Don’t expect to hear the alarm- it barely makes a sound.

I had one of these timers that lasted for years. It finally stopped working because I dropped it. I couldn’t resist buying another one.
The timer ticks, the bell does not go off. No matter how you turn it, past the 55 or anything.

I wanted a timer with a bell, not a timer I have to watch to see when the time is up.

This is a cheap, made in China product, and I should have known the Chinese would make bad quality.

that is why they say cheap chinese. I had to buy a new timer, and I will pay more to get better quality.
How frustrating! How do you mess up a simple timer?? My grandparents have a black dial timer that still works 50+ years later. This one worked ONCE. Now it rings at 3-4 minutes but not at 0, sometimes it doesn't ring at all, it randomly gets stuck. How in the flip are there so many good reviews??????
It's hard to find a manual kitchen timer these days with a tight winding mechanism, accuracy, and a loud, sustained ring that also sells for a reasonable price. The Taylor Mechanical Timer is accurate and the ring is loud enough to be heard in the next room if there isn't a lot of ambient noise (like a loud TV). It's also very quiet: you can't hear the ticking unless you press it against your ear. My main objections are that the ring doesn't last very long and that when I turn the dial to "5 minutes" or "30 minutes," I don't feel the same tightness (resistance) that mechanical timers used to have. I can recommend it because it does the job, but I had my last mechnical timer for a decade, and the soft winding mechanism makes me wonder if this one will last anywhere near that long. Since the price is relatively low, though, I'll settle for three years.
Nice display easy to read. The spring wind up action is easy to doand doesn't ring long maybe 5 seconds.
Favorite among analog timers. Love the look, Angle, Size, Feel, Weight. Numbers clearly easy to distinguish.
Business End: Accurate to Second Timer goes off 60 seconds prior to your set time. Great Bells calls you back, while continuing to tick away any remaining seconds. A well designed system for busy, multi tasking persons! Or persons who might want to relax while the Timer does its job. (Who stands around to watch the timer? It's the timers job to keep time.)
Perfect for our use. Would definitely recommend.
I especially like the way it's built. It appears to be of much better construction than every timer available locally. I have used it several times, and I'm very happy with the accuracy. The ring tone signaling the time is loud enough and long enough to be effective...I've even used the timer outside at the grill.
Not much more to know other than it's a simple, old-fashioned mechanical timer. It is reasonably accurate (for a mechanical timer) and very easy to read. First one arrived DOA but replacement works well.
the bell is so faint! if you are not in the same room, you can not hear it.

The model that I received does not have a 9 second ring. I set the timer for different times, multiple times, and timed the ring and each time, it consistently rang for 5 seconds only.
