THE BAD : buying from Amazon
———
Generally I love buying from Amazon, but this was the biggest headache I’ve ever experienced with an online order from any retailer. The product was sold as new but showed up in a box that had clearly been opened before with old and frayed tape around the edges. The box still had the shipping label for the previous buyer on the outside. Inside, the product was clearly used and showed signs of wear. I repack everything, carry it back downstairs (it’s not light, you need two people) and Amazon coordinates for UPS to pick it up. I take a day off work to sit and wait for UPS. No one comes, but UPS tells Amazon they attempted a pick-up. I call Amazon, Amazon calls UPS, UPS calls me and they “come back” to try “again.” Frustrating and way too much work, but Amazon did correct the issue.

The saga continues when the replacement bed arrives a day later. The box looked new but upon opening and unpacking the product, the replacement product had clearly been used before. The most glaring issue is that someone used a black Sharpie to mask damage to the wood stain on all four feet of the bed. Not a good look. In fact, the Sharpie looks worse than a scratch would have. Whether it was the previous owner or Quality Control it looked really bad.

After two weeks of not having a bed and it appearing impossible to get a replacement that wasn’t used, I decided repacking the bed and dealing with carrying it down again, taking a day off again, etc just wasn’t worth it. Amazon ultimately provided an account credit but looking back it wasn’t enough to offset the headache of the first return and ending up with a used bedframe.

THE GOOD: the product itself

Wow. I can’t say enough. I love this bedframe. It looks like it should cost twice as much. The pattern is unique and not cookie cutter. Sadly even with just a 10” mattress, pillows will likely cover most of the design on the headboard. But the fabric still looks modern and sleek.

Zinus does an amazing job making you feel special about your budget bedframe purchase. The box alone is surprisingly well designed for a bedframe. I caught several neighbors in my building ogling it, while they picked up their very sad looking bedframe boxes. Inside there’s a thoughtful and sincere welcome note from Zinus along with cute notecards to send positive vibes to friends and family. (Not necessary or related to the product but a really nice sentiment.)

As others have mentioned, everything comes neatly organized inside the headboard. While lifting the box required two people, I had no problems assembling a king size of this product by myself. The instructions are pretty clear too.

Lastly, it looks amazing. If you’ve been searching and searching and this caught your eye, it’s worth a shot. Maybe you’ll get a new one!

I'm pretty impressed with this product over all, it does the job of holding a mattress perfectly well, it's pretty solid, and it looks pretty nice. It isn't mind blowing high quality, but it is pretty much everything I expected from a $250 piece of furniture.

Here is what to expect when you purchase this product (and if you like the way it looks, I say go for it):

It comes in a enormous box (which UPS decided to leave in my back yard next to my trash cans). Inside, the headboard is wrapped in a big plastic bag. All of the parts, including the directions and hardware, are packed inside the headboard in the zipper compartment. If you don't have a very big space to work in, I recommend doing what I did - cut open the box outside, (it's actually double-boxed) taking care not to cut too deeply, and remove the headboard. Carry that inside to wherever you are going to set it up. Leave the box outside, it's huge and serves no purpose going forward.

Warning: it's very heavy. This is a two person lift for sure, though if you had to you could remove the parts from inside and carry them in multiple trips (the empty headboard is bulky but not too heavy).

Make sure you have a large enough space to assemble before you start unpacking, you will need to stack the parts out of the way so you can position the frame.

Assembly is really strait forward, there is a small hardware kit with five screws, a set of spare parts, a hex wrench, and a hex ratchet (which is a life saver, tightening screws with a ratchet is so very much easier than a normal hex wrench). There is a single (two sided) large page of instructions. There isn't much text, but you don't really need it, the pictures are all you need. All the other screws needed are already threaded into holes on all the parts - you never need to remove those screws either, just loosen them so that the parts slide together, then tighten them down. The five screws in the part kit are for the frame.

