I have a "Roll n Lock" on my other F-150 and I put this product better than the R & L. It took me about an hour to install it with the help of my neighbor. The fit and finish on the product is very nice, and I mean it is really nice. I like the dual locks on this unit vs my other single lock using a rod. The cover panels are high quality and not covered with some vinyl type stuff like my other unit. The instructions are a bit lacking but if you have any mechanical skills, it will all make sense when you start. (I would suggest the company make a youtube install video!!) After washing the truck, I had a few drips toward the tail gate, but to me that is super acceptable as I don't think you could ever get it 100% water tight, lets be real. Even my roll n lock leaks. The drains were easy to install and work very good. I was impressed to see a small bag of future replacement (wear) parts and the extra set of keys. For $800.00 don't hesitate to purchase this cover and jump on it before the price goes up to the $1,400.00 competitors prices.Dirk I just installed my cover today. Here is how it went:The pictures in the installation instruction are of poor quality but I was able to muddle through it with use of the pictures and video online from Amazon. Follow the video on Amazon when connecting the rails. Do not use the instructions for this part. Especially one of the earlier steps when it says to use a washer. Don't use the washer because you will need them later. I used two folding tables to get the unit off the floor which made it extremely easy to work with. The weather stripping slid a little during shipping so make sure to check that and be sure to center everything up. It got a little confusing when it came time to do something with the spread bar. I figured out that since my truck had over the rail covers along with over the gate cover, I did not need the spread bar as a piece of trim on top of the gate. The instructions don't tell you this which makes you wonder what to do with this left over piece of material. Definitely pay attention to the 3MM spacer between the rails and the gate when you overlap at gate before installing the clamps. Make sure you adjust the alignment bolts to get the rails centered. This is critical for getting a good weather tight seal. once you are ready to tighten clamps, make sure you put some good pressure on the rails towards the gate while tighten associated clamps. The instructions do mention this. It will help keep water out. The rubber stops on the locks are pretty tight, so when you go to lock it down it will be tight. This will ware down in time. This is why they give you spare parts. Mine is a little stiff opening and closing, but I do expect this to loosen in time. Once it was all done. About two hours for me with my wife helping me lift it to the truck, it came out pretty good. I went ahead to see how well it would hold up under a drive through car wash. I was surprised in that it might have let a couple ounces get into the bed with a big brush rolling on it, water spraying on it, and high pressure blowers blowing down on it. One thing they could have done different is to have one key for both locks. Nope. On key fits the right lock and another key fits the left lock. Now compared to my friends LEER that he paid $1800 for. The leer is retractable at 12" stop point and does roll smoother. This one you can stop at different locations because you are not truly retracting, you are pushing and pulling from a coil, so there are several positions where you can stop. Just takes a little more effort.I will summarize. Instructions could be better which will make all the difference when installing. A solid complete video would be nice. With the $40 coupon I got and getting this under $700, I'd say well worth the price. Now I need to see how durable it is. So I gave it over all 4.0 with 5.0 on price, gigging the install at 3.0 and benefit of the doubt as a 3.0 for mileage until I can safely say it will last. If I get five solid years out of with some fading, I will easily say 5.0 for mileage. If you are handy, not looking to $1400 to $1800, and willing to give up complete retractability this is your product. I feel that I made a good choice in buying this. If anything goes, wrong; I will be updating this as soon as I can.Lastly: It rated very well across several different companies who do reviews on these types of products. I'll try and load a pic if I remember. If you are like me and live in Texas trucks are a big thing. But so is weather. I installed this product last night, aside from the not so clear instructions, it was a pretty simple and straightforward install. Products like this usually cost between $14-$1800 so for $800 this is a hell of a deal. It seems to be top quality and a perfect fit for the truck. I even had my girlfriend sit on top of it to test the durability, and the slats didn’t even bow or bend. I will say, I do hate having a left and right key. I would much rather have one key unlock both sides. But if this is the only flaw that I personally have, I will deal with it especially with the awesome price. Easily installed in about an hour. Better quality than I expected. Went through several storms in Houston area and the cover did not leak a drop. This is the best purchase I made for my truck! Great cover for the price! The rubber stops for the cam locks had to be ground down like an 1/8" and instructions sucked! But really nice once done. I looked for a year before I bought this one...before this purchase, I hadn’t seen a good retractable cover for under $1000. This one is solid and sturdy. 1. The instructions provided on some steps for installation were not clear. 2. Pictures were distorted slightly. 3. Overall I’m happy with the cover. Opens easy and will provide added security for my gear when traveling. I put the truck out in the pouring rain and had one tiny leak. Drain tubes work well too.
