This bed has bedbugs, which ruin my life.
I have purchased and personally assembled several of these beds for my personal use and to use in our Air B&B's. I also have several other similar style beds - Grier and Erin beds from World Market, grey linen from Target and Malm from IKEA. The Zinus beds are my favorite so far. The quality is much better than the others, they're sturdy and I love the navy blue color. They sit high enough off the floor that you can still use the underneath for storage. You won't get that with the lower beds like the Erin or Malm. FYI, stay away from the Malm bed. The support rails are required and sold separately, the headboard contacts the floor and will be ruined if you ever have a leak plus you will constantly hit your shin on the foot board and it hurts like a mutha. The Malm night stands however look very nice with these upholstered beds and they're tough to beat for $50. Spend the extra couple bucks and get the matching glass tops, Ikea sells them separately.
The main consideration with the Zinus bed is the mattress sits much higher on them than any of them other beds I mentioned. If you pair it with a 12" mattress you're pretty much back to a standard bed hight as if you had a box spring. That can be good or bad depending on your preference but if you're looking for a low platform bed this is not the bed for you. The Erin Cute as a button bed is the lowest of all the beds we have and would be good for a child or someone with impaired mobility. The second thing I didn't realize when I ordered but the Zinus beds at least in a queen size only have one row of buttons instead of two like most upholstered beds. Several inches of the bottom of the headboard is just fabric stretched over a frame. If your mattress isn't at least 10" tall some of that part will be exposed. It wouldn't look bad but my concern would be that you might end up putting a hole in it or stretching it out from leaning on it. I can't understand why they didn't go down further with the internal support and foam. The quality and design is great otherwise. The area is accessible from the back when you have the headboard unzipped so you may be able to reinforce it if you're handy. The legs are plastic but I really don't notice and I like that I don't have to worry about wood stain reacting or bleeding on to my rugs/carpet.
This bed was super easy to assemble and it is sturdy. I am a small person and it took me about 40 min to put it all together. I ordered it on a Thursday and it arrived Saturday (scheduled for Monday). The box was huge because the headboard is one solid piece and I had to ask for help moving it, which was no big deal. I love it!
Blown away by product for such a low price. Double boxed for protection. Everything inside was individually sealed and cleverly packaged to save space. Screws are heavy duty and allow you to crank down for a solid... Absolutely no wiggle/creaking bed frame. Holds heavy 14“ memory foam mattress and my 230lb body no problem (slates bend just slightly and no movement in frame when I toss and turn at all). Love the color, feel and height. Anyone who has seen can't believe I got it for under $200. I even had, with fingers crossed, enough room to slide my 5-6“ storage boxes under. The whole frame system and slates impressed me. Intuitive to put together and well made. I had minor issues lining up one screw thread for the headboard leg, but it eventually caught and went in. I've put together countless bunk beds and regular beds throughout years with 5 kids... And this was the easiest yet. The only weak spot I found was the headboard is not heavy wood and a bit flimsy. Once pushed against wall it was fine and solid feeling. But if you have a situation it can not go flush against wall I'd worry about it's longevity. Note: I have baseboard heating behind bed but headboard feet are inset perfectly so headboard goes against wall flush.
I'd recommend this bed to anyone. Looks great and feels like it will last. Buy with confidence.
It comes with BEDBUGS do not buy it
As far as looks, this bed is a winner no question. Delivery was faster than anticipated which was a total surprise, packaging although overdone was nice even when I felt like I was opening box after box to get to the goodies inside. Now for the tricky part: after unboxing, I pulled out the instructions and was really happy to see how easy it looked with all parts seemingly numbered or coded specially since I was building it by myself, I thought it would be a breeze. However, after parts 1, 2, & 3 the stickers stopped on the actual parts and I had to guess what was next. No problem I thought there are pictures so I should be able to figure it out so proceeded to unboxing the screws. The instructions said to pull screws S but the box had a different list I believe from K to Q so another head scratch. I had to count how many screws to each part to be able to continue. Then, I got to part F from the instructions and it didn’t make any sense at all, the picture just didn’t add up. After some thinking, I pulled the list of parts sheet and part F was actually pictured wrong and it was part G that I needed. Lastly, after this debacle, I started with the side boards and as I was almost done with the second side, the board would just not go in so, I had to unscrew the other and wiggle them in and although clever, I wasn’t a fan of the Velcro system for the railings. Finally done I decided to take pictures when I discovered that the footboard had a rip on it, and one of the railings had a small bump - ugh!! I was done at this time and I will have to contact the manufacturer and dreading having to redo it. The funny thing is that once built as my title states, I liked it and it feels solid and with good materials. The smell from the manufacturer is still there but it has only been two days. I definitely recommend it but be prepared for a headache when putting together and if alone, it is very heavy and hard to take it out of the box.