You will find two large metal pieces, they are the two parts of the frame. They come folded up, all you have to do is unfold them and their legs, and place the shorter one across the center of the longer one (there is a slot for this) creating an elongated plus sign shape. The longer part of the frame runs along the center of the bed length-wise. The five screws are inserted into holes on the top of the frame above the legs, one screw on each arm of the frame, and one in the center where they cross. Those screws main purpose is to prevent the frame from folding. The frame pieces themselves are very solid, and don't require any additional assembly.

There is a box containing the for wooden legs, they have screws sticking out the top that thread into the bottom of the baseboard and headboard. Once those are attached, you need to loosen all the screws all all the remaining parts - the headboard, foot board, and four side panels. Back them out a quarter to half an inch. Then you position the head and foot boards, and slide the ends of the long portion of frame over the screws in the middle of those parts. At this point you can tighten those screws a bit, not actually tight, but enough to keep anything from shifting around. Then you slide all the side pieces on and finally tighten everything down. This is where that ratchet comes into play, it makes getting everything snug so much easier than it would be without it.

The cross slats are all attached together in rolls, you just stick the first one to the Velcro, and pull each one tight and the Velcro strips space them perfectly.

Toss your mattress on top, and you're done. I should note that the edges of the bed don't extend up past the slats, so the mattress isn't down in the box at all. I kinda prefer beds where it is, so it's prevented from sliding, but it isn't a big deal.

Everything feels nice and solid, no creaking or wobbling or anything. I'm pretty happy so far, the only real gripes are that the padding on the headboard isn't especially thick - but it's enough to be more comfortable than wood, or a wall - and the fabric isn't especially soft. I'm also not a fan of the brown stained wood legs, I would have preferred them be painted black I think it would have fit better.

Bottom line, I like it. If you're looking for a platform bed in this price range and like the look of this one, I recommend it.
I've been looking for a bed for several months. Finally I decided to buy on Amazon. I was not disappointed. First, I was worried that when I lifted the box, it would be light - indicating cheap construction. It wasn't. It was seriously heavy. I'll confess, I am a mechanical engineer, and when I say this was well designed, I mean it. The materials of construction are steel, wood, velcro, and fabric. The design maximizes stiffness and strength, but allows it to be shipped in a reasonable size box. I was able to construct it in about 45 minutes. They include the only tool you need, a hex ratchet. A RATCHET!! Also an allen wrench if you can't figure out how to use a ratchet. I knew before even putting on the mattress that it would be SOLID. And it was. They only way they can make this better is to eliminate the LDPE (bags) used in shipping. They keep everything clean from diesel dust, but not recyclable. Love this and will tell friends!!
Seriously, this bed frame is amazing!! I rarely write reviews but this framed deserved the kudos.

Everything is neatly packaged inside the headboard which is genius because when you move to another home you can just break it down and pack it all back in the headboard. I love the softness of the material.

Instructions are pretty easy to follow and i was amazed at how simple the installation was. I can tell they put a lot of time and effort making the installation as easy as possible. PLUS it came with a handy ratchet tool to help you tighten the bolts fast and efficiently.

Every corner and end was cut perfectly to fit. Even the smallest details were made to fit perfect. and only took 30 min to complete. We are very pleased!!
Super sturdy as well, I am 6 ft 220 lbs and can stand on my mattress without any noise.
I read all the reviews....and they did not lie.
This bed is a brilliant design from the packaging to the final assembly (which is super simple). They thought of everything including providing the tools and spare parts!
I took advice from another review to keep the cardboard and use it as extra support on top of the slats. This works great and the cardboard fits almost perfectly!
Also, I kept all the plastic bags, styrofoam and packing materials and placed them back inside the headboard for storage. If you ever have to move the bed again you can re-pack it nice and neat back inside the headboard while protecting all the parts! There is not a lot of wasted materials in this package as it is so efficiently packaged
If your looking for a good quality bed at a great price this is the one - it has a modern look and goes with almost any decor. Very satisfied with this purchase.
This bed frame arrived quickly and was by far the easiest bed I have ever assembled. It is extremely sturdy and well made. Beautiful just as the pictures displayed!
Bought this frame as an upgrade for my son's room. I had checked out some review video's online and decided to take a shot on it. I got the Full/Double and I got to say, it was pretty incredible.

