should be noted is that this bed frame needs a gooood mattress to make it comfortable. It doesn't have the curved wooden slates so its uncomfortable if you don't have a spring mattress. We bought a memory foam mattress to pair it with this frame but since our daughter is so small it works for her but our eldest complained its a little hard. Its also low in height so if buying for an older child or adult you may want to consider stilts to raise it up.
There is no lip on the bed's frame to keep the mattress from sliding off. I had to screw on a length of white (to match) board, an inch up of the bed's platform frame, to prevent the mattress from skating side to side. The bed is decent for the price, but cheap metal. The included allen wrench tool was stripping by the end of its use.
I ordered a similar bed from different company for my other daughter and it's higher quality for the same price, and the mattress, although there's no lip, doesn't slide around. It seems to be about the paint finish. The white bed described above is glossy and smooth, and the black bed is matte finish.
For my 10 year old daughter, other than the skating mattress issue, the bed is fine and works. I put one star to catch your attention to this issue.
