The slats are extremely thin and flimsy. The reason they can (almost) support weight is because they're curved so there's an arch giving extra support. Some engineer must have come up with the idea and it's a failure. I have a 9.5 inch memory foam mattress. I'm not using a box spring as the frame is clearly designed not to have one and would look strange if I did. The bed works fine if you're lying still but otherwise it's horrible. Getting in and out it feels like it's about to collapse. I have to be especially careful not to concentrate any weight in one section. God forbid an adult stands on it, it will break a slat no doubt about it. There is no way that two people with a combined weight of over 350 lbs could safely have sex on this thing unless they stay firmly above the center steel bar--a bar you can feel quite easily through 9.5" memory foam if you shift around at all. I've purchased very cheap bed frames before and gotten perfectly acceptable (albeit Spartan) products. Not this one. This is one of the worst purchases I have ever made. I really like the look of this bed. Very nice and sturdy. All the hardware can be found in the headboard. Took a couple hours to put together, but once done, it looked fantastic! One very awesome detail that I've not seen before is, all the hardware once screwed in can be covered up by the material that velcros back over the screws/holes. Was shipped quickly and received before the date expected. This bed frame is modern and quite sturdy. I had been sleeping on a iron bed frame with a rather thin mattress, this is a move up for me and the frame is well worth the money. Good buy. Absolutely horrible purchase. The boards are flimsy and after less than a month 5 have broken the head board is weak and wiggles at the slightest movement the only good thing i have to say is the apulstry looks decent. It was mising bolts whitch thankfully it came with extras. A huge wast of money and will not purchace from this company again. Overall, this bed is a good value for the price. It looks good: very sleek - doesn’t look cheap & goes well with almost anything. The low profile is perfect because my dogs can easily jump onto the bed now. It’s also very sturdy. I suggest putting non-skid felt pads at the bottom of you have wood floors like I do.There are three things that lowered my rating to a 4 though. First, the assembly is very tedious - lots of parts to put together, but I’m guessing that’s part of the low price since no labor went into any assembly. Second, the legs are plastic, not real wood. It’s very sturdy though & you don’t notice it once the bed is put together. Last, the middle seam of the side panels don’t line up straight, but I just let my blanket hang over it so that it doesn’t show. some people complain about the assembly, but it is not that difficult. they even send spares. but in the instructions, it says not to tighten everything after the second step, and they are correct. I love this bed, everything about it is great from the aesthetics of it to the sturdiness. I only have two comments to add: 1. While it is easy to assemble, it was VERY time consuming. There are A LOT of parts. And the instruction manual was only pictorial. 2. They is a foot on the middle of the side panel that can be a nuisance until you get used to it. I’ve hurt myself making the bed several times before I learned quickly to avoid it! Nice looking bed. Lower than others I have purchased which you may not prefer.
