Needed a replacement to an old frame and this looked good. Its strong points are:
1. It is superbly engineered. The design is expert and presents a very stable platform for most likely any bed.
2. It fits most King beds and the box springs fite perfectly.
On the down side:
1. BEWARE when finishing. 4 of the final slats have two sided tape to inhibit box spring movement. You must tear off the top tape only! This fact should be made more expressly. We pulled off the tape and both came off. Then we realized there were two tapes. That is the only defective design element.
2. In a sense this is a rocket launch pad! That means you have a lot of assembly. There are some 36 bolts that need insertion and the numbered pieces help but it is time consuming and helps if two people do the work.
3. It is heavy. It is not your typical frame, it is a well manufactured and engineerd metal system.
4. No surprise but don't try pushing your vac under the bed.
5. Place it where you want it. Moving it about is no mean task. There are no wheels and the design ensures a stable platform, no movement.
6. It makes the bed VERY firm. The cross bars are the equal of a very firm full plywood over the bottom frame. If you like a less firm bed you may want to rethink this. Will try removing the slats and see what that does.
7. BUT, after two weeks the bed has become rock solid! Guess we will try to return it. If you like a very firm structure this is your best choice. BUT if you have become used to a less firm structure this may, in my opinion and my experience, disappoint. It is a shame because it seems so well built!
8. HOWEVER, it seems to me based upon my experience and in my opinion that if you seek to return it you are out of luck. Thus you should be certain that you REALLY want this sight unseen because it is yours. Ours unfortunately is being donated to a local charity. Hopefully someone may find it useful. Also it is very heavy, almost 90 pounds.
What I like most about this bed frame is that it's strong and has no sharp edges, with the added bonus of being easy to clean underneath with the vacuum. My husband and I assembled this bed in half an hour. Because he's a big man, we added a plywood base over the slats, which will spread if enough weight is put on them, something all frames we looks at have a problem with. The slats are closer together than other frames, which is a plus.
This bed is steel, has an excellent hard finish that resists scratching and marring. I like that it has no sharp edges and that, when assembled, there is absolutely no wiggle or shifting. My husband tested it for that and he's a bull of a man who easily packs a couple of 80# sacks of grain on his shoulders with ease. When he pushes on something, if it's going to give, it will give. This bed frame is solid.
Once we got the bed put together and made, there is absolutely no movement, even when "exercising". :D
Solid frame with an easy setup. Was tired of breaking most of my box springs and platform beds (6'4" 280lbs) and so was my wife. This is an amazing sturdy frame that has not given any play whatsoever even during extra curricular activities.
I recieved an open box at my door (completely open at both ends) and a bed frame that was actually different (very similar, but different) than the one that is pictured. I am missing the corner detail and there are more members at the sides of the bed instead of just the one cross piece that is shown in the photo. Also, the photo shows two cross frames, and my frame only has one. My frame also appears to be slightly thinner than the one pictured. The reason I'm giving this two stars, not one, is that at least it's the right size (queen, 9" tall) and it was very easy to assemble - a total of only 16 screws. To make matters worse though, it's now being sold for $100 less than what I paid for it. What a kick in the ribs, guys.
I researched a lot of bed frames in this price range before settling on this one. A common complaint of most cheap frames is that they seem great in the beginning, then start squeaking after a couple of months (intolerable for me as I'm a very light sleeper). This cheap bed frame is different. It is heavy, super-solid steel and doesn't move at all. Even after frequent adult times, it's still totally squeak-free. Also, it has a really appealing clean minimalist look on my hardwood floors. I love it.
I guess I thought 9 inches was wayyy bigger/taller..... hmmm much like dating!
It Was? Very easy to put together with the supplied, Alan wrench. It’s real, low profile. It IS, your box spring n very comfy. The long, thin box it got sent in? Stuff was falling out of the ends. FedEx, opened the door m just dumped the heavy box, into the 3 feet of snow. Boxes n snow? Not a good move, as we picked up poles in the snowy walkway.
But it’s low, sleek and seems very well designed n strong. Great price, too.
I’d buy it again!
Best wishes☄️
I love everything about this bed frame it was super easy to assembly but it does take two people to do so it’ll go a lot smoother . Only took us 20 minutes to put it all together . I am just so in love with it worth every penny .
I could not be more satisfied with this bed frame. It came very well packaged. Easy to assemble! Very sturdy and heavy. Love it! Tip: package is very heavy. We opened it downstairs and carried the pieces upstairs. Don’t remove numbered labels or up and down arrows until after assembly!