Super awesome! Got the king sized frame. Love it already. It’s pretty heavy for a little thing like me, but I still managed the drag it in and put it all together myself. No squeaks! Had a sweet handy little tool made for the job. And just looks amazing.
Great colour, the fabric quality is very good, frame metal is welded well and sturdy, and super easy to put together. It took me about 20 minutes total including time spent trying to stop my 7 month old from climbing on it, and using parts to stand while I put it together. The bed came with a small ratchet tool that made the job a breeze. The instructions were super easy to follow and there was no overwhelming smell upon unboxing, just the usual factory smell that disappeared withing an hour outside the plastic.
I do recommend having two people to carry this box up the stairs but as a 5' 3" 130lbs woman I did manage to get the box upstairs by myself. Description says 113lb but I'd say more like 100000lbs.
I would recommend this bed to anybody in the market for one especially for the quality at the price. I was super sceptical ordering a bed online but have heard many positive reviews about Zinus and decided to give them a shot.
The bed arrive three days later than the promised date, 1 of 4 Amazon representatives helped a little bit with the delivery issue, the last one was telling me to contact Purolator directly even when I told her that I already contacted them two times... Extremely desapointed with Amazon Prime (we paid for the delivery promise... however, The color of this bed is stunning, but I bought another beds from this brand and this one is low quality if I compare them, the "legs" (metal pieces not wood as always) at the back were difficult to install and one screw was bad, the slats were not with a good finishing. Otherwise the bed is cute and probably the best bed that you will find around $200.
While I am giving this a five star for easy assembly, it still took me a couple of hours to put together by myself. The instructions are very clear and an allen key comes with the bed to put it together. The heaviest part seems to be the slats but they are separated into two pieces and hold to the platform with Velcro. I definitely think this bed is worth the price and I would recommend it to others.
I received my bed on May 1, the day after ordering and have to say, it's a beautiful bed. The navy color is rich and very easy to assemble. Ordered a Zinus mattress on April 18th and still waiting to receive it, here's to hoping it comes before the expected date of May 15-June 5 date. All in all, a great buy and looking to buy one for my daughter's room soon.
Been looking for a king sized bed frame for a while and decided to indulge in this. I was amazed when everything came inside the headboard - but man was it heavy. Installation was quick and the board is surprisingly sturdy. However, stepping on certain areas causes crackly noises, which shows its not made of the greatest of materials. Additionally, the headboard fabric came with holes in it, which was a bummer. Overall though, great king-size frame, especially for the price, and I highly recommend.
This is my everyday bed and I am still absolutely amazed at the Zinus quality. I am never buying IKEA for the bedroom again. This is way sturdier, more well thought out, and setup is the most efficient I have ever seen. Even the ratchet style Alen key is a nice touch to get things assembled quickly. The grooves with velcro backing keep the slats solid and in place making the process of setting the mattress on it easy peezy. They’ve really thought of everything. Don’t hesitate. Buy this bed.
We've had the bed for a few months now and it looks great, feels solid and no squeaks. It isn't superior quality but is great for the price. One side of the headboard isn't straight but you don't notice it with a bed side table beside it. Comments about plastic legs are true but unless you get right down on the floor, you can't tell and it feels quite sturdy. Overall I am very happy with this bed frame.
I normally wait a while b4 I submit a review & while I will eventually add an update to this review, I couldn't wait to say WELL DONE ZINUS! Clearly, good CS is NOT dead! LOVE the 'thank you' cards. Of all the furniture I have had to put together over the years... Zinus bedframes are HANDS DOWN the easiest 2 put together-It only took about an hr (by myself)
