I got 2 of these shelves and they're perfect. Incredibly sturdy. The little dark triangles at the front are were the corner protectors for shipping. They also work to help prop up the front just that hair that helps keep the shelves tipped back so the weight doesn't slide the books all forward.
Easy to put together, fits in our space, holds books neatly. Not sure what else anyone could ask from a bookshelf. Would definitely buy again.
These are actually pretty great for the price. We used them to organize our kiddos playroom post-Christmas and they do the job. They were easy to put together and even came with wall anchors to attach. They are not the highest quality, but we were looking for something that could take a beating, get colored on, and still store a lot of toys and books without us caring about the cost and for that these are perfect
I had been looking for a bookshelf for a very long time when I came across this one. I was so excited about the price and the way it looked that I didn't bother looking at the reviews (shame on me) before I ordered it. After the order was already processed and the thing had shipped, I found some of the reviews and was actually really scared. Everyone said that it was cheap and weak and wouldn't hold anything. Some even said it fell apart as they were trying to stand it up. Needless to say, I was a little worried.
When the box showed up (2 days after it had originally be scheduled to be delivered) it was really beat up and torn in several places. I was worried that it had affected the pieces inside it was so bad. I don't know if that happened with UPS or what, but it was the worst condition I have ever had a package show up in. Thankfully, the pieces were unharmed and I started trying to put the thing together, only to realize, that the hardware was missing. I don't know if it was because the box was so damaged and it had fallen out or if it had just been packed without it, but I was kind of upset that I couldn't put it together.
I contacted the Furinno customer support line on the instructions (which were practically in shreds by the way) via email and told them that the unit came without the hardware. I honestly expected to have to go out and buy the hardware myself, but I felt they should know in case it was a packaging issue on their end. I got an email back within an hour asking me the order number and the unit model number and they told me they would send the hardware out at no cost to me and apologized for the inconvenience. I got the hardware a few days later and was able to FINALLY put my shelf together, which was when the real worry began.
As I was assembling it, I was really worried about it all falling apart like most of the reviews had said. But I was very surprised at how sturdy it actually was. It was easy to assemble and it actually works perfectly for what I need it to! I know it's bad, but I even tried rocking it a few times to see if any movement or slight bump (I have two kids who play in the playroom where my shelf is) would cause it to fall down. It didn't. I am actually very happy with this product and have attached a picture to show what it looks like put together with all my books on it.
If you do everything, like they suggested, follow the picture, don’t rush, have enough space, You going to have nice sturdy shelf ! You just need little bit experience, with screwdriver, hammer and common sense. Don’t think about 30 min what they give you to install the shelf, I am disabled and it took me about 50 min , my advice, just look at manual first and imagine every step, do it slow and accurate, for little nail use pliers with thin lips to hold it , save your fingers! That’s it!!!
This got bad reviews for being cheap but it was absolutely perfect for us. The price can't be beat and it looks great in my baby's nursery. It was exactly what I wanted and easy to assemble. Love it!
I guess I should have known what I was getting because of the price. It does the job for what I needed it for, which was for our homeschooling books. The nails that keep the back on are too small, so I used our own larger ones. You do NOT want to place this on carpet if you have children because it will tip over. Needs a flat surface in my opinion. The long, skinny piece that goes on the bottom has no clear instructions for how to put it on, so I just shoved it under the shelf after assembly. Like I said, for what I need it for, it works, but if you have the money go buy something sturdier. Took me about 35 minutes to put together by myself.
First one arrived with no problems. It put together easily and looks nice - I like that the shelves have cut outs to rest on the supports instead of sliding in so they’re less likely to fall out. I inboxed the second one and started assembling it before I realized there were major cracks in the sides. Same item, shipped same day, totally different experience. The cam locks won’t release, so I can’t fit in back in the box to return it and I’m not comfortable putting anything valuable or heavy on it. Customer service hasn’t been any help, so It’s a loss for me. I can’t really recommend buying this, seeing as so many others have also had trouble with damage.
Instructions ripped, damaged corner, packs of screws opened and cormers of units damaged. Flimsy piece of rubbish, the back is cardboard no thicker than a puzzle. Wobbly and of extremely poor quality...only keeping as for Daughters bedroom, but thinkI should receive a discount. Do not buy.
I have been adding more and more books to my collection. I am an avid guitar player and tend to buy a lot of books; sometimes just for the sake of buying them. My living room was getting untidy and the books were piling higher and higher.
I decided to buy a book shelf to store the books. A lot of the books are A4 size, so I wanted a book shelf that would fit in all the books as they were varied sizes. This book shelf did the trick.
I found it very easy to build and it measures up for all the books I had bought. 3 decent sized shelves and a good width so it can hold a lot of books. Definitely does what I bought it for and more. It sits in my room and I can take a couple of books down to the living room then return them...though I would say if it was black then I could have left it in the living room...I wanted the books out of sight but easy enough to get my hands on any books that I wanted to re-read or use for practise.
A very good buy at a great price. Well worth the money
Instructions were a bit confusing but once you start is easy to crack on and finish it fast. A very sturdy bookcase and very reliable.
I did not like the weak cardboard backing that was basically very weak and easily tore when handling!
I was very surprised and not impressed!! The wood work finish would have been better quality!! I know I would have bought better else where
Poor product , panels wrongly identified and predrilled holes drilled on wrong sides, backing made from cardboard not hardboard, gaps between shelving panels and sides, definatly not worth the money , I would never buy again or pay £63.40 !!!
