I got these because I wanted some cheap kitchen scissors that I could put into the dishwasher every day without feeling guilty about probably making them dull. These are sharp, and they feel sturdy. They've survived several trips through the dishwasher. I haven't seen any degradation so far, so don't take this as a negative point, but it's possible that the soft grips will start to fall apart after several dozen dishwashings: we'll see.

Update: 3 months later, I've washed them a couple dozen times. The soft grips aren't damaged at all. I think that the sharpness may have degraded very slightly, but at this rate the scissors will probably still be usable in a couple years. I'm very happy with these.

These scissors were for using in kitchen and garden. Their design allows them to be separated for washing in two parts and they are dishwasher safe. However, they constantly come apart during use. Then the connecting screw needs to be tightened with pliers. Fingers or a kitchen knife will not work. When tightened, they are usually too stiff to use, or so loose that they fall apart. I would never buy these again.
OK so I just got these, I don't have a lot of experience with them, but I already love them. You see, I used to have a sharp, heavy-duty pair of kitchen scissors, but then I moved, and unfortunately the scissors did not (I hope they found a wonderful new owner). I got another pair, but they were sub-par, not heavy duty, they didn't come apart, and worst of all, they weren't sharp. So I lived for a year or so with my sub-par scissors, every time I used them, cursing the fact that I no longer had my amazing scissors. I finally broke down and bought this set. I love that they come apart, the cutting length is perfect (my crappy ones were too short), they feel good in my hand and don't feel like they'll slip, and they are heavy duty. They don't have a million bells and whistles that just take away from the main purpose of cutting. Overall, I don't think I'll be thinking about my old scissors anymore.
These scissors are not as great as these apparent fake reviews claim and they also come apart quite easily as your using them. This happened to me unexpectedly and when half the scissor flew out of my hand it cut me quite severely to the point that I almost needed stitches. Butterfly tapes and lots of liquid bandage were able to finally stop the blood flow.
I got this product a couple days ago, and it came with two pairs of scissors. I tried to use it to cut the belt fish. It is sharp and strong enough to cut even the fish bone. I like the design that it can be disassembled into two legs, which makes it easier to be cleaned (it is dishwasher safe).
I wanted kitchen scissors to open food with. I have expensive poultry scissors, and I dont want to dull them by opening food packages. If it's food, like frozen fish for ex., I like to dishwash the scissors.

These scissors are amazing. They come apart easily. They advise that you can dishwash but it's better not to. But I dishwashed them once and they came out great. They cut well. I didn't cut through poultry bone with them, but for cutting open food packages, like frozen vegetables for ex, they were great. Maybe they will be great with tougher things too. I just haven't tried that yet. They are so great I just ordered a second pair. Enjoy!
These were a replacement for my Cuisanart scissors. They are a little bigger than my Cuisanart's, but that is a good thing. They are sturdy, easy to clean and look great!
I use my kitchen scissors for food prep in so many different ways. We also use them for more ordinary uses like getting packages open. It is important to me that they be sharp and easy to clean. These scissors do just that. I can be assured of no germs at all after I've cut apart a chicken or sliced up a quesadilla.

By the way, a really fast quesadilla is to smear a little bit of salasa on a tortilla, a little bit of shredded cheeze and 30 seconds in the microwave or a minute or two in the toaster oven. That's when these scissors come in handy as I cut it into pie shaped pieces.

I highly recommend these scissors.