1. Assembly was simple. Instructions are clear, but more importantly, almost all the bolts are in place, so you just loosen, assemble and tighten.

2. The center bar that runs under the middle of the bed makes it super sturdy.

3. The headboard isn't upolstered in the best material but given the price point, it surpassed expectations.

4. The one criticism I saw online as off-gassing, but we did not have that issue.

Lastly, I saw a review that said it would take 30 minutes to assemble, and that is bang on.

My one suggestion is that the legs DO NOT come with anything to protect the floor, so if you are placing this on hardwood, be sure to have furniture sliders ready.

But super impressed by Zinus.
When Purolator dropped this off on my driveway, I thought they forgot part of it. One large box, the size of the headboard..."where are the side rails?"....I wondered. When I opened the box, I noticed that the back of the headboard had a zippered access panel that opened up to reveal all the components and hardware. Great design!

We decided to remove everything from the back of the headboard and bring it into the house piece by piece in order to make it all lighter to carry. I have to say that this was one of the easiest pieces of furniture I've ever had to assemble. Probably took about 30 minutes. It took me longer to disassemble the Ikea bed that was previously set up in this room.

Anyway, we are extremely pleased with this bedframe as it appears to be very sturdy and it looks good.
A complete platform bed neatly shipped in the headboard ( which makes for a great secret storage after assembly)
I purchased this after my older son bought one.
Ikea could learn a lot on this model. The best part of the assembly was a Great Little Allen Key Rachet included which made the assembly a joy and quick (under 30 min one person )
Note and Advice : A very heavy box, open it up and unzip the back of headboard and remove / transport all items to your bedroom (in my case 2nd Floor ) My other son saw this assembled and is ordering a King Size one.
....Did I mention the Allen Key rachet !!!
It got here a day early. Today, I assembled it and like other buyers, it was super easy for a 60 year old woman to put together. And I'm really happy with the results. It's good value for the money. I also used the cardboard and placed them on the slats. I went to YouTube to see how it was assembled and after watching a video, it was a piece of cake to put together.
I liked that its safe for my kid but hate the gap between the matrices and the bed frame. The frame should be placed lower so that the matrices can cover it all but this is how it looks now. I spent almost $300 for this but it's not worth. Spent good time on assembling it too.
So easy to assemble. Loved the included tools.
Initially go it for our Airbnb. Loved it so much that we got one for our master bedroom.
Highly recommend.
PROS: very easy to assemble (as a 5’4, 115lbs woman, I had no problem. Comes with all the tools necessary (and spare), sturdy, looks very good.
CONS: super super heavy (+120lbs) therefor delivery was an issue because they need to organize a special delivery, which means they won’t respect the timeline given and have to coordinate with you once they realize they can’t make the delivery, very annoying. Buy little soft pads to stick under the ‘feet’ beforehand so you can stick them on as you install, underwire you might scratch the flooring.
So far the bed is fine
... I was worried that it wouldn't be sturdy with wooden slats
Still wouldn't recommend standing and dropping On the bed but overall good buy and it's pretty

Delivery was tricky said there was issue with address when there wasn't.

Thank God my partner is strong he carried it up the stairs and put it all together but two ppl are needed
I never write reviews, but had to Mae an exception for this bed frame. So happy with our purchase! Easiest bed I have ever put together! Quality is amazing and it didn’t break the bank!
This was very easy to assemble. The only thing was I thought the screws were not included because I didn't see a bag of them. I went to the hardware store and bought what I needed. Then I discovered that they were screwed into the bed frame and just needed to be removed. Otherwise it is very nice.
Amazing bed. We absolutely love it. Easy to assemble. Received it way earlier than expected.
I was looking for a basic bed frame with a headboard and was getting frustrated with the ridiculous costs with oftentimes poor reviews. This bed is a diamond. Everything comes in the headboard and it is ridiculously easy to assemble. It is solid and firm and looks good as well.
We bought this bed frame when we upgraded from a queen frame and mattress to a King. I was quite surprised to find that this frame is made of metal at this price which is awesome. It was very well packaged (in the headboard) and instructions were easy to follow. Would definitely recommend this bed frame or brand on amazon to anyone.
