After reading all the reviews I didn't even bother fighting to try and build this thing. So, I chose to pay $125 extra to have an Amazon professional come out and build and install this unit. BEST THING I did! Two guys came out to build the unit and installed it after six hours! to find out that the 3 drawers did not fit. I called the manufacture the next day to find out what was going on and they informed me the directions were the wrong ones that were sent with this unit. The manufacturer sent me the correct directions and the installers had to come back out and spent an additional three hours taking the entire unit completely apart again to reassemble the drawers so they would fit per the new directions. Roughly 10 hours of total labor for this damn thing! Good thing I only paid $125 for the Amazon service they offer at check out. HIGHLY recommend paying for that. The total price after 10 hours of labor was still $125. Spend the extra money it's a good looking unit when complete! Heavy duty too. I installed LEDs underneath looks cool
Took myself about 2 hours to assemble everything and took about another 2 mounting everything (including wall, shelf, and tv). Love the end product but I have to minus one in hopes that they include better instructions. I've upload some pictures that may help in assembling it, they do provide you with images with numbers to show which part connects to what, but they don't label the actual part so we used these images for reference when assembling it. I also added some notes and some mistakes I've encountered here: [...]
Unknowingly to me, this one actually includes a mount for the tv but we used our own mount since we already had one and it was not stationary like the one that comes with it. Also with the LED light, the positive wires were labeled with a "+" sign and the blue wire on the lights are the positive wires and hook everything as positive to positive and negative to negative.
The TV we had was 70" and about 60-70 pounds.
Would give 5 stars but it was only made of fiberboard with a laminated wood finish. Looks great though. Instructions were really good in my opinion. I had all the parts needed and even extra pieces of screws and small parts came with. I mounted to drywall. I just made sure that at least one of the lag screws went through a stud on each metal bracket. Then i bought 80 lb drywall anchors (get the high quality ones) for the second screw in the bracket that missed the stud. Worked just fine and the unit is solid and safe for sure. I also had to move one of the brackets on the back of the stand portion to align better with my bracket on the wall. Not a problem though. I also put some 7/8 inch boards behind the panel where i plan on screwing my tv mount (not the one included) through the panel and into the studs. You want to have these 'shims'. Any lumber will do. Just screw into the studs and then the panel will go over them perfectly because the whole unit sits 1 inch off the wall. I am very handy though and if you are not at least a little handy then plan on it taking you a long time to install it properly. I would recommend buying the amazon install service in this case. Took me about 3 hours with my wifes help and then 3 more by myself. I would recommend this item for sure!
